Hi Guys and girls...
This is my first journal on Growdiaries. I already grew other strains in coco coir with good success, such as Blue Widow (Dinafem) and Lemon Skunk (DNA). Germintaed 2 seeds last sunday and put them in solo cups last week. Today they were transplanted in 6L airpots.
My DIY grow room size is 0.3m by 1m for veg and 0.6m by 1m for bloom.
Lights for veg: Viparspectra 450W (I only use the veg switch with an actual draw of around 130W)
Lights for bloom: I modified an old led Viparspectra 300W grow light. Managed to fit 8 citizen CLU 048 3500K 80CRI led cob lights. They are running on 2 0.7Amps led drivers. If I am not mistaken they should draw around 200W in total.
This week I raised up the nutes to 0.6ec. Both plants are growing well and fast. Plant no.1 is growing a bit faster than the other one. I will trim them when the 5th node is showing.
It's a normal thing and it's good for you : it means your babies are eating nutrients, which tends to decrease the electrical conductivity. I'll be around, happy growing bro!
Last Monday I topped both plants...First plant has recovered more than the second one. Fed at EC 0.85. Still watering 500 ml each one with a runoff of around 30/40% everyday. Temperature has risen a bit during the day but humidity is still the same, fluctuating between 65% and 70% even during the night.
I am still undecided whether to scrog or not when it comes to flowering. I am not going to top it again as my flowering space is a bit limited. Maybe will LST it a bit. I will decide as the plant grows. Any suggestions are more than welcome especially from those who have experience growing this strain :). Cheers!
This week plants were pruned a bit. Bottom leaves were removed. Also did some LST on them. Now both plants have 6 'bud sites' with the same height.
Both plants are same as regards to height but first one is way more bushier. My plan is to transplant them next weekend in 10L air pots and prepare them for flowering.
Plants were transplanted to their final pots (10 Liter). Mixed some perlite with the coco coir for better drainage. Still feeding them veg nutrients. Main branches were tied down as much as possible. This week I will be reducing the light an hour less every day, making the transition to 12/12 more smooth.
Next Friday or Saturday will transfer them to the flowering partition under the Citizen Cob Lights and start feeding them flower nutes. Humidity is rising but I put 2 Yate Loons 12cm pc fans for intake and 2 other fans for exhaust in the flowering 'room'. If these won't be enough, I will use the dehumidifier.
Both plants are looking really healthy with lush green colour. I am enjoying the Advanced Nutrients. Better than Plagron in my opinion (although Plagron are fully organic). I am feeding them almost half of the recommended dosage in their feeding schedule, and it seems more than enough.
Can't wait for them to start budding!! 😊😊
Last Thursday plants were moved for flowering under the customized LED COB light. Switched to 12/12 and started giving them a light dosage of flowering nutrients. Humidity is kept at around 65 /70% during the day but at night it is rising a bit more at around 75%. Temperature is not fluctuating more than 2 degrees.
Plants have stretched and grow considerably during these last few days. 1st plant got more bushy than the second one but they are being kept at the same height.
LED COB light is hanging at 28cm away from them. They emit a lot of light and I am not risking to burn them. So far so good. I am keeping a close eye on humidity every day (concerned about budrot).
Second week from 12/12 and the plants are now showing signs of flowering. Starting to smell but still weak. They have stretched a bit but now seemed to stop. Some of the lower leaves have been removed from both plants.
Raising nutrient levels a bit more. They can handle them quite well. Feeding them 1.2L daily each at 1.4 ec and runoff is around 30%. Runoff ec is 0.9 and PH is a bit high at 7 but do signs of deficiencies whatsoever. Humidity is a bit high but good ventilation is the key.
Third week it is....Raising the nutrients to 1.6 ec... Some more stretch from the second plant..Pistils are really showing now, getting bigger day by day...Smell is still weak. Temperature during the day is rising fast to 27 degress Celsius and 24 during the night. Humidity is peaking during the night but I am controlling it with the help of the dehumidifier. I can't lower it less than 65%....no signs of bud rot and according to description, this particular strain is resistant to mold.
Same feeding schedule for this week. First plant's pistils are already turning brown and buds are taking shape. Second plant is more of a sativa pheno. More taller and thinner buds. Pistils are still white. Smell has increased a bit.
Buds are swelling nicely. Smell is now getting intense...The fragrance is amazing...Sweet like cinnamon!!...I never grew a strain with such sweet smell. Buds of both plants are SUPER dense!!...I guess the Citizen Cobs are working :) .... I noticed that some of the upper leaves of the first plant are filled with brownish spots. I don't know if it's light burn or a deficiency of some kind. But all in all the plants are doing great. Watering them 2 Litres each daily as the temperature is rising to 30 degrees celcius during the afternoon.
Changed nutrients this week. Increased Coco Bloom, started Overdrive and stopped B-52 and Big Bud. Buds are getting fat almost day by day and the density is amazing!!...I am really satisfied with Advanced Nutrients...It seems that you really get what you pay for :)
1st plant is almost ready. I think I will start flushing her next week. Keeping an eye for the trichomes.
I am really happy with the grow and harvest of this strain. Resistant to high humidity (which is a problem where I live). The Citizen Leds are the BOMB!!!....They are very energy efficient and produce the same result almost of the high intensity lights (HID) while consuming less than half of electricity.
The taste of this strain is quite woody and pungent. The effect is relaxing and not overwhelming. You can still interact with others but will get you sleepy after some while. No signs of paranoia....just a bit of dry mouth and munchies :) ...Highly recommend this strain if you are into indicas.
