So, this is my first attempt of growing cannabis. This is like week zero for now, I'm still trying to germinate the little seed...5 days so far on paper towel. 😣 ---- Gave up on the first seed, didn't germinate. For the second one, I put in water Ph 6.0 with hidrogen peroxyde 1:15. 24h later the radicle appeared. I waited more 12h and planted the seed. I think I should have planted the seed deeper, the seedling appeared but it was glued with part of the seed coat. I had to remove in the second day because the seedling wasn't developing. Day 3 was a great relief, the first two true leaves appeared. I started with only 2 CFL and the LED lamp. I was afraid to burn the seedling in this beginning. Everything was fine though. In day 6 I turned on all 7 lamps (6 CFL + 1 weak LED). I also put some DIY reflectors for the lights using aluminum foil. 😀 -- Last day of this first week. Second pair of true leaves are slowly appearing. I've been watching other people grows and the plant growth in the first week is so faster than mine! I guess I don't have enough lights for this kind of growth. What do you think? Ps.: I didn't put any nutes so far. I'm counting on the 20% worm castings on the soil composition.

I noticed today (day 6) that one of the cotiledon leaf is kind of burned or maybe its only discolored. Any ideas why? My soil is made of: 70% Turf + Perlite 20% Worm castings 10% Vermiculite

Your plant shows stress pre-signs. We're missing some informations to clearly identify your issue, but here are some clues : this could be related to overheating, I see your daytime temperature is 32°c, which is very high for a such young plant (and even for adults). A nutrient burn could also be responsible for this, but we don't know what you're giving to her and at what frequency? Finally, this may happened because of the proximity between your lamp and your plant : 15cm is very close, once again you're working with babies here and you don't want them to be hurt. I would try this : increase the lamp distance, decrease nutrients (only plain PHd water until the next healthy leaves appear), and find a way to lower down your day+night temperature. I'll be around, good luck with this baby!

19/04 Second pair of true leaves are growing. The plant seems to be healthy, despite of the burned cotiledon leaf and the slow growing pace. 21/04 I bought some lamp Y adapters to better distribute light near the seedling. Maybe this will improve development speed. Will post pics when it arrives. 25/04 End of this week. Plant is still growing slower than I thought it would, but there are a new set of leaves growing and thats nice. My adapters should arrive tomorrow so high hopes. Ps.: The plant shows small signs of light burn (I think), but I didn't move the lights because I have only 3 of them on while the adapters don't arrive. Tomorrow I will fix this.

29/04 The lamp adapters finally arrived. Now there are 5 CFL lamps on 19/5. The plant started developing much faster than before. I also began to feed her with some ferts for vegetative growth. 01/05 All 6 lamps set. Growing faster than ever but still very small in height. 03/05 The plant is developing a lot of new leaves between nodes, growing a lot.

06/05 Growing fast. So far no signs of problems with he plant. Since last week, I'm giving her half the dosage of the fert I have each other day. 07/05 Today was the first signs of smell. I got home and there was a good herb smell all over the place, but not too strong, so no problem so far. Maybe she ended the vegetation phase. I don't know. 08/05 Today I decided to start LSTeing her. Very strange at first and difficult to do it with wires but I think I got the hang of it. 😃

So, many questions here. Today (07/05) the smell started, I don't know if it's the flowering phase starting, can you tell by the last photos? What about her height? Isn't it too small, even for an auto plant? Why is it? Can I do something to improve yields? No LST so far...

Looks great mate, if I might add.. you’re right on schedule.. Autos start flowering anything from 3-6 weeks from seed. She is still growing in height and overall size.. she will easily double in height and in some cases triple. You can start to LST and defoliate a little one she stretches a bit more. Lst will allow more light to get through your plant instead of just the top. Check my auto grow and you’ll see the changes I’m talking about. You got a healthy girl, don’t stress it as you’re doing fine at this point. Hope this helps

13/05 The plant started the flowering stage I believe. Some white pistils started sprouting. I continue to bend the main flower to enable other buds to grow better under light. Also noticed yellow dying leaves in the bottom. 14/05 I started giving other fert, for the bloom phase, with 4-14-8 composition. Let's see what happen. 15/05 Removed some dead leaves, but the problem still persists. 17/05 I'm going to give less water and stop the ferts for a few days to see if that fixes the problem. -- Anyone have a clue of what can be the problem? I don't know if the the ferts or too much water. But I only water each second day and only give 300ml at most. -- 19/05 I'm giving her only water, no nutes, since 17th. Looks worse.

20/05 -- 21/05 I feel growth stopped completely. After some guidance from users and researching on the internet I decided to do a flush on the plant. I poured something like 10L of filtered water in the soil. 22/05 Seems that the plant wasn't affected negatively by the flush. This substrate is awesome. 😊 The plant seems to be better, some of the sign of overfert have improved. A few leaves have stretched even though many of them still have claws. I LST'ed a little more to make it easier to check tomorrow if the growth if back. 23/05 24/05 25/05 26/05 I had to stay away from home because of a personal problem an a friend took care of the plant for me during these time. Before I traveled I flushed her. I worked nice, she improved, but a few days later some leaves started to yellow again... More on the next week. 😒

I was away from home because of personal problems. A friend took care of her for me. 27/05 ...So my friend made another flush to fix her for sure. 28/05 29/05 30/05 She improved a lot and started growing again. 31/05 01/06 02/06 No nutrients added this week. After the overfert episode and 2 flushes later she recovered well. PS.: Sorry for the lack of pics, I messed up my phone. Will update this week later if I can recover my photos.

The buds are growing and I have questions if I should defoliate in a so small plant. Should I? What else can I do to increase yields? Is it close to harvest time?

Hey kenshin so i was looking through your weeks and over the flowering period I'm not seeing much flowering nutrients? I think with the plant being small defoliating might take away some much needed leaves for taking in energy and light. If you dont want to feed the plant flowering nutrients...I would at least add in 2 tablespoons of molasses to each gallon of water, it doesn't require flushing as it is natural sugars and it can help bulk up buds...I think increasing what good light you can and adding in some positive elements to the water/soil would be best, in a pinch you can use cactus/succulent food as it is high in P and K but low in N. Best of luck and happy growing. Congrats on your 1st auto grow.
