Had 4/5 Blueberry Cough seeds germinate, 2/4 of the Chocolope bagseed that I have. Couple of them are doing some weird twisty stuff that I will keep an eye on. Weird thing is they're from the two different strains! Let's hope this goes better than the last one.

Everything is looking pretty good so far! Tomorrow I will be topping the tallest ones and defoliating a bit. Not sure what the deal is with the two that look bushy already, it looks like they never had any apical dominance at all. I also may have marked them wrong if those two are so similar and the rest look alike! Oh well, we will find out later!

Topped them last night and they seem to be taking to it fine. Still not sure what to do with the ones that look like they've split main branches already, guess I'll just leave them and treat them like they've been topped. Maybe I should post a question about them. Now let's hope there's 6/7 females! ;D

They're doing pretty well! Still confused by the ones that seem to never have had apical dominance, I will have to open a question up in the next few days. Started them on 1/4 of the level of nutes suggested by Fox Farms. LST time in the next couple days, then a couple more weeks til I flip to flower! Threw some diatomaceous earth on the soil as a preventative measure after the gnat disaster last time.

Everything is going pretty well, though one of the strange ones that seems to have never had apical dominance is a bit ragged and has some leaf holes I can't explain as of yet. Defoliated a lot of the larger/older fan leaves as space is getting cramped in there and with winter coming up the humidity will be worse here. Did a bit of HST with my 90 degree training clip things to get the lower branches farther out than those above them. Accidentally broke a branch off one of the nicer babies, sigh. :( Going to do some light tying down tomorrow in preparation for the switch to flower in a week or two. Feeding 1/3 of the Fox Farm trio, the full dose of their supplemental formulas (kelp, roots, fish goop, microbe stuff, etc.), and spraying them with the Flowers Kiss when I think about it (3-5 times a week maybe?).

Wondering if anyone else has encountered plants that have never had apical dominance? I have two plants plants from different strains (that I am pretty damn sure I didn't mix up), both of which have split off into two separate vertical stalks off of the main trunk w/o topping.

Appreciate the answers but it isn't likely to be either of those things. Both plants split their main stems as seedlings around week 2 inside a propagator with no pest damage to any of the plants. During this time I never gave them any seaweed supplements or other type of auxins, only the small doses of GH Rapidstart that they all received. I've also grown other plants with added seaweed - cannabis and not - without any weird growth or unexpected behaviors such ass loss of apical dominance. Tried posting another question but it doesn't seem to want to let me, but hopefully I'll solve this mystery one day.

One week 'til I flip and see who's who as far as the ladies and gents. I hate to say it but I'm looking forward to getting rid of at least one or two of them, as the space in there is crowded and training them is pretty damn difficult! I over-watered a bit over the stressful holiday weekend, then had to leave them to dry out a bit more. Gave them a good trim to let some airflow through the branches and allow more light penetration, then trained a couple of them before realizing there's no space for it right now. Also, the weather is fluctuating between hot/humid and now it is cold and dry, so the plants are having a bit of a rough time as they get their air from outside and the garage tends to reflect the outside environment.

Forgot to upload this week and iCloud is being a big stupid so I can't access the photos I took. Flipped them to 12/12 this week and did a little light defoliation on them. Two of them are for sure females already, still no signs of gender on the others. One of the plants that wasn't topped and still lacked apical dominance has continued to have these spotted leaves that eventually turn into small holes in them. While it hasn't affected any of the other plants yet I'm not sure if I should be keeping it or maybe I should just compost it.

If I can't get iCloud to work in the next day I'll just manually transfer the photos so I can upload them. They're looking good this week, even after the first full-scale nutrient feeding of the season! Did a bit of defoliation and rearranging of the plants to allow more room. I think one of them is starting to show the signs of male pre-flowers but I am not quite sure yet. I really need just ONE of them to be male so I can stop all this damned crowding!! I need to find more stuff to say about these each week. 😄 Update 12/19: Got the photos from last week up! One of them is definitely a male and has already been separated, and I'm pretty sure at least one and maybe three of the others are as well. A few more than I'd like in that case, but at least the remaining ones would have tons of room! Update 12/22: An unfortunate ratio of males to females, d'oh! New week coming tomorrow! 😁

I got what I wished for I guess: only three of the seven ended up being female! Otherwise they're doing well though. Need to do some training and defoliation but it's the holidays and I barely remembered to post this! I'll update in the next couple days after taking care of that with some new pics hopefully. Updated with some pictures of the males at the Boys Only party outside. Hopefully I can get some decent pollen out of them and save it for a plethora of seeds one day!

I lagged on doing the first big defoliation after the switch to flower, so I did that today! It looks like the bagseed Chocolope one that made it is definitely a sativa at least, so I'm in for another late harvest there. It is the furthest along as far as budding/growth though, so maybe it'll even out??😅 Gonna be watering and doing some LST on the girls to ring in the new year late tonight - there's a good amount of growing into other branches so I have to at least separate them without too much stressful bending. I was very inattentive when it came to the training of them this time around, but I'm not terribly upset about that as over half of them ended up being males anyway!

