The start of week two looks promising. The girls are showing good root development around the sides and bottoms of their cups. I used clear cups so I could see them develop, now I’m second guessing it. I’m thinking about wrapping them in some landscaping fabric so they can drain and breathe through the holes I drilled in the side and bottom. This is my first attempt at growing photo strains. The first picture is from my very first grow, was 3 Royal Gorilla autos (RQS), 1 Crystal Candy XL auto(Sweet Seeds), 1 Cheese auto(Canuck Seeds). One of the RG hermed and so did the Cheese. I was not prepared and they suffered. This grow is starting in clear solos, and I’ll be doing one transplant to final 3 gal smart pots with FFoF soil and Sensi grow/bloom nutes. Also a little cal/mag supplement. I try to use only distilled water, but I do have to use well water on occasion. My ph runs from 5.75-6 and ppm has ranged from 85-100. That seemed to cause calcium issues for my last grow 🤷‍♂️ Running a 150w Mars Hydro TS1000, and AC Infinity 4” with digital controller inside a 3x3 box I built. With a small fan to help air circulation, this setup has performed excellent for keeping temps in range. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Week 3 is going well. The girls are growing at a steady pace. I anticipate them to slow down as they’re becoming root bound and getting ready for transplanting. I gave them their first feeding this week. I mixed up 3 liters of H2O with... 3ml Sensi Grow A 3ml Sensi Grow B 3ml Big Bud 3ml Cal/mag 3ml Terpinator 1.25ml Kelp me Kelp you 1tsp of Root Magic Ph’d to 6.39 PPM was 715 Only water each girl ~8oz until the soil water saturated with a small amount of run off. They took their first feeding very well. No signs of nutrient burn. I have to leave them in the solo’s for a little while longer. It should only be 2 or three more weeks until the Royal Gorilla auto’s finish. Then I will transplant. There’s just not enough room in my 3x3 for flowering autos and vegging photo’s.

The start of week 4. I was given 3 low power lights, so I mounted them to my walls for some supplemental lighting. Two 45w blurple and one 75w with IR/UV. Not sure if that’s what they’re pulling from the wall, they generate virtually zero heat. The girls seem to enjoy it the extra light. Had an accident with BlueBerry. She got knocked over while I was moving the RGa’s to water. So I figured it was time to transplant. (I was trying to hold out until the RGa’s finished) Both BB and GDP were transplanted into 3gal smart pots. I mixed 50/50 FFoF and Perlite. And mixed in Root Magic mycorrhizae. The girls were fed the same mix of nutes from last week. And they seem to like it. No signs of nutrient burn. And their new growth is looking very good. It’s soon time to think about training. I don’t know if I want to try Manifolding or just Topping, LST and Scrog. If you see anything I missed, advice is always appreciated! Thanks for checking out my grow!

It’s been a long week, and these girls have been on a slow ride. A few days rest after the transplant and they perked back up! Growing slowly, at Day 38, I feel like they should be bushes and I should be working into a ScrOG right now. I’m kind of relieved they’re taking their time. I plan on vegging for as long as it takes to fill 2.5x2.5 of that screen or more. Not a whole lot went down this week. I let the girls new containers dry out almost completely. Twice. In between I gave them a small (8oz each) feeding of my veg nute solution. Waited a few days until they were dry again and gave them 16 oz each nute solution. It’s been 4 days since they had any water. Pots are like a barren wasteland. Today (Day 38) I gave them each 24oz of water with only Cal/Mag. I mixed 6ml into 3L of ph’d (6.9) tap water with a ppm of 670. I think I’m going to go for a Mainline technique with the girls, but while I’m going to do that, I also want to try my hand at cloning. So when I started training the girls, I topped them at the 4th node. I removed the 1st node, and only took off the fan leaves from the 2nd and 3rd nodes. As I start LST with the 4th node for mainlining, I want the remaining nodes to grow so I can take them as clones. There is a lot of bluish/purple coloring on the main stalks of these girls. Especially Blueberry. Check out the last picture. Has anyone seen this? Is it a genetic trait showing, or a deficiency? As always any advice is appreciated! Thanks for checking out my grow!

The majority of my BB’s stalk and petioles are a bluish color. Toward the base of the stalk there’s an area that looks like it’s been skinned, or burnt. Any ideas?

ensure substrate pH is correct. possibly a trace element symptom, but those are rare in soil. (rust colored stalk) Blueish petiolse possibly P-def. But, could also be related to pH 6.8-ish is best in soil. Slightly acidic is the goal. Do this first... then move on to possibly changing nutrients.. . if this is off.. give it a week to see how it reacts to change. Nosedive should not be ignored, but be patient. Takes time for changes to impact plant. watering habits? stick to a wet-dry cycle. allow 1" to dry before irrigating or fertilizing. Try not to leave standing water on the leaves. You'll grow mildew or worse.

