April 17 day 56 F - anytime now but still no ambers. I've been watering with 1/2 tbls molasses and added 1 ml bloom nute a couple days ago too.
I'm still watering 3 litres daily and its bone dry by morning. I'm concerned that when I cut and dry her it's going to be way too fast with 40% tent humidity. I bought a humidity controller and will try to see if I can raise for drying only.
the leaves have been very dark green and quite brittle the past few weeks. I think that the soil still had quite a bit of worm castings and released N during flower. this is a total guess! maybe it's led burn without actually causing damage? also I think the fans were too direct although weak flow so i moved 2 underneath cannopy and indirectly on top. she's looking healthy but there's a significant color difference for sure.
so now just watering and waiting for ambers...
April 19 - so on Barney's site itself it says 55 - 60 flowering days not 49 - 55 like I read elsewhere. she's day 58 today so right on schedule (flowering wise at least).
April 22 - day 61 F : trics look cloudier but no amber. I noticed a wet dog or stale smell yesterday. I don't see any signs of mould. I may have overwatered trying to flush (which I wasn't going to do but got ancy). humidity was 60 this morning which it has never been before. maybe the smell is a wet fabric pot all night. I skipped watering today, I'm concerned and want to cut her down. tomorrow? ugh no amber....
What’s the rationale for putting it dark for 24 hours before flipping?
About scrog, the point of scrogging is so you can flatten out the top layer so the top gets even light all over. If you bring your scrog net up and allow stretching vertically, you defeated the purpose of scrogging. You need that on the top layer that way they get used to it and when they start stretching, you tuck them under the net so it’s even and spread them horizontally.
Other than that she’s a healthy girl.
@MaryJaneUSA yes that's a good idea for the new nodes/lst. already she's way busier and I know those nodes underneath aren't getting much light already. I'll check tomorrow and see what's up for my game plan.
thanks again!
@forcode1123, i see, i was curious of the 24 hours because i dont think ive seen that technique before.
if that's the case with your scrog net, bring it down and tuck the leaves under the net and stretch it out a little bit horizontally until the middle part of the "new" nodes pop out a little bit and then raise the scrog net that way you can accommodate for the overgrowing as well as being able to LST at the same time. the last week of stretch, i'd leave the scrog net where it is.
hello my fellow gardener I think you are over looking the humidity . that low is going to hurt your plant when a young sprout it wants 80 % toss a dome on it :) in veg around 70 but will be happy even at 60 % you need a humidifier , dome is no good at this point as it will need to breath . try and mist your plant if cant reach this higher humidity for temp reasons ( google preferred times ) , hemis will look like little bananas and are easy to spot have no fear pay attention and give her love don't stress her to much in flower you will not get any you humidity is good for budding but could be a bit higher to start . I really think this will help your veg cycle and the speed of your plants growth happy gardening love the diary
@Mongler1187 thanks for the advice. even with a humidifier I still can't get it above 50. she's doing well in low humidity 19 weeks in. my biggest fear after harvest it's going to dry way too fast at 40-50% humidity.
