Soaked the magic beans in RO water ph adjusted to 6.5 for 12 hours. Beans were then placed in peat pellets that were also soaked in PH adjusted RO water. Excess water squeezed out. I'm pretty optimistic all 6 beans will sprout. I've never had one not sprout using this method. A brief caviat: I am growing x3 Gorilla Glue and x3 Girl Scout Cookies Extreme. After sprouting they will be put into 1/2 gallon pots with FFOF soil. After root colonization I plan on transplanting to 3 gallon fabric pots and mainlining for 8 colas each plant. After my previous grow I am pretty adamant on canopy management and training techniques for 2 reasons, first I do not want to grow popcorn or useless larfy buds, second reason is to keep foliation to a minimum for better airflow. After the bud rot disaster from the first grow ive deemed botrytis mold my mortal enemy and have since recently purchased a dehumidifier. Aiming for 12 ounces of dense uniform buds this time. To be concluded... UPDATE: All 6 seeds sprouted from the peat pellets. 4 days total germination time.

After seedlings have been germinated the jiffy pellets were planted in fox farm ocean forest in 1/2 gallon pots. There is still one seedling of the girl scout cookies extreme that is still trying to lose its shell. I'd help her but I'd rather be patient then risk breaking the cotyledons. It's always seems like a long way to the finish line during this phase. I am giving only small amounts of RO water PH adjusted TO 6.5.

Growth is happening pretty fast. Were at node #4 for each seedling 18 days now from seeds popping. One phenotype of the girl scout cookie extreme is pretty big compared to the others. Next watering I will start 1/4 dose of nutes and cal mag. That's all folks. Happy Growing 🙂

I want to clone all 6 of my plants using the tops because I am phenohunting. I am mainlining so I was planning on topping down to the third node after 5 nodes have grown . I tried raising my light to 36 inches and dimming it but my internodal distance is too short. What can I do?

I'd suggest letting them grow to 6 or even 7 nodes. I've had 100% success rate with >=6 nodes. Cut at 3rd and then prune everything below the fan leaves of the top-most node. Some strains take better to that treatment, others don't, but given enough time every single one should take root easily. Take care, keep growing and let us know how it goes! ✊

I topped all 6 plants 2 days ago. There were 5 nodes on each plant when I topped them. I was able to take a cutting from each plant to give to a friend who will veg them out so when these plants are in flowering we will pheno hunt and inbreed our favorite plant from each strain. Plants are looking very healthy and have responded very well to topping. I topped at the 3rd node and removed all vegetation below the 3rd node. I started feeding 1/4 nutes last week and this week I bumped it up to 1/2 dose. Will probably transplant to 3 gallon fabric pots next week before I start bending and creating the manifold.

I broke a branch while tying down my mains. The branch almost broke completely off. I splinted the branch in place and used some tape to secure it to the branch. Will my branch recover from this?

You have nothing to worry about! cannabis is a very resilient plant that can withstand a lot of stress! You did the right thing by keeping the branch and reattaching it straight away. As long as there's contact between the main stem and the branch that has broken off (at the break point obviously) and it is covered to increase humidity (the tape should do great) then the plant will fully recover and may even induce a new stronger growth with thicker stems and faster development!! Hope this helps! Good luck and happy growing :)

Transplanted from 1/2 gallon nursery pots to 3 gallon fabric pots 12/23. The plants had no transplant stress and continued to show growth so I began bending my mains down 3 days ago. I was mostly successful but broke 1 branch on one gorilla glue plant. I taped it together and it seems to be doing ok now. I decided to follow Nebulas mainlining method instead of Nigbuckets to cut down veg time. One gorilla glue had 4 nodes on each main already so I topped down to the third node on both mains and removed the second node on each main also. I also tried it down again so now that plant has 8 mains. Just waiting for the other plants to catch up on their nodes before doing the same to them. By next week all topping on every plant should be done. Nebulas method only tops twice for 8 colas. When these 8 shoots on each plant grow out I will bend them down and away from each other to avoid crowding. Each cola will have adequate space to develop.

Second round of topping is done on all plants. Some of the mains got long enough to start tying down, some still need a week to catch up. I'm going to up the dose of veg nutes today. The gorilla glue responded to mainline training better than the girl scout cookies extreme. The GSCE definitely got a little unhappy with me plucking her leaves and tying her down. So as you can see I have plants in different stages of mainlining but not too far. The branch I broke 2 weeks ago on the gorilla glue still hasn't completely recovered and is growing slower than its corresponding main. I think I wont mainline this branch. Might just lollipop it when it comes time to flower.

I feel pretty good about this grow so far. I did break another branch on Girl scout cookies plant #2 when tying down a main. It wilted and never recovered so I just cut it off. The branch I broke on gorilla Glue plant #1 several weeks ago recovered very well. I was able to root 7 healthy clones with 100 percent success under a t5 light and a humidity dome. I gave the cutting to my friend to veg so we can hunt the best 2 plants from these 6. I am getting pretty healthy growth even after defoliating the plants recovered quickly. There are no ph or nutrient problems so far. I have been very slowly every week increasing the grow big and cal mag and it seems to be doing wonders. I decided this is my last day of veg which gives 8 weeks from putting seeds in jiffy pellets. Changing the light schedule today to 12/12. I will do a heavy defoliation at the end of week 3 of flower of everything below the canopy. Happy growing everyone!....