It was a stressful week for the girls. If you looked through the pictures, Blueberry has the worst luck. As I was tying off the node it broke, and it was hanging on by a thread. I let her go until the next day and it was almost dead. So I pinched it. The other side is cracked but still growing. So I’ll be watching that closely. I took cuttings off of both girls to make my first attempt at cloning. They didn’t make it past the next morning. Sabotaged. I plan on continuing the manifolding/mainlining with BB just to keep an even canopy. It may look a little funny but that’s how it grows I guess. The girls were only watered with plain PH’d tap water this week. I didn’t want to go too heavy on the nutes and stress them even more than I already have. BB is having some heavy purpling on its leaves mostly on the underside. The temp in the box has been very low at night. Probably 50’s. Maybe that is the cause, I’ve read that too much Mag can also cause purple but will lock out Calcium and I don’t see any signs of deficiencies. As always any advice is appreciated! Thanks for checking out my grow!

Week 7 is looking a whole lot brighter! I bought an HLG 600 V2 Rspec this week! And it looks fantastic! I can’t wait to see how the girls like it! It feels like a pretty slow week. Fed them on day 45 and they had noticeable growth overnight. Installed the new light on Day 46, looking forward to seeing what happens. BB looks a little rough. Serious purple on the leaves, the underside of the leaves are very purple. Cracked branch but still growing. GDP is taking her training well. She’s seems to be on track. No issues from what I can see. Slow and steady. Any advice is always appreciated! Thanks for checking out my grow!

Growing into week 8 these girls are taking there time and shaping up nicely for their manifolds, or half a manifold in Blueberry’s case...some defoliation and and just pulling those main branches down little by little trying to keep them even. Blueberry formed a nice knuckle where she split during her training. The girls were only given water for the past couple days. After I installed the new HLG 600 V2 Rspec I started having some heat issues. After the light was on for about 3 hours the temp in the box was 96F. So I’ve had to come up with a temporary solution by leaving the door to the box cracked open. Since then I’ve started seeing Asian lady beetles, another kind of beetle, and spiders...I hate spiders but if they keep the bugs out I guess I’ll let them go. I’ve only seen a few beetles so far, if they continue to hang around I’ll be looking into how to get rid of them. Going to let the girls veg for a couple weeks. Hoping they start growing a little faster. I’ll try taking some clones again before flowering. Thanks for checking out my grow!

Are these girls looking small for being 60 days into veg? Do you guys think it would be beneficial to transplant into 5 or 7 gallon pots? I want to let them veg for awhile, I don’t think 3gal pots are going to let them get as big as I want them to be. GDP may be 8 inches tall.

Hi there,I would like to recommend to transplant into 7Gal pot, if you want her to stay in vegetative stage for a while. Also recommend to use at least 1.5x time of old pot.It will be alot easier for you while transplanting and in 7Gal pot ,you don’t need to worry about root bound and I have been root bound in 3Gal pot.And make me so confused with other problems. After that, I learned some thing “Don’t underestimate the growth of roots.Happy growing... ✌️

My fellow growers, Thank you for following these girls on their journey! This grow journal has become a single strain journal from this week on. Don’t worry the Blueberry Lady is still alive but she has been moved so she can become a mother. I decided that she’s had more than enough stress and bad luck. I will no longer be training her half of a manifold. Over the past week or so she’s had another break, been chewed upon by a single Asian lady beetle (which my vacuum gladly devoured it) bleached by the intensity of the new light, and who knows what else those girls do when I’m not watching....So rest she may under the Mars Hydro TS-1000. She will be left to her own free will until I decide to start taking babies from her. The star of this show, Granddaddy Purple by Blimburn. I’ve been having a little anxiety over the fact that this chick is only SIX INCHES TALL!!! It’s been 60 days! But I have been training her like she’s going to the Cannabis Olympics...she has 8 gorgeous branches that have taken their training well. One of them did crack, as I was bending them all down to have a level canopy. But she is recovering nicely. In the past week, GDP had one feeding. 3L of 1500ppm 6.3 Ph 12ml Sensi Grow A 12ml Sensi Grow B 6ml B-52 6ml Voodoo Juice 6ml Big Bud 6ml Terpinator 2.5ml Kelp me Kelp you With some good advice from my fellow growers, I decided to transplant into a 7 gallon fabric pot. On Day 58, I used the last of my super soil mixed with FFoF and 1/2 tsp of Root Magic Mycorrhizae. Hopefully the results will be good adding living soil to my mix, I plan only to give her ph’d water with a touch of Cal/Mag from here on out unless I notice anything out of the ordinary. Thanks for checking out my grow!! I need your opinion. What do you think could be the max dry yield off this lady? I’m thinking about topping her again to make 16 colas. Or do I stay with 8, and just let her get as tall as possible?
