Hey anyone and everyone!! So basically I got an old bag of shake from a friend had 2 seeds. I decide to plant them in some soil I had another plant growing in, in my room and boom 1 sprouted (the other I killed by neglect) I forgot I had planted the seeds for about 4 days. So I transplanted to a 3 gallon pot with a homemade compost from the backyard. Realizing I had no way of keeping this plant alive I purchased a 4 ft tent 400 watt led full spectrum light, fan and filter. Of course then I went and bought a few fem and a few auto seeds since I guess now I’m trying this out. Thankfully my plant was able to get some sun this weekend but other then that she’s sitting under a lantern and a few other lights waiting for my set up. Poor girl I know, she seems to be thriving thought and isn’t stretching too bad.

The way I think they have me setting it up is hanging wayyyy too low I wouldn’t be able to fit. 10in. Plant in there. Suggestions are welcome thanks you guys!! Happy happy

My guess is since you just added the led the plant is experiencing a heavier nutrient draw and is showing a slight mag deficiency. It’s normal and will adjust on its own so there is no need to add anything at this time

Official start of week 3! I just bought the fox farms trio that I will be feeding with starting later this week. If anyone has any good schedules for feeding lmk! Anyway all seems good over here. Hope your all enjoying your week!.... There’s also a pretty thick root coming from the hole in the bottom of the pot. Should I do anything? Edit: Day 20, made the (nerve wracking) transplant. She seems to be happy 😃. I’ll update later in the week again

Hey all! Week 4! Everything’s going pretty well. I started a light dose of grow big last week and then ended up transplanting her to a 3 gallon smart pot. Process was smoothe I think she took to it well. My leaves don’t seem to be super perky like usual I’m fairly certain I’m not overwatering 2/3 times a week. I feel like it has more of a dried out look then overwatered but what do I know. Anyway I’ll keep an eye on it... any preventative measures I should be doing to keep bugs away? I would rather combat a problem before it even starts. Happy growing 🍃🤗

Hey all!! Start of week 5 (day 28 from germ)! She’s definitely looking healthy and I’m expecting her to really start taking off. So far she’s definitely growing more bushy then tall which is great. Deciding when I should top her for the first time, any input welcomed, and if I should start some LST. Wanted to add I noticed a slight “mutation” with my plant. Every other set of fan leaves are missing one.. one side had 5 leaves the other 4. The next shoot the opposite side had 6 and the other side had 7 and so on and so on if that makes any sense. I’ll try to get a better pic Topped her for the first time today (deets in pics) thinking about going out to get string to tie her down but I just felt the stalk and it’s pretty strong already, may have missed my chance which is ok. Wouldn’t be a bad thing to let it grow semi naturally for the first time around Decided to try and LST pictures in this weeks diary. Can anyone tell me if that’s ok or if it’s too drastic?

Decided I’m going to let this one veg out all Summer! I’ll be eventually transferring her to a 7 gallon pot and she will me moved around to sunny areas outside (size permitting) I will then move her to my shed for “dark” periods. It’s the beginning of week 6 and although I can’t be certain I’m leaning towards a girl because of its growth patterns. Will I definitely see pre flowers? Could I just be missing them now? All else seems to be ok. My other 2 plants are just getting started. Ok so after careful examination I think I see preflowers!! 2 white hairs coming out of a a pistal looking thing. Pretty positive it’s not just new growth Bc of the color. Check it out let me know what you think!

Week 9. She’s growing well I got her some sun today to get used to the move outside. Trying to wrap her two main branches all the way around the pot in a circle with the LST. It’s gonna take a while but I think it’ll be worth it. Can anyone take a guess if my plant looks more Sativa or indica? I’m sure it’s a hybrid because the leaves all look so different. Thanks!! Happy May! 🌴 May 3rd- added some pics so you can see the branches starting to be LST’d in a circle around the medium. Starting to really grow now, it feels like every other day I need to add more ties. Can I take the older ones out? Like the anchor? I don’t feel like it’s serving much purpose anymore.

Pretty bushy but I’m scared to take too make leaves off. Even though it seems like I do daily. Anyway all is good!!! Happy growing💥🔥

Do stems stay somewhat soft throughout vegetation? Wondering because I’m still able to bend the branches on wemy bagseed that’s 9 weeks old that’s still vegatating. My auto that’s about a week into flowering are hard like sticks... probably a silly first timer question

Yes it's a common thing, usually they tend to reinforce themselves during the flowering stage, since they need to be strong to hold your heavy buds! Don't worry they'll become hard when necessary ;-) I'll be around, good luck with these beauties!

I’ve been keeping this one out of the tent recently Bc of spacing issues. My other plants are flowering and more fragile so I can’t keep fitting this one in. It’s been going outside most sunny days and then kept in a room with lights on for the remaining 6 hours so it doesn’t go into flowering. I think it should work no problems till I move it outsid June 1st. I’ve been a little lazy with the lst recently and she’s a bit unmanaged. I’ll fix her up soon. Other news, I’m headed to DC this weekend and I know the laws are a bit odd.: what’s the best way to go about picking something up? Any cool places to check out? Can I get seeds anywhere? Edit:: moved outside today ( June 2nd) I have been preventing her from going into flower so I could move her outside for the summer. She shouldn’t be flowering but I’m getting long days now for the summers time. So she should go naturally all summer

Plants looking a little light in color... I just moved her outside so will the nutrients in the rain take care of that or should I add nutrients? Also I just bought ready to use “captain jacks” do I just spray everywhere?

