So on my last purchase Seedsman sent me a couple of these for free so I figured I owed it a run. Hopefully DNA will see this and be impressed enough to send me some testers. I'd love to test some lights for Mars Hydro too as I love my pair of TS600s too. This will be my most ambitious project yet. I plan to harvest this plant on the same date next year that I planted it this year. So a 52 week dairy. But not only that but after this winter she will be headed outside to grow next spring thru harvest. Gonna try to keep it to a minimum with dry amendments since it would cost a fortune in liquids. She was soaked in RO and SuperThrive and popped up quick. A bit stretchy but I can cure that during transplant. Pretreated the soil with all the Happy Frog dry amendments in a pretty equal ratio. It'll be a couple of weeks before I throw her in there to start eating but so far so good. We shall see... Also think I'm gonna mainline to keep height in check during the cold months when she'll be inside...worked well for my last OG. We shall see...

Not too much to report. Just watering my amended soil. Transplanted from starter cup midweek after a gnat and neem issue in some of my soil mix led to this and my Blueberry Auto FIM needing new containers. This will be my last soil plant I swear. Any how its now in its indoor home. Will upgrade from 7 gal pot to larger size when it goes outside next spring. Will start mainlining with her first topping next week. Stay tuned... it'll be a lot more fun next month when the training gets serious...

So I said I was going to top her for the first time this week but I got really busy and with the nutrient burn going on with my autos and germinating another auto grow so literally have like 4 grows going right now involving 7 strains and 14 plants with 5 more that just sprouted between yesterday and today. This didn't seem like such a daunting task until I saw how quick this thing wants to grow and I gotta keep it bonsai short all winter lol. Anyways next week she will be stripped down and the manifold will get started for real. See you then...

***Should've said from the beginning but my nutrient measurements are done in tablespoons per gallon of medium so if you use the tsp/g system and substitute tbsp for tsp and gallons of water for gallons of medium. If you see one week that the number change that means that I topdressed with more fertilizer.*** Anyways now to the actual update... She got her first topping at the beginning of the week and was stripped clean except for the second node. I didn't do the third because this girl is going to have to stay very short and grow wide. After a few days the new growth was trimmed again so as not to waste energy on side shoots that will be cut anyway. So I eliminate them as soon as my nails can pinch them. As of now I've stripped a node on each head and they're pushing outward horizontally. When they reach a certain point I'll top each head again, train, and repeat until I get the desired effect. This plant is being grown indirectly without its own designated light so its drawing from all 4 lights in my room and funnily the Parfact side is outgrowing the Mars side even though those lights are twice as far away. Hmmmm.... anyways she'll be ready for the next topping before the next update so I'll have pics of that coming next time. Stay tuned...

So this week was prime time for our second topping. This time we had to top 2 sites at the third node and strip back everything else to keep everything the same node count from the roots. If the recovery is swift enough I may top again next week but I think it'll be topdressing this coming week and topping the 4 mains again the week after. Trying to keep the training and feeding balanced so the roots can be good and strong to hold this structure up down the road. Stay tuned...

Not much to report this week. Stripped on node off of each of the 4 mains. Will most likely form enough nodes to top each head again next week. Will also probably have to reamend my medium next week as well...

So I decided to top each main again right before this update so I could include pics. The branches coming out of the nodes I topped weren't really formed yet but this plant has shown itself to be pretty hardy when it comes to high stress training so I am confident that they will all grow out and that there will be 8 new mains. I've been able to keep this plant stripped of nodes as they form instead of topping and stripping back 3 nodes on each at a time. Any time I see new growth that doesn't serve my needs I pinch it right off along with the fan leaf that goes with that node and this thing doesn't skip a beat. That makes growing this way less boring lol since there is something to do at least every other day. I should have to reamend the soil soon but no signs of any kind of nutrient deficiencies as of yet at all so we shall see...

Its been a crazy week and I haven't had much time to deal with this lady. I will definitely have to topdress next week before I start to see any deficiencies. Also I've decided to top again for 16 mains instead of 8. Hopefully I don't regret that decision later and I can keep her under control until she's ready to go outside next spring. We shall see...

Defoliated pretty hard just before this update. Stripped each main from the third node down but decided to allow a little recovery time before topping. This one is not being rushed as it's got months and months to go. She was looking a bit yellow for my liking so I reamended finally so the nitrogen should be greening her back up soon. After the defoliation she looked a bit more open so I'm gonna go ahead and top again next week and see how that goes...

Well it was a super hectic week. The business I own is blowing up so I've not topped this one again yet but as you can see the feeding last week has turned those yellow leaves back to a healthy green. Quick recovery from the defoliation last week too with vigorous vertical growth. It may be a challenge to keep her in check until next season but we shall see...