I installed some plant canopy rings for cola management. I installed a new fan, the 30 watt secret jarden monkey fan. I needed or air circulation and so far I really like the fan. There is 1 plant that is growing unevenly sized colas. I ran out of horizontal space to bend the taller branches down so I'll just let them grow. It is getting pretty damn crowded and now I'm thinking I should have done less plants. I began feeding open sesame and I am giving veg nutes, cal mag and big bloom until the stretch is over. Will be doing a heavy defoliation at the end if week 3 so I dont stress them during the stretch.

This week was the last feeding of vegetative nutrients. To be honest I am quiete worried about a few things. There seems to be over crowding and some of the mains are hogging light, which is causing others to develop too spindly and weak. Also the mains aren't really as long as I'd like yet (I was going for the cola effect), but we still have another week or two of stretching so fingers crossed. Some of the side branching under the canopy started getting lanky, I know I'm not supposed to do any pruning until week 3 but I didnt want any energy focused on these branches and pruned them. Pistils started showing up a few days ago and there is a subtle odor.

Glad to see them start filling out. I started giving compost tea and molasses in between feeding and watering once a week. At this point I'm trying to slowly raise ppm without getting nute burn. They are barely putting put smell. I'm guessing the buds will be significantly bigger next weeks update.

They look a little under developed for the end of week 5. Possibly just genetics? I am always afraid of stripping fan leaves but I had to pluck a few more today because they were blocking light. Looks like it gonna be a long flowering period. Other than that I have a pheno of each strain that I really like so we will keep the clones from those for the next grow. I'm going to increase the dosage of my base nutes. Good news is that there seems to be alot of trichomes, however the smell is very weak right now.

My place is reeking like sweet delicious skunky fruity candy. I'm aware that 2 phenos of the girl scout cookies did not respond well to mainling and I'm at a loss with the yields on them. Our pheno hunt was successful though and we are keeping pheno #1 of the girl scout cookies for yield and beautiful purple trichome filled buds. We are keeping Gorilla Glue pheno #1 for yields as well as tight node structure and dense sticky buds. Yesterday was the last feeding. I'm doing one more compost tea and molasses before just straight water. Stay tuned for the harvest and next grow with the 2 prized phenos. Let me know what you think, what is your favorite pheno?

Definately could of got a higher yield but this was my first mainlining attempt. Buds are frosty, smell like skittles and have a medium density. Definately not a strain for mainlining.

Yo, love your username.. I started learning about sacred geometry after becoming a Tool fan years back. Love those guys. Excited to watch your mainlining grow! It’s a technique I wanna try soon

@sacredgeometry, what a small world! I played bass when I was a kid and within the past few years I’ve got back into it and started learning guitar. Justin chancellor’s riffs are awe-inspiring.. props for sure cuz I could never coordinate playing their stuff in a band with all the time signature changes, etc. As far as the grow tho, If you don’t feel comfortable, don’t do it.. but I will say that I’ve done plenty of LST and never broken stems. If it feels flexible, flex it. But if it feels stiff don’t. Usually the top 3-4 nodes of the plant can bend easily. Good luck, it’s looking great so far.

@Ezzjaybruh, Always interesting stuff indeed. I played bass for a tool tribute band so I definitely love tool. This is my first time attempting any type of plant training so I am excited to see how it goes. I've always been reluctant to do any bending because I've seen people break stems and screw up their grow. I will be gentle and as careful as a surgeon and hope for the best.

Looking awesome man.. it’s interesting to see the variation in phenos with these seeds. I’ve noticed it to be quite a common occurrence with ILGM.. worries me about the stability of the genetics. Sure makes a pheno hunt fun tho!
Ezzjaybruh
Ezzjaybruhcommented4 years ago
@sacredgeometry, on that coco run i did GH nutes but supplemented with big bloom and tiger bloom - and I think that was beneficial to trichome production and terpenes
Ezzjaybruh
Ezzjaybruhcommented4 years ago
@sacredgeometry, I’m in the same boat.. and any advice would be pure speculation. I’ve tried hydro, coco, and I’m doing two soil types this time.. my fave so far I think is coco. I yielded some literal rocks of buds from my “pure indica” grow.. but yes the yield was not significant. I’ve been basically strain hunting, which I’m pretty much finishing up now that I got a few strains I really enjoy, now I’m gonna focus on those and go for potency & yield like you said
sacredgeometry
sacredgeometrycommented4 years ago
@Ezzjaybruh, This pheno hunt for sure was fun. I took as many cutting as I can of the purple gsc with the bigger yield and the gorilla glue with more resin production and bigger yield. To be honest every grow if growing from seed has different phenos. I think im only going to grow from clones from now on unless i'm starting a new strain. Seeds get expensive and I just want a super potent super high yielding strain that I can keep growing every time and learn from that plan. I use a humidity dome and t5 light and it is a little frustrating having to mist several times a day to keep the humidity high. I also noticed that the most potent strains seem to yield very little to medium for some reason. If you have any suggestions for high yields and potency im all ears.
