The plants have really filled out over the last few weeks. I am going to harvest the Tim Leary #1 Phenos and an Ubon Ratchathani (Emerald Triangle) due to their size and age. They could go for another 2 weeks however the flood tray is starting to get over crowded and the remaining phenos still have another 4 weeks minimum to really fill out. If anything, they may need another small feeding of P-K. Feeding and light manipulation has really brought out the dormant thai genetics and equatorial sativa traits. This is proving to be a very fascinating autoflower and equatorial sativa landrace. This grow resembles that of the original NY Sour Diesel, long flowering times, giant fluffy buds, and a potent aroma of berries instead of fuel. Really it is unlike anything I have ever seen. The pistils are beginning to turn orange, and the calyx's are pumping out their second round of fresh pistils and trichomes. About 15% of the trichomes have started to amber. The Main kolas are swelling alot now however the under growth is still very larfy. Knowing the original breeder of this strain, he wouldnt have waited this long for the plants to flower so i feel harvesting 3 a little early is acceptable. For the last 50 years, this strain has been line bred in population numbers of about 200 planted in 1 gallon pots with good dirt. No nutrients no pesticides, just water. Under those conditions, they would finish in 85-90 days, ideal for a SOG setup! Now we are seeing the full genetic potential of these plants for the first time since the breeding project began. A real Gem!
