Grew really well, had three the same in the tent and would do the same again as I could control them easily. Next time a bit more LST at early stages, as-well as removing small branches to allow for concentration on bigger buds. Would like to have harvested more but for a first grow im happy. Roll on the weekend ;-)

I found that the plants were maturing at different times. I harvested though when I saw that the trichome heads were bending over from the THC content. Possibly I could have waited an extra week or few more days in the flush, but I didn't want to start loosing THC strength. Dried in three days on a drying tent rack, with fan and at 20C. The only change throughout the whole thing next time is to have an extractor fan with a carbon filter, the current setup was far too smelly and caused several issues.

Why are the stems starting to show some Purple, is that over-watering?

Hi! Plants looks healthy in those pics so I'm betting that it's just the intensity of your led light. Strong leds turn stems purple but it's nothing to worry about, just look at my diaries and see the color of stems to compare, or any other led diary actually. So keep going and be carefull not to stress those girls, they are very fragile in this point

Any ideas why one of the three isn't growing as well? Seems to be 50% smaller than the others. Might I have damaged its roots when transferring from smaller pot? I have given it more BioRoot as a result.

Hi man very surprised nobody answered this yet. It could be down to a huge amount of things. I gather she's doing okay now ? for future reference it can be many things like I said. Ph imbalances can slow her down, overwatering can slow her down, change in temps can slow her down the list goes on and on. Sometimes its nothing to do with anything you have done sometimes its just the pheno growing slower. I have experienced this. This backs up the theory that all phenos are different regardless of breed. If you plant two seeds of the same strain from the same mother they will still be two completely different plants. though they will be similar they will have different characteristics and will grow with different traits. Slow growth can be one of these traits though breeders do their best to breed this out of the pheno. Either way shes healthy and patience is the name of this game. Unless you are perpetual grower im not seeing how it would be a problem for you :) Happy growing πŸ‘Š

As long as you have the space keep vegging and topping as many times as you can and let them get as big as possible, but remeber they will get about 2x as tall in flowering, so you wanna do some lst to keep em low so the branches go sort of ddiagonally tending more to a horizontal position and not vertical, this will allow for more vertical toom but then you must consider the side space, if your plants can all fit, and if they by the end of veg, then in flower you shouldnt have any issues as then you let them grow vertically and they have plenty of room cause you trained to take up more horizontal space and during this period she got bigger, stronger and more established. Good luck and stay lit growmie, veg for as long as you can allow it to, keep in your mind that every week they veg its an extra bag of weed. https://youtu.be/jK8fAUlqbow?t=38

It really depends how much "enough" is. Long story short; if you can wait then do as you will get more bud. However if you can't wait then these guys will be fine to flower

Can I start to remove the wide fan leaves as soon as I switch to Flowering or leave for the first couple of weeks then remove?

I would be asking why you want to remove the leaves? Each healthy green leaf is photosynthesising and making the energy for your plant to grow. Reducing the amount of healthy green leaves reduces your plants capacity in producing energy which in turn reduces your plants ability to grow. "Bud sites" rely on the fan leaves to make the energy that they need to grow their biggest and best flowers. I would recommend to leave all healthy green leaves on your plant and suggest you only remove any yellow leaves. The older fan leaves also act as "storage" sites for vital growth elements such as amino acids, carbs, sugars etc that your plant will draw upon during flowering and this is why fan leaves generally go yellow during the flowering cycle. It is more efficient for the plant to "recycle" the "stored" elements rather than growing flowers and making growth elements from new, at the same time. If there are no fan leaves full of stored vital elements, your plants will have to manufacture these vital elements at the same time it is trying to grow the flowers, meaning there is less energy for flower growth due to having to use extra energy to re-manufacture the carbs, amino acids, sugars etc that the plant has lost due to the leaf removal. Your plant will grow her biggest and best flowers with all leaves left in place to produce maximum energy for maximum growth. This is basic plant biology that the defoliation brigade fail to understand. Removing large amounts of leaves will actually cause a major upset to the plants metabolism, with the plant potentially suffering shock and with a risk of slowing growth for up to 2 weeks while the plant re-grows more leaves to boost her energy production levels back up to the same level as before the leaves were removed, rather than using the that time to grow flowers. Hope this helps,.... Organoman.

Hi. Now plants are in Flowering phase, I am wondering whether I should strip off some of the small growth occurring on the lowest arms (see red rings on photo), and therefore try to concentrate the growth/energy in the upper branches and therefore the potentially bigger buds?

I agree with harbinger. You’ve got a real stretchy sativa here and she’s lanky and airy. Trimming lower bud sites at this juncture won’t do a whole lot given that you’re through most of transition at this point. You still can without detrimental effect absolutely, but it’s really not going to make much of a difference on the scales. If it were me, I probably wouldn’t bother. I’m greedy as fuck when it comes to my yields and there’s more than enough light penetration in the canopy to turn that little budlet into a decent nug. Best of luck with it!

Hi growmie. I am hoping you are happy with your harvest and would love to help you achieve a more satisfactory result with a few suggestions. I was a little confused by your choice of when to harvest. The bending trichromes are a mystery to me and I wonder if you mean the white hairs that poke out all over and go brown. ?. These are called pistils and will collect any pollen in the air while fresh and go brown and curl up if not fertilised , they replace them with fresh ones until very close to harvest. It is normal for this flush of new pistils to occur during flowering, usually around week 6/7 . The trichromes are what people refer to as frost/ice/sugar/thc and are nearly microscopic but cover the entire bud structure and sugar leaves , they stack up as the plant matures and can be viewed with a powerful magnifying glass or jewellers loupe/microscope. Rhey look like crystal balls on top of spikes and are clear initially , as the plant matures ,these will slowly become milky/cloudy and following this amber will begin to appear on them. This point is considered the sweet spot for maximum potency and effects intended by the strain. The amount of amber covering them at harvest determines how heavy the narcotic effect is and over 30% amber trichromes will create a sleepy, couch lock effect. More cloudy and no amber would be a more "up/active " high. If using the browned hairs to guide the harvest point , it is less accurate but aim for 70%of the plants buds hairs have browned off. I think you may have harvested very ,very early. Drying is also a learning curve and speed is to be avoided as this does not allow the chemical processes to complete during drying. A very good way is low temp and slow drying . allowing air to directly blown onto the plant as it dries will obliterate so many of the "terpenes" that create the strains flavours and hit profile. Heat and light also have a very destructive effect on this process which we have grown the whole cycle to achieve . I find a big cardboard box with colder air passing it but feeding in some of it through the lid flaps helps. ideally I use 15Β°c fresh air exchanging but not blowing directly on the plants. this allows all the green chlorophyll in the leaves to be used up by the plant as she slowly dries out. The leaves are what will create the harsh, acrid taste and can ruin a good harvest and put growers off keeping going. I say this in absolute respect and care for your new venturws in growing. I would love to assist you with your next grow to help you achieve a more beneficial harvest . I hope this isn't an insult to your skill or knowledge and I suggest it with totally positive intent. be safe growmie. P.s remove those leaves off your jarred buds. they will make you cough amd kill the flavour for you. burp them daily too for the first week or so to avoid any chance of mould building up.Good luck
