So with these seeds of gdp i have 3 stronger little plants and 1 weaker one that didnt make the cut just like in the previous set of gdp seeds i germinated. Too soon to say its a 1/4 chance you get a weakling so we’ll just chug ahead. I just repotted them in some batmix that is flushed for 2 days to get the first mobile nutrients out and the little roots have a bit more of a hospitable living space. They seem to be doing fine and growing healthy. Just a little purple on the stems probably due to the batmix being that rich. Keep you posted!
Nothing much this week, just did some topping and tieing and they recovered super fast. Due to the rich soil i have just made my first batch of compost tea with some homemade molasses and kelp i harvested here at sea. We will see how they do.
The plant i have on coco is falling behind and not too happy, we will finish her till the end but i think im skipping coco next time.
This week was very uneventfull and the ladies are loving the tea so much and are so green and healthy i actually have time to just look at em without actually trying to fix something. so far in love with this organic grow!
They are going to be put on 12/12 now and we'll see how much they stretch. I bent them a little more and i hope to get some nice buds.
1 topped 3 topped and lst 1 kept intact
We are now almost 1 week into 12/12 and the ladies are not having sign of visible flower so we will count this as week 5 of veg.
It might take so long cause i forgot to put them in the dark for 48 hours when i flipped them which i normally do but this time forgot.
They still look beautifull and green and i think this is a great start for when they go into flower. They get HUGE fanleaves so be prepared to do some defoliation ;) The pic included is just before defoliation.
SO.......for everything theres a first.....I've got a mutation!
At first i thought is was a polyploid but on closer inspection and getting a second opinion from a couple growmies(you know who you are) it appeared to be fasciation.
Kind of an unwanted mutation which should give a shyte plant but we'll see. i'll grow her out till harvest just for the experience. Its fun to see though!
Houston we have liftoff!
The fasciation lady was in visible flower ahead of the rest but the others have caught up now.
Another bud seems to be forming next to the bud that exhibits fasciation so im curious to see how that will develope.
Health wise the ladies are still doing excellent with the coco lady which is falling behind rapidly. I guess its just not for me....
Still only composttea till i see signs of the ladies being hungry. i did the last foliar with compost just before they started visible flower and it shows!
Well, it seems the GDP genes are already showing (lucky me!) with beautifull purple hues showing on the small forming calyxes. I love it that i have a pheno showing this trait as i see plenty GDP plants never exhibiting the purple buds. Lets hope this continues!!
Ohyeah! the purple lady is still getting more and more purple and im loving it!! i hope i can get some awesome shots of purple buds!
I didnt do much this week, just retying the wire so there some more light penetration. I do feel the output of this quantumboard is a bit lacking on 3x3 so i hope to be able to get a higher output light soon!
Funny thing, out of the 2 best plants 1 is showing purple buds, the other is showing purple leaves. Funny to see as bud structure and placement on the stems seem equal.
Also the plant with the purple leaves wasnt topped yet the sidebranches have are at the same height as the main branch so i suspect colas will be out of the question, i DO feel these golfballs will be rockhard as an indica should be imo.
I started giving soms alga Bloom and GS due to the fact of getting great results in the past and to not deplete the batmix which i'd like to re-use for the next grow.
Proof is in the pudding. Rich trichome developement . everywhere!!!
This week wasnt much happening. it feels as if the ladies have slowed down and are producing more and more trichomes. The buds arent getting alot larger but i do see they are starting to become more egg shaped than golfballs. Will we see some bigger buds yet.....stay tuned!
OH MY OH MY, ladies what beautifull colours you have!
On most buds the purple is unfortunatly not visible on the pictures due to the hefty amount of trichomes. i bet this strain would also be an excellent choice for rosin, bubble hash or whatever extract you want to make.
Plenty of frost covered buds. Training wise i could have done better but we'll check that the next grow which is already planned.
These ladies are a sinch to grow. They were healthy all through the grow and i cant find anything i would have liked to see different other than the bud size which might be due to my light not keeping up.
I am starting flush as the trichomes look all cloudy and purple with some ambers here and there. damn shame i cant take pics of the trichomes up close cause they are a sight to behold!!
I did not weigh my harvest yet as i dry by hanging the whole plant. Besides all that matter is the dry weight anyway lol.
I will post it here once they flowers have finished drying. i did get a little taste bud from the earlier harvested ladies that werent going so great and with the mutation. the yield on those just didnt compare to the well behaved ladies. Taste wise its gorgeous, red fruit, berries and an earthy taste. its delicious and reminds me alot of those bubbalicious gum packs, you know, the ones you could blow huge bubbles with!
The grow was very good regarding the batmix and i WILL use it again next grow, the coco was a fail as usual and the mutation yielded low and was just alot of trimming.
The good ones seem to be low on trimming work yet high on the trichome production and have rock hard nugs. The last word hasnt been said about this GDP coming from Hy Seeds and i think it will be a staple on the list.
