Starting week 6. Going to take clones tomorrow if I have some free time. Still chugging along. Still trying to dial in nutes. Tips got a bit burnt last feeding. Sigh...
Hi,
I use pro-mix and it works well. The trick is not to overwater it.
Start germination in a paper towel once it is ready, grab the pro-mix and mix it with little water( when you squees it no water will come out.) plant the seedling. once the seedling is stablished the next Day or 2 day, add water until it comes out at the bottom of the pot and don't water until the grow medium is dry and repeat until 2nd week. You can foliage feed the plant (low % of nutes) at the 2nd week of grow. Third week star feeding the amount advance nutrients recommends for your plant.
Happy grow!!!!
315cmh light with seedlings in promix HP. Light is 2.8ft from tops of seedlings. Watering when medium is mostly dried out. Seedlings still seem to be stretching and stems are reddish. I watered with 1/4 micro grow bloom from AN. Are my seedlings doing ok? Day 6
I'm on day 11, under 315cmh (20") from tops of plants. I am watering with 6.2ph well water. Temps 65-75. Promix HP is grow medium. Pots have adequate drainage.
The Gelatos are drooping, stems are reddish and the underside of the leaves are purple. What am I messing up??
Water at 5.8 ph make sure the runoff is 5.5 to 5.9 , 5.8 being the best. You need to feed right off from babies at 400 ppm 0.8 ec increase 100 ppm every week until you reach 800, 1.6 ec periodically check your runoff ph and ec to keep things in line. I grow this way. You may want to follow my diary if you like my results. Cheers
315cmh 20" above plant, 1/4 strength AN Micro Grow Bloom, 6.25ph in, 5.8ph out. Watering every 24-36 hours or almost completely dry. 18/6 light schedule.
My plants are drooping and some leaf undersides are turning purple. What am I doing wrong??
I agree, too much water. Your stems are getting a little lanky as well, you should repot them to bigger pots and plant them in so your stems are mostly covered in the pot soil. Leave only an inch or 2 above the soil. Your stem will start to grow roots and your plants will be short again.
When should I scrog? Starting week 6 since seed. 14-17" tall now. 80" tall tent with 315 cmh lights. Or should I scrog? My training is a mess, just experimenting with topping and fimming and some light lst. But all over the place with no uniformity.😅
Hi!
Scrogging is basically same as lst but with the net so its actually easier to control larger canopy area. So yes I would say you should get the net and scrog to make even canopy. You can flip to flower when roughly 70% of the net is filled and then keep bending the first weeks of flowering to fill the rest of the tent.
I have made the mistake of vegging too long and then you just have to let them grow upwards which can lead to problems if the stretch too much.
Will my canopy fill in? Guesses on how much more they will stretch? Gelato, Dosidos, white widow, chocolope, and wedding cake are the strains. 12 in a 4x8 with 3x 315cmh, 6 weeks veg now on day 5 of flower
Hi!
The stretch lasts for the first 2-3 weeks of flowering and normallt they about double in height, so I'd say you will get full canopy. Lookinh great!
@TrilliumTrichomes, yes I run several of the AN add-ons, Big Bud Coco, B52, Overdrive and occasionally cal-mag. I run the coco pH perfect sensi-grow and sensi-bloom, parts a+b as the base nutrients. I find the coco lineup works better with Pro-mix HP.
Welcome! 1st grows are the worst, because honestly, you just don’t know....Relax!
Your plants look good, couple of nice tall sprouts , nice colour.
Don’t over water the plants, it’s natural to want to keep em wet, trust me, nice and dry is the key. This should help. A digital water meter. Worth every penny of the $20.
Good luck and happy growing!
good to see other growers using cmh lights here... and that dos si dos strain is a good one i got to try canuk's dos si dos at the cannabis show... anyways i'm glad i made the switch to cmh lights from led, your plants looking great😎
Nice job on the repot! Looking good 👍 just remember that the most common mistake at this point is over watering them. At this point the roots are roughly the same size bellow the pot as they are above, so try and water just under and around the plant and give it enough to seep down to the same depth as your plant is tall. That’s what I do at this point anyway when I grow in soil and seemes to work good. As the plants get bigger you increase the amount of water needed accordingly. Happy growing! Cheers 💨
@russrahl, Thanks man! You were 100% right, those perlite pots were terrible. I had to wet them down to get them out. Hopefully I didn't hurt the roots too much. Will be wary of overwatering from now on.