I LST'd the bottom branches that weren't getting enough light so that they stuck out to the sides of the plants more. Hopefully with the positions they're now in they will start to grow upward and the tops can even out. All three of them are at different stages of flowering, so I'm not sure if the light is covering as much area as it should. Though I've been moving them around the tent throughout their lives so it's not like they've been where they were forever! Chocolope is furthest along but also the most sativa-dominant looking. I get that there's a lot of hybridization and looks don't mean much, but I'm gonna assume it is going to be a longer flower while hoping for the best! Trichome development is great so far and the buds are getting fatter. The buds on the largest main colas are nearly touching - my first big guys!! 😂 The Blueberry Coughs are coming along slower but still doing well. Tons of little leaves showing up on these guys that look to be getting in the way of the lower buds. Gonna be hard getting rid of them in a week or so as I know there will be a lot of trichomes on them come harvest that would make for good bubble hash! I got a TON from the 30 grams of shake on the last plant that turned out beautifully, and I had to stop running the washer when it started raining on me. Maybe I can get some separation with some gentle training. Even though I was admittedly "lax" with the training this time, I think I will be main-lining them again next time as it was just a lot easier to work with uniform plants. Gonna have to get out the good camera in the coming weeks to take some glamour shots! Update 1/16: They are starting to stink a bit-berries and skunk, so wonderful! Chocolope is getting some darker pistil coloring, and there's a few on the larger BC. I'm going to give them the Sledgehammer flush in a few days, then prolong the middle part of the Fox Farm schedule for an extra week (or two?) to see if the buds will fatten even more before they go into their last stages of flowering. I have to take some pictures of the males before I cut them down in the coming days. Hopefully I'll get some pollen out of them as I've kinda neglected them, though they still look good - sorry boys! 😅

Still looking great! Smelling great too! Going to fill this area in tomorrow or the next day because it's 2AM and I'm tired damnit. Update a week later, oops! Been a long week, kept forgetting or just putting it off. Everything went well last week though, some of the ends of the smaller BC were turning slightly purple and the trichomes are just stacking on top of each other! Was hot/not humid/windy, then humid/normal, then pouring rain/wind/cold, then warm and now it's pouring again; luckily the girls have had no problem with that at all. One of the boys (still gotta get some pics of them, even though they're trashed now) was cracked in half while the others were knocked over and nearly uprooted a few nights between the wet/wind storms. There's still some pollen left, who knows how viable it is but I will try to collect it and store in for later to see what happens! Gonna take some pics with the DSLR tonight or tomorrow, then update again with this week's progress!

Everything is going rather well still! Did some defoliating of the larger fan leaves this week; gonna pull the lights up a few more inches as the tips of the higher leaves are getting a bit brown. Took nice-r pictures with the DSLR (I am still not a photographer), and even organized them nicely this week. Had a bit of a scare when I found some white spotting on the leaves of my plants, so I've been checking them regularly for pests and topped the soil with diatomaceous earth to prevent a disaster like the last time. However, I'm pretty positive it was my own dumb fault as I had used my regular tap water for the foliar spray which probably has chlorine or god knows what in it! I've seen no signs of pests..though maybe I am spraying them at the wrong time in their dark period? I try to do it about 4-6 hours before the lights turn back on. Big BC is darkening/purpling a lot more than the smaller one, even though Lil BC had started turning first. Despite their size difference the Lil BC buds seem to be stacking more weight in a smaller area than their elongated sister. Though the trichome density on the larger one seems like it may be higher - could be the age-old quality over quantity! ChocoLoco, as I've come to call her, is likely not going to be a terribly long sativa as long as I thought initially - never know with bag seed, even from trusted sources! She's doing great: plenty of trichomes, buds are stacking on top of each other nicely, lovely bright green color, smells great though not fruity like the others. I've read to worry about mold from her as the buds get rather dense. Next week I will be moving to the end-stage nutes so we will see how much fatter they get!

Everything seems to be going pretty well, the trichomes are starting to amber a bit on the BC plants so they should be done soon enough. I'm a bit worried about the white spots on the leaves that I can't diagnose. Obviously I stopped using the foliar spray when I thought that may be the culprit and I check thoroughly every time I see them (at least once a day) for pests, but it seems to be getting worse. The Chocolope has not had any spreading of the white spots so I'd assume whatever it is the BC is more susceptible to. The weirdest part is the larger of the two BCs has a TON more trichome growth but also way more of the spottage, so it doesn't seem to be affecting the growth much, if at all. I will have to put a question in tomorrow to see if anyone knows what the deal is. Gonna trim them up and take nicer pictures with the DSLR tomorrow or the next day and add them here. UPDATE: Added some pictures and plucked some excess leaves as they're coming into the last stretch before harvest! ChocoLoco is definitely going to take longer than the BCs; the trichs on them are already almost half amber and I don't need too much couch lock in my life! I found a couple 'bananas' on the smaller BC, which isn't terribly surprising considering it is one of the weird ones that never needed to be topped...I figure one mutation means more are likely. Gonna look in more detail and take some closer pictures tomorrow. May just end up pulling her and her sister, or maybe just taking the tops that are looking good and ready for now. Should be a slower dry now that it's not dessert summer time! 😃

