This is my first grow and I plan to go fully organic down to the pesticides. I've always wanted to try GSC so I figured why not try my own. Today is Day 7 from sprout and Day 10 including germination. I "pre-cooked" my soil and base dry amendments for 3 weeks, and also used a neem oil mixture to spray on top until the end of veg. I germinated by planting directly in the soil which took about 36 hours to sprout. I noticed a few bugs in my grow, not sure what they are but I continued to lightly spray the neem oil mixture on the top of my soil and "spritz" the seedling and added yellow sticky traps on the soil. I also noticed some weird growth on the first fan leaves not sure if its a defect, pest, or stress so feedback would be greatly appreciated!

So far she's growing fast with only minor problems. I had some burns (slight yellowing) and a couple small holes in the fan leaves that I think is due to the neem oil mixture being heated by the lights even though I give it a 4 hour period with the lights off when spraying the foliage, I've laid off on that but will spray the soil instead. Also had a few heat issues in the tent but I'm working things out. Any feedback would be nice!

Any suggestions for a natural, safe and effective pH down? Lemon juice? Vinegar?

I tried bio ph down but it was a fail, those you named have weak acidity (you need lot of lemon juice to lower ph significantly) and are highly unstable just because the bio part breaks down and fade creating a slimy film of biomass. I found out that minerals ph down are way better, I’m now using sulfuric acid but you have plenty to choose from.

I'm having trouble identifying what's going on here, is this a cal-mag deficiency, iron or something else? Seems to be yellow spots with some brown and a couple holes here and there.

Hey dude - you’ve got nuttn to worry about here. These first couple leaves typically shrivel up and die off over time. It’s not likely to be a deficiency If you’re growing with a pre-loaded soil and only 2 weeks in. That said if you see the same symptoms persist on the newer growth over the next 2 weeks than yes - you likely have a calmag issue which u can treat as you like. I use a standard calmag supplement from botanicare (believe it satisfies the organic moniker for a liquid nute). I’d only start on an every other day feed regimen with calmag IF the problem persists. Good luck with ‘er, I’m sure she’ll turn out great👍

This week I did a couple LST sessions and some light defoliation. So far she has responded well and seems to be ready for more, she hasn't really stretched much yet. Some leaves seem to be twisting slightly, I'm thinking the pH in the water I'm using is a little too high so I'll get that corrected before flowering.

This week I did a couple LST sessions and some defoliation and my girl bounced right back. I noticed some white pistols towards the end of the week signifying my girl was in pre-flower so I went ahead with a top dressing of my second round of dry amendments, Earth Dust Boost. Since she's transitioning to flower I had to get rid of my first method of organic pesticides which was a neem oil mixture, I will now use spinosad as a soil drench and on the foliage. I've been having a little trouble with thrips but I'm slowly winning.

This week I didn't really have any problems as my girl has progressed from preflower to flower. I did a few LST sessions and some defoliation, I also added a CO2 cannister and weekly waterings with unsulphured black strap molasses I incorporated a spinosad mixture as my new pesticide and increased my lights to 100% power. The training is really starting to pay off as I'm constantly noticing new tops and an even and low canopy before the stretch, however I'm still trying to widen the canopy more to fill the grow space.

This week I only really did some defoliation. I also gave my girl a compost tea with unsulphured molasses. I also added a mini dehumidifier to the grow space to get my humidity down. All in all she's looking good, just waiting on the buds to grow in and fatten up.

This week I did a LST and Defoliation session. I also watered with unsulphured molasses. Other than that I've just been watching this girl grow.

This week I defoliated her lightly. I also added another round of Earth Dust Boost nutes as a top dressing . She's slowly starting to get dank, especially when I move or rub any spot where there are trichomes on her. I saw one thrip so a spinosad treatment is coming soon before she gets closer to harvest.

Early in the week my girl got a big trim probably the last until the big chop. I also gave her a spinosad treatment, and a compost tea with unsulfured molasses and other good compost ingredients. At this point I'm just watching the buds grow and watching out for any unwanted pest. The trichomes are still clear and some pistils (not many) are starting to turn brown so I believe I still have a few more weeks.

This week the only thing apart from watering with unsulphured molasses I did was a spinosad treatment which seems to have knocked all of the thrips out. Trichomes on the buds are still clear, pistils are slowly turning brown and buds are slowly fattening. Still looking like 2 to 3 weeks left, and honestly I'm just happy to have made it this far and looking forward to the outcome.

This week I added one last compost tea and two rounds of unsulphured molasses with my watering's, other than that I've just watered and watched her. Trichome production is still ramping up and trichomes are still clear, with more orange to brown pistils.

Only gave my girl water this week. Trichomes still being produced and not quite done. More colors starting to show in the buds and the stalk/stems are turning purple.

I finished this grow midway through week 13 on day 92. It was a pretty great experience being that it was my first grow, haven't tried it yet because it's currently curing but I will update when I do. I learned a lot with this grow and will definitely do better the next go around.
