I have nothing to compare this to! It’s my first harvest. It was relatively easy to grow, and was healthy most of the time (probably would have been all of the time if not for me c: ).
Very happy with it! You’ve got to watch out for light burn, but it kept my plants very happy. It also raises the temp a few degrees since there’s no cooling component, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
I was definitely not planning on harvesting today; I think it could have used another week. But, I found some mold on a few of the browning leaves near the top of the plant and got paranoid about bud rot developing. When I started to trim I noticed that the affected leaves (brown and crispy with small dark grey round spots near the edge) were only affected up until the point where the flower was grown out to. Then the leaves were green, no signs of rot on the inner bud. I’m thinking maybe leaf septoria? Not totally sure yet.
It’s been rainy and humid inside, especially within the last few days, so this outcome makes sense. I think I’m going to invest in a dehumidifier.
Anyways, all is good otherwise and the bud is hanging in the drying tent at 49% humidity and 68F. I’ll update with more photos during the dry/cure process.
Update: I popped the nugs into a jar after about 6 days of drying in a temp/humidity controlled tent.
I had to smoke some - the piney/earthy smell disappeared and the smoke was smooth and sweet, the berry flavor really stood out didn’t cough at all, and can’t wait to try it again after the cure.