Hi there! At first sight this can look like a Zinc+Iron deficiency. Judging by the last informations onto your diary I see you did not fed her this week? That could be a clue, but I've also seen that you just moved her outside while she already has started flowering --> that's a serious issue, and you might give her a few weeks to adapt to her new parameters (outdoor environment + back to veg). If your daylight time allows you at least 16h of light/day she will recover and go back to vegetative stage, and growth fertilizers will dramatically help her in these hard times. I'll be around, keep us up-to-date so we can help you to adjust parameters if needed, and happy growing!

My baby is revegging!! Haha it’s ok I figured it would happen! I put her outside June 1st which was the right time, but I did not ease her into the reduction in light hours. Went from 18 to 15, which initiated the flowering. Now she’s realized winter isn’t coming just yet, and is growing more! Oh well, I’ll get some seeds 🔥💨🍃🌱

bobo420commented7 years ago
@Shazaaam, they could use a bigger pot until the end that's for sure. You can try putting a few holes in the (new) pot, or using oxypots or fabric bags, it will give more oxygen to the roots and ensure that your root ball is developing well. When watering you can water around the edges of the container, so that the roots do need to do 'a bit of stretching' to get to nutrients and water instead of watering in the middle of the pot.

Very very even canopy, that's excellent. Under a 400w, you should penetrate all of that. Much of any further planning you would need to do would be to avoid larf at the bottom due to poor penetration. Thus, you appear to be good to go to flip to flower. If you have room and really want, you could even get a 5 gallon aeration pot, fill the bottom, plop the entire 3 gallon bag you got in there, and then fill around the sides, then give it a week to recover before flipping.
Shazaaam
Shazaaamcommented7 years ago
@Jaindoh, exactly the answer I was looking for and kind of figured. In my head makes sense but when it comes to actually executing, I would run into those exact problems.. there really is no rush on it so I might as well go big and let it do it’s thing come fall. As for the seed my friend who sells gave me a bag of shake, which was really nothing special, but throwing that seed half assed in another potted plant I had going and it sprouting (to my surprise at the time) is what got me where I’m at now. So I don’t know any trace of genetics but I would assume it has a higher chance to herm. That’s for all your input!
Jaindoh
Jaindohcommented7 years ago
@Shazaaam, It's possible, but there are some things to take into consideration. If the grower you got it from bought feminized seeds like I do, they're actually hermaphrodites. XXXY, which was a shock to me. So, they only express it when they have light pollution during their dark hours mainly. Hence they sell them. If you can't make 100% sure it's going to stay dark enough, that's a problem. They're likely to hermie. If you forget to move them, that's disrupting their light schedule. If it gets to where it's humid in the shed because it's a shed, and there are flowers on the plant, they won't like it. Mold, stringy low yield, etc. But, in theory, yes. TBH if it's safe outside I would just put it in like a 7+ gallon container and wait, itll get ridic huge and yield crazy at the end of the year. If you need bud before your autos come, it could be a problem; but this probably wouldn't be a solution anyways.
Shazaaam
Shazaaamcommented7 years ago
@Jaindoh, thanks!! I am going to move to a bigger pot. My plan is to move it outside June 1st. I have autos running in my tent and did a poor job of planning. So moving this girl outside and letting the autos do their thing inside seems to be the best trick. Question; is it possibly to induce flowering early outdoor instead of waiting till the fall? Let’s say it’s getting too big or something, could I move I into a dark shed every 12 hours?

@JUNGLE_B4RNS, appreciate it. It’s shown preflowers and it’s female. I certainly wouldn’t be going through this. It’s also more to clear up space in my tent, as I’m filling it with autos. So I figured let this one go through summer outside.

bobo420
bobo420commented7 years ago
@Shazaaam, :) no need for that, I'm always glad to help, if I can. To me your plant looks great, a bit thirsty but that could just be the lights coming on so, no major problem there. The leaves look good, healthy, big, a little bit too green from what I can see from the LEDs, maybe skip a feeding or two and give her just plain water, you clearly don't have any deficiencies so she wouldn't have any problems with that. As for the different color of the stems, it could be a couple of things but mostly it's just that kind of a strain, if you had some major deficiencies you would see it on the leaves too. Magnesium deficiency can cause the stalks to change color and you can easily adjust it by giving her a shot of calc/mag or some epsom salts. And for the inner node growth - again, she looks pretty healthy to me, maybe it's just a pheno like that - an nice short compact plant. You can top her or try some LST to get more branching but she's looking ok. And you've heard right, generally male plants show bigger growth, depending on their genetics it may be short or tall

Shazaaamcommented7 years ago
@bobo420,bobo my friend! Question for ya lol, I should be sending you half my yield, but I respect your opinion.
