Grow Questions

I have been growing my royal dwarf for over 8 weeks now. The trichomes on the top buds all look cloudy (no amber's yet) and I was wondering whether I could cut the top 4-5 buds? A lot of the pistils are still white but none of the trichomes are clear. Is it too early?

You could! But definitely shouldn't! I am not good at being patient. I find it incredibly hard to not cut and sampleπŸ˜†, I get super excited. Remember when you pick up the snips.. "it will be so much more in a few weeks.." Plus If you cut now they will dry to almost nada.. Looking very nice mate πŸ‘

My plant (mainly top leaves) have been developing weird holes/ends missing over the last week or so. Right now I am thinking it is due to its proximity to light? I'm really unsure. Any help is much appreciated!

Hi there, This appears to be a potassium deficiency. Your plants are demanding more potassium as they flower. Hope this helps,

Do these trichomes look ready? Planning to snip in 5 days (sorry for the low quality zoom)

Can’t tell for sure by the pictures but I would give at least another week or 2. Clear trichomes clear headed focused high, milky gives a balanced high, Amber is sedating high. Your preference

@DreamIT, this baby is 100% organic! Just compost and molasses :") so no chemicals to rinse out! I will review in a week and see whether I harvest or not :) thanks for your time mate!

@Namlah, Personally I would start rinsing (just give water at the correct ph without more fertilizers) until the outer leaves drain well. But you should also listen to the opinion of others :)

Nice result for a first grow! Congratulations on your harvest! πŸ‘

Namlahcommented4 years ago
@Buddha2, exactly. It also stunted root growth (along with the pot size) so the plant was showing some N and K deficiencies throughout its life despite it having an abundance of the stuff.

Buddha2commented4 years ago
@Namlah, I completely understand. I think that overwatering is responsible for more than 90% of problems. So-called "deficiencies" are usually not a sign of actual lack of nutrients, but the plant's inability to uptake the nutrients. Mostly because the roots get suffocated by too much water.

@Buddha2, thanks! I made a few errors, namely: overwatering during veg. Stage, too small of a pot, defoliating too late etc. But all of these are learning points. Will update with fry weight on Saturday or Sunday :)

Congrats buddy ! It looks very good It is a pleasure to grow these dwarfs, very easy to maintain and fast growth.. perfect for beginners The yield is decent for what the genetics are promising πŸ‘ Enjoy smoking

@@Ciupalac, thanks :) if I used fertilisers, LST and better lighting, I am sure I would have got more. But 19g is enough to last me till my next plant finishes :) the smoke btw is amazing! I haven't even cured yet but it is so smooth and so energising! My friends and I were dancing till 2am on this shit

@GMSgrows, I was hoping that I could harvest after 6 weeks of flowering because it is an auto strain with a 6-8 week flowering phase (according to their website). It's a little tricky for me as I am doing an organic grow (don't ask me why). So I have been using compost and just yesterday gave some molasses. I will give another (last) set of molasses tomorrow and see if the flowers are ready by week 10. Would love if you could check back in 10 days and give me your opinion on whether she's ready for harvest! Lacking experience my end

@Namlah, I have been growing for 45 years. I have found pistols turn brown early into flower when to much nutes provided. My pistols never turn colour until the 5th usually the 6th week into flower. That tells me it's time to lower nutes for late flower. I start low for early flower, vamp up a little for mid flower, then knock them back down to the ec I started them at when they first went into flower. Flower mode is when they actually started to flower. They then need 8 to 10 weeks for maturity. When you get things right you will have buds the size I grow my friend. Cheers
