Continued with some LST by tying down tallest branches with wire. Occasional defoliation when I notice leaves blocking bud(s) and can't be easily tucked. Plucked some lower foliage for airflow, but I think it was more because I was just bored.
Of the 3 KickAss plants, #1 is the smallest in size but has the most developed buds at this point.
Installed the drip system this week.
Some initial thoughts on this:
(1) I installed the drip system for two reasons: (a) Tired of bending over to water w/ stupid monsoon force soil eroding watering can and (b) I'd like to transition to a hydroton drip system one day.
(2) Used 1/4" tubing throughout; limited maneuverability with tubing this size inside tent. Instead of the plants dictating the layout based on their lighting/air needs, this watering apparatus is the key constraint now.
(3) Halo drip emitters have 3 spikes that are ~4" ish. Using the spikes would eliminate ability to rotate plants for adjusting/balancing light exposure.
Really losing track of time, quarantined in my basement with covid. I think it's week 8. Unfortunately I've temporarily lost my sense of smell, not sure what they smell like now.
I'm just continuing with twice weekly defoliation and 2-3 times watering. Think I'm at about 3 gallons 2-3 times a week for all 6 plants, which would be about 1-1.5 gal/week*plant; not sure how normal that is, but I just wait until it's barely moist about 1/2" into soil before re-water. Still haven't gained smell back from covid, wish I could smell these girls like Joe Biden.
Nope. She's a girl. Every cannabis plant forms those on the node sections. You can always tell by the 2 white pistils sticking out. Those are basically the ovaries of a female plant.
I have really enjoyed watching all three of these plants grow up. Here are some notes on each so far:
KickAss #1 - This one is bonsai like, very small. Most developed plant of the three. At day 70ish trichs are mostly milky. Starting flush soon.
KickAss #2 - Very cool structure from LST on this one. Medium sized of the 3 kickass plants. Should be a nice little yield. Trichs mostly clear @ day 70 from seed, still giving nutes and watching her for a bit.
KickAss #3 - This one has just stretched like crazy, but buds are least developed. I'm thinking she will be alone in tent during end of flowering and I'll give her all the glorious light. Curious how thicc buds will get.
KickAss #1 is just about done, was waiting to see some amber. Will check again tomorrow, has been a week since last checked.
KickAss #2 is such a cool looking plant. Trich check coming soon, perhaps time for flush as well.
KickAss #3 is a big one. Hoping those buds fill out. One of them looks suspicious.
I harvested the smallest one, really wasn't much, just threw it in with some trim I gave a friend.
The KA#2 is such a beautiful plant with some nice buds. I've been flushing this one for a week now. Might pull at the end of this week.
I'm hoping KA#3 turns out to be just like #2, except that it's twice as big. Lagging behind the others by a couple of weeks it seems like.
Harvested one and have one more still going strong.
The one still growing is an absolute chonker, omg the buds are getting so fat and heavy. It has a fruity smell that I can pickup on even with covid smell loss.
It's crazy that I got these seeds for free and they were best in show in my tent.