Well I got a little aggressive on my training this week and accidentally split my stem in half near the base yet she seemed not to skip a beat. Just in case I decided not to top and I've caved on the year long journal due to space issues and the fact that I have a ton of photo and auto testers I have to start journals on soon so I'm gonna veg some photos for 4 weeks and flip to 12/12. By then her 8 heads will be massive and the yield should be nice. I like the look of her as is anyway. We shall see... Also look at the last pic. I guess being around all these autos flowering has induced early sexing as she's showing little pistils in places already. Strange...

Sorry everyone but I've been very slack on this diary. There is a month missing but it was very uneventful. No more additional HST training has been done. Slight LST just for spacing and when she had a couple of colas too high I supercropped them. She is super healthy and showing all sorts of pistils. Can't wait to get her outside in the spring. If she doesn't wanna stay down that long I'll have to flower her out. We shall see.... Only one amendment done during the lapse.

She's becoming an absolute beast of a bush. There is just a forest of branches. Next week I plan to get in there and do a bit of defoliation and training to get the most out of the space I have for her since my tent now contains 12 FastBuds testers in addition to 3 mature autos.

Yeah so there's nothing more to be done as far as training. I've topped all I can, supercropped opportune branches, tied down mains, low stress trained the base of each cola and still didn't save an inch of space lol. That's okay since my mature autos are almost finished and one actually came down today so by the time my new 12 need more individual space they'll be gone. Basically next week will be a heavy defoliation since she's become very thirsty this last week I'm sure due to the sheer amount of green foliage that I can see yellowing a bit from the bottom and the limitations of a 7 gal pot to the root zone. Need to check feed schedule and if I'm not due this week then the issue may be that I need a larger container and not more food and water. We shall see... * This year long grow is my first attempt at an extended season grow/mother plant so I'm not sure if it's due to the natural veg time being up or the close proximity to 2 dozen autos that have flowered in the same tent during its life but this plant has calyx and pistils everywhere. They're small and don't stack at all so there's no danger of actual bud forming yet but it just makes me wonder...🤔... never seen pistils on a photo in veg before. Normally you have to flip the lights and wait a couple of weeks just to see the first pistils. I'm thinking its kinda like the opposite of herming in response to stress since its been wedged in the room with other plants that have been flowering its whole life so the hormones and all have made her express herself as female as well. Normally I'd have read a bunch of articles but its all just conjecture at this point but we shall see...

Heavy defoliation early this week due to the fact that she's super thirsty and burning through castings. She is still super thirsty but not craving so much nitrogen. I know she's root bound by now so it'll be daily and heavy water unless I can transplant but I'm trying to hold out for April and the great outdoors but we shall see...

So she added 4 vertical inches this week and already needs another heavy defoliation. With the amount of water she's drinking nutrients are not lasting long at all in the soil and I need to give her a stout topdress asap if I'm gonna keep her happy and green because yellow is trying to creep in everyday since she's root bound and I wanna wait another month or so to transplant so that I only do it once when she goes outdoors. Guess I should get on that and report back how she liked it next week. Here we go... For a 10% discount on all lighting gear at Parfactworks.com use code 'parfactworks2020' at checkout.

I keep feeding each time she shows a deficiency at the bottom tier of branches and leaves but every time I do she has a growth spurt and she's all up in the light now. I can go up but she'll have no room for the stretch when I flip to 12/12 if I do that right now. So its settled... I've gotta make her a flower room and cut this project short to preserve my other interests. What can I come up with? We shall see... Super heavy defoliation and some much higher lollipopping due to the vertical growth almost outgrowing my space. She is also thirsty AF and up to a gallon a day including bottom feeding that she sucks up greedily. Almost time to go outside but we shall see... Vertical growth is so outrageous that the top branches stay saggy due to the fact that they literally kiss my LEDs. Thank God mine are soft or they'd be crispy. Still drinking like crazy but the vegetation I lopped off last week has done some good. Still I think she'll need a topdress this coming week as she is still very greedy over N. Probably gonna add a little bloom to the mix just to acclimate her. Nothing major. Still it gets closer and closer each week to the right weather to get her outdoors to finish up her life in a much larger pot. She will probably end up hitting 7-8 feet easy after her preflower stretch at the end of summer. She's already as tall as my wife give or take an inch or so. There is mucho potential here Growmies. Can't wait but as always we shall see... the almanac lol 😆 🤣 For a 10% discount on all lighting gear at Parfactworks.com use code 'parfactworks2020' at checkout.
