Ghost Train Haze Notes Week 3
11/04
Both seeds are still growing strong and getting misted with water/rotated under the light twice a day. Biggie’s still working on the first set of three-tipped leaves, and Smalls is coming in just behind with just starting the process.
I’ll probably do a gender test on these in the next day or two. I’m so curious to know what they’ll end up being lol.
11/05
Recently went up a pot size for multiple strains and the setup was starting to get a bit crowded in the tent, so I moved both Ghost Train Haze plants to their own set up.
I’m actually using an LED light I got from someone who purchased it a while back from some company called Aggressively Organic that apparently went out of business recently. It’s a bright but simple LED board with no fans, and on the plug there’s a little orange box-thing that says it pulls 40 watts from the wall. Unfortunately though, I haven’t been able to find anywhere on the internet that tells me what that translates to for my plants, so it’s a bit of a gamble.
I’m starting at about half a foot away from Biggie and Smalls, because that height was recommended for growing the plants for the original kit. I’ll check on the pair in the morning and see how they did, making adjustments based on how they respond to the light.
Another change I’m making is in how long they have access to light. In the grow tent they were chilling in previously it was a 20/4 light cycle, but with this next grow setup I want to transition to 18/6. I’m sure it would be fine to just go straight for the 18 hour schedule immediately, but just to ease the transition I’ll have them on a 19/5 schedule the rest of this week before going to 18/6 next week.
If Biggie and Smalls don’t seem to dig the Agg. Org. grow light, then I have an extra Gixxer LED light that I’ll use instead. It gives me the ability to flip between veg and bloom so I was planning to put the pair under it when they outgrow the Agg. Org. light anyway.
11/06 – Midweek Check In
So far the change in light doesn’t seem to have bothered Biggie, and if anything I think Smalls prefers it if the new leaf growth is anything to go by.
11/08
I got a bigger light for my grow tent, so I ended up switching the lights back out again lol. I don’t have enough info right now on the aggressively organic light to risk gambling the health of these two plants so I just went did the switch.
11/10 – End of Week
Both Ghost Train Haze plants are coming in really nicely and developing their second and third nodes, respectively.
Honestly they look great and I can see the little five point leaves coming in on Biggie while the three point leaves are coming in on Smalls. The stems are thickening and all the growth looks unblemished by nutrient burn from the cal/mag water spray I’m still using twice a day.
Probably in the next week or so I’ll switch from spraying to properly watering every few days.
@ThrashedTV_BakedByGlaze, I'll be honest i've definitely thought about it lmao, could be a really fun experiment since conditions and temp mostly work pretty well together
