Week 7
12/31 Day 46. Well it's time for mid cycle water changes. Opal started to develop some algae in the sight tube, so perfect timing I guess. In the future I will look into those blue colored tubes. Also the 4 point tie down system with the net baskets is working like a charm. It was easy to move the plant without having it wanting to tip over. Garnet is 2 weeks behind so all she received was a regular feeding.
Happy new year! I hope it doesn't become a shit show like 2020!
1/1 Day 47. Today I did a complete H2O change on Pearl. Like Opal her roots looked nice and white. All 3 girls received some Lolli popping of the lower growth and I removed some of the "larfy" sucker growth too. Completed the feeding and all fresh new water, and I started to use the Beastie Bloom on Garnet at 1/2 dosage. The Advanced Nutrients is doing a superb job of keeping the PH around 5.9, the TDS was up around 2300, EC at 2.6 (time to decrease it) and water temps holding around 72F to 68F. A new addition is the inkbird temp controller. This should work well when the room temps get into the 50s at night.
1/4 Day 50. Today just topping off PH'd water on each plant. No signs of nutrient burn or any deficiencies. 😊
1/5 Day 51, I did an additional feeding on Pearl and Opal. 8ml of CalMg, Micro, Gro, Bloom, 1/2 tsp of Beastie Bloom.
1/8 Day 54. PH issues are under control. I need to stay very vigilant in the future with all flushes before harvest. I might try as an experiment on Garnet and skip the mid grow flush unless she shows signs of needing it. Today a topping off with 2 gallons of water divided up between the 3. Will also do some very minor defoliation on lower growth and any fan leaves blocking flowers.
Any ideas what this yellow coloration is on the leaves? Only effecting this one flower area (branch) in a lower section of the canopy. I did a complete water change 5 days ago, and completed a feeding as well.
I also had this problem with this strain also, my problem was lack of nitrogen. But I don’t know if this solution will help you cause you are already in flowering.... if the color changes to green again tell what you did ... good luck
@heizen,
Thanks and much appreciated. I am hoping to incorporate all my lessons learned from the 1st grow. Challenge on this grow is the time of year. Fun none the less!!!!
@420TouristguideDWC, ahh I get ya, I'd be freaked checking it non-stop. Was thinking of giving it a go with just one plant to try it first. Looking at Aeroponics too, might try DWC first tho.
@GuerrillaNo_4,
Never flooded. I do a 24 hour leak check on the containers 1st. After that 1st grow I checked the condition of the rubber grommets too. I route all electrical cords so that if it should, they are protected. Also the tent liner would keep the water held in place. The containers only hold 4 gallons of water each. You could always place the container inside a bigger container for insurance and piece of mind 😇
