First grow so starting small. Germinated 2 seeds (1 FastBuds Orange Sherbet Auto and 1 Barney's Purple Punch Auto) paper towel method in a Ziploc bag. Sprouted at approx. 40 hours.
First rookie mistake of the grow by waiting to long between checking the moisture of the paper towel. It was barely damp and I was really worried I screwed those seeds up. Planted them Oct 5th in 3 gal grow bags, Fox Farm Ocean Floor 4:1 w/ rough Perlite. Domed them both and put the grow light at 12 inches.
(Oct 7th)-Fast Buds Purple popped her head up first...I was half relieved, Waiting for her sister Barney's Farm Orange.
(Oct 11th) Little Sis Orange finally decided to join the party. Better late than never. Domed her and waiting for some growth.
Week1 Oct 5-12
Plants are doing great. After main leaves formed I removed the humidity dome. Our humidity here is kind of high so didn't think it needed it. Little sis Orange is about 4 days behind Purple.
Just feeding straight H2O with a light mix of Mycorrhizol, I'm thinking there will be enough nutrients in the FFOF for at least 3 weeks. 18/6 light schedule.
Week 2:
Average temp 80 degrees, 70% Humidity
The girls are doing good. 18/6 light schedule 24" above plants.
Running fan for air circulation and feeding 500ml H2O w/ Root Magic Myocorrhizae every other day making sure the soil is no too damp.
Week 3:
Everything is going well... Had a cold front come through and the temp and humidity dropped.
Ave temp was 76 degrees and humidity went down to 60%. I put a small bucket with water and a paper towel draped over in the water in front of the fan to pick up the humidity a bit.( Got this idea from Bill Ward on Youtube. Shout out to Bill Ward)
18/6 light schedule and still feeding H2O w/ Root Magic Mycorrhizae, now doing 1000ml every 3 days.
Week 4:
Girls are growing like weeds now (pun intended). Definitely having a growth spurt this past week.
Started LST on Purple Punch plant. Orange Sherbet doesn't look like it will be as tall as her older sister so I think I will just let her grow straight up.
Same light schedule and still 1000ml H2O w/ Mycorrhizae every 3 days.
Temp is still averaging 80 degrees and humid around 72%.
The purple Punch is really showing the flowering stage now so I changed her nutes. Little Sis Orange is still on same nutes as before...maybe for just this week, we'll see. Getting some wonder smells from the grow tent. Not using a filter, no need because it's in my shop and away from everyone except me..
Orange had a minor emergency this week... seems like she was getting too much nitrogen and the lower/mid-level leaves were getting the Claw to them. Did a light flush and checked the PH run off and re adjusted her nutes. Big Sis Purple is a hardy old soul.. You can throw just about anything at her and she will take it. They are sucking up the Cal/Mag now, every other watering. Buds are filling in nicely on both, Orange seems to have a lot tighter and bigger buds than big sis Purple. I'm not complaining, just happy they are doing great. I'm just stoked at how much science goes into growing a crazy plant that's a weed. All in all I'm really happy with this being my first grow ever.
Weeks are winding down. Purple's pistils have been browning up and have started to curl in and the trichombs are all cloudy. Have been feeding her PH'ed water this past week and it looks like she will be ready to harvest by next week or so. Orange on the other hand is about 2 weeks behind and can't get enough Cal/Mag. I constantly check the run off PH and it is within the proper range but she still is being stubborn about getting the proper nutes. Being my first ever grow I am really happy with everything and have learned a lot from reading online articles and my own trial and error. I may not get the biggest harvest out of these girls but what I will get will be oh so sweet.
Started flushing the Orange Sherbet plant last week and still continue flushing Purple Punch. Haven't notice a lot of color change for the leaves on Purple Punch but have only flushed twice so far. Trichombs are starting to amber on Miss Purple and are all milky on the Orange Sherbet. It won't be long.... Checking trichombs daily so I can harvest at the right time.
This was my first grow and Barney's Purple Punch Auto did not disappoint. She was very easy to grow and took every mistake a first time grower could do to her like a champ. I'm sure I could have had a bigger harvest but I'm really proud of what I have. I now know why everyone is crazy over Purple strains....Purple Punch really shows you she's a true Indica after the first few hits. I culled a few popcorn buds after she finished drying to taste test her and all I can say is WOW!!!!! Very smooth with a light fruit and gas favor and will creep up and smack you into euphoria.👊😵😴 I'm glad I'm running 2 more now. 👍
Just cut down Miss Purple....Kind of bitter sweet, grew them with so much love and now WACK!! I will update with final weight and taste profile after drying and curing. I must say for my first grow I am pretty happy with the results so far.
Update 12/20: These buds are so super sticky. I was cutting up a few grams to infuse in some oil and my scissors were stuck together like contact cement. Can't wait to try some super concentrated oil.
First off this was my first grow ever and I was amazed at the science behind cannabis growing. Fast Buds Orange Sherbet Auto was a very finicky plant from the beginning. She was almost 5 days behind in germination with the other plant I was growing and keeping her nutes and soil PH balanced was next to impossible. I got her though her life cycle and still came out with just under a ounce of buds. The buds were kind of airy but super sticky and sweet to smell. I culled out couple of small buds after drying and trimming and she was a sweet delight to smoke. Not harsh and had a very nice active buzz.
The Orange Sherbet plant was a lot harder to grow than big Sis Purple Punch. She was a lot more sensitive to the nutes and I had to totally recalculate her feeding regimen. I will update on final weight and taste profile when she finishes her drying and curing
@ZoobZoob_farmZ, J'ai appris à utiliser du lait en poudre pour le calcium des plantes. Il fonctionne très bien, ajoute également de l'acide folique pour le développement et la croissance des racines
@ZoobZoob_farmZ, J'utilise True Plant Science "One". C'est censé être bio... qui sait. Cela a vraiment amélioré ma croissance. Vous n'avez pas besoin de mélanger 100 produits chimiques différents juste pour que les nutriments brûlent. Zéro carence sur mes 3 dernières récoltes.
