WEEK 5 ****DAY 29: 30/4/18**** Last week Tuesday I noticed some lime green tips on a few of the top leaf tips, I was thinking it was either nutrient burn or light stress/burn so I decreased the nutrients back down to 2.5 ml per litre instead of 4 ml per litre and raised the lights back up a few inches, but despite doing this I noticed towards the end of last week that there were a few lime green/ yellow tips on the new growth now, so now my guess is that it is in fact nutrient burn and I was not checking my PPM, I have hard water where I am so that was my mistake to not check, I was giving around 1000 PPM with out knowing. So for the last 2 days I have given 1 litre of plain pH 5.8 water per day only and will be dropping the nutrients back down to 1 ml per litre for MEDI ONE and 0.6 ml of Liquid Weight and that will bring my PPM down to around 400 - 500 PPM. As for today (Monday 30th April) I will not be giving any water, because I have also noticed a slight sulphur/ egg like smell from the bottom of the fabric pot I am using, so I have decided to ease off the frequency of the watering to allow the pot to dry out a little and allow more oxygen for the roots. I have also put the pot on top of a spare oven rack I had to raise it a little off the surface to allow air circulation around the whole pot. ****DAY 30: 1/5/18**** 10AM - PLAIN pH 5.8 Water - 1 LITRE I started to notice an egg like smell from the bottom of the pot and run off water, since then I raised the pot a little off the floor on an oven rack and let coco dry out a bit by not watering for 48 hrs and this has helped very well, the smell is now gone. ****DAY 31: 2/5/18**** 10AM - 500 ml of plain pH 5.8 water I have done some more LST today. Nutrient feed will be tomorrow as the last 3 watering's have been plain. The amount given will be 1 ml of MEDI ONE & 0.6 ml of Liquid Weight. People recommend to feed nutrients every watering when using coco so from next week I will start to do this and keep an eye on my PPM. ****DAY 32: 3/5/18**** 10AM - NUTRIENT FEED - 1 ml of MEDI ONE & 0.6 ml of Liquid Weight - pH 5.8 - 1 LITRE - 400 - 450 PPM ****DAY 33: 4/5/18**** 10AM - 500 ml of plain pH 5.8 water Since I brought my PPM down the new growth is looking really healthy with no yellow tips. My tap water is hard so when I added nutrients it sent my PPM way over the recommended amount for my young plant. ****DAY 34: 5/5/18**** 10AM - NUTRIENT FEED - MEDI ONE 1 ML & LIQUID WEIGHT 0.6 ML - 1 LITRE OF pH 5.8 WATER She has about 15 bud potential bud sites now. New growth is healthy and green. ****DAY 35: 6/5/18**** 10AM - NUTRIENT FEED - MEDI ONE 0.5 ML & LIQUID WEIGHT 0.3 ML - 500 ML OF pH 5.8 WATER ****WEEK ROUND UP*** This week I learned a few things about PPM and how it is important to track it through the grow, it is the answer to why I ended up giving my plants nutrient burn, I now have purchased a TDS meter and will be tracking PPM from now on. From next week I will be giving nutrients with every watering and see how things go, it has been recommended to do so by fellow growers, just keep an eye on PPM, I will be giving my normal dose of nutes for 1 feed and then 1/2 dose the next feed e.g Mon - 1ml - Tue - .5 ml - Wed - 1 ml etc.

Some of the tips of my plants leaves are a lighter shade of green than the rest of the leaf, what could this be?. I have raised light back up a few inches from 27 in to 30 inches in case it is light bleaching.

Hi, I can see what you're talking about, its only ever so slightly. Looks like the start of nutrient burn, best way to combat the problem is to feed your plants plain pH'd water for the next feed or two. Should see her new growth coming out healthier and greener if sorted early on. Hope this helps.

I don’t see it in any of the pics, but burnt tips is typically an indication of nutrient burn. You might want to consider backing down a little on your nutrient levels.

@DudeGrowsWeed thanks for the response. I just put up a close up pic. I also thought it could be nute burn but when I looked back through pics I could see that even before I added nutes there was a lighter shade of green on 1 or 2 leaves. It is only on new growth leaves on the highest points. I will ease off the nutes a little and see what happens.

@Al_Green, I think thats super mild nutrient burn. Light burn typically causes the tips to curl up and the leaves overall to start taking a taco'ish shape (edges curling). But if you're worried about light burn you could also try raising the light a few inches. Good luck!