Went crazy with the macro lens this week for a bit of practice as I still don't know how to use it well. I don't think I'll ever try to hold a magnifying glass steady while looking at trichomes again! Everything seems to be going fine, even though I spotted a couple more already dried up bananas on the smaller BC girl. Luckily nothing got polinated, though I wouldn't mind more seeds from these amazing smelling plants. They're definitely a cross between Blueberry and Strawberry Cough, they smell just like the kind I had before so I'm super excited! Chocolope is further behind the others as it is definitely sativa heavy, but she smells of citrusy grass and has a sea of trichomes on her. She's actually a bit top-heavy, which scares me a bit - when I have to move her she sways like a palm in a hurricane! 😅 I'm thinking in the next week I will be taking the tops - at least - off the BCs, as the big one has many amber trichome heads and the smaller has a few already turned. It'll be nice to have them at different stages of development and see how much difference the extra dark trichs actually make! The fun of growing in a garage is that the weather outside is a factor, so flowering in winter (even though it's normally warm here) is a constant battle with humidity. I have a TON of airflow though, and people grow in much more humid climates than mine, so I'm not terribly worried.

The home stretch is here and I will be feeding them nothing for the next week or so as I take pieces off the girls and let the ones below ripen a bit longer before taking them off too. The girls are taking in a lot of water, which is absolutely fine since I want any excess nutrients to make their way out of their systems anyway! Bunch of macro pics again-I like the way the focus turns out and I need to check those trichomes but I will be taking tweezers to the buds now that I can see all the random hairs and stuff on them. 😅 Time to figure out what I'll be growing next and setting up a propagation/veg area since I'll probably just be using the tent to dry in. I just want to try the berry deliciousness!!!! UPDATE: The tops have been chopped! Trimming them up over the past couple days so I will not be typing much - my hands hurt, and I don't even harvest a lot compared to many of you! Everything looks beautiful and the sticky fresh buds taste wonderful from both strains so far. Back to work for now, will update in a couple days!

Mellow, pleasant, not too heavy high. Tastes and smells bit of fruity skunk for the moment which should only get better when the curing process is done. GORGEOUS buds though!

First half of the plants have been clipped, dried, weighed, and jarred! Second half of the plants are hanging up right now and I will update after I trim/weigh/jar them tomorrow or the next day. Then I will be making hash from all the gloriously resinous trim and some time during the week for another update! Any setbacks during the grow and the lower yield are due to my lack of proper upkeep and training throughout the grow cycle. The one that started to grow bananas and hermaphrodite was one of the plants that had no apical dominance from the get-go, so it was either extra sensitive or stressed somehow. The larger one had a lot more spacing - though neither of them were very compact/squat - between the bud sites, which I think was probably from having the lights too high during the seedling stage. UPDATE: Done with the drying and onto the jars for the cure. Will throw some pics of them up after I get them transferred to the computer later today or tomorrow. 28g without trim and 39g with, not a terrible haul and the bubble hash is more than worth all the extra trim. It's too bad 1 of 2 plants turned out to be a hermie that ended up foxtailing toward the end. It was hell trimming all the extra leaves!

Bag seed champion! Grew beautifully, resisted all my attempts to mess everything up. Didn't get the same spotting like the other plants which I treated exactly the same. Great smell, ton of trichomes, great high!

As stated with the others, anything that went wrong was highly due to my negligence and lack of care. This next grow will be a great one I hope!! UPDATE: Everything is done drying and in jars curing. I think I over-dried them a bit, but the second half of the plant came out better than the first for sure! Nearly an ounce dry including trim, about 16g with just buds. Not great but not terrible for one plant, hopefully I get to try out some more of this next grow.

Forgot about the grow medium! 6 parts Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil mix 3 parts coco coir 1 part perlite 1/2 part earthworm castings Just feeding them each 1.5L or 1.25L of RO water with a bit of GH Rapid Start added for their roots every few days depending on plant size. They seem pleased enough!

Had a bit of a hiccup when I took them out of the tropic seedling propagator into the 40% desert humidity we were having at the time. Drooped and dried out the leaves within 20 minutes! My last plant from seed had been under plastic right up until the point of transplant, but it was also a good 10-20% more humid at the time. Have to get rid of those unhappy leaves from the humidity change sometime soon, been a week! Fatter leaves are the Blueberry Cough, skinnier would be the Chocolope or who knows what - just what it was supposed to be when I bought it!
