Placed seed inside Rapid Rooter and made a makeshift humidity dome out of a (clean!) Rotisserie chicken container, a heating pad, and a netpot to hold the rooter in place. I took a couple years between diaries but excited to come back and document and learn. I continued to grow in that time but always seemed to have issues. This past summer, I switched to soil and had tremendous success in our shortened summer (Alaska summers come and go pretty quick). I just bought good soil and wanted to go hands off nutrient wise just to see *if* I could get a decent harvest. Autoflower was NYC Diesel and inside was CBD Critical Mass and both were fantastic. After proof of concept, I wanted to do another indoor scrog grow but want to move away from hydro and take a good run at soil. Super excited since I kinda lost the drive for a bit but after a great summer I feel motivated.

She's 7 days old! Having a tough time keeping the temperature consistent in the tent. Outside air temps are about -10F or colder, so our old furnace struggles to keep our leaky house in a good range for her. Overall, she's not very thirsty and takes about 3 days for soil to dry the top and ready for more. Just put her under the big lights at 75% and 22" and will adjust as she tells me. Keeping in the solo cup to promote bushiness (grow to the size of her container) until I get a few nodes out of her.

Wow it's been a shit week. Gf wanted our lavender plant to have better light so brought it into the tent and within a day had thrips. Used Captain Jack's Dead Bug and took care of that. But now, I'm not sure why the leaves are turned down and yellow. Watering when the top inch is dry and has good drainage (cut holes on side and bottom of cup). Thinking maybe light burn? I moved the light up a few inches and dialed down the intensity

What could be causing my yellowing and dropping leaves? It doesn't appear to be nutrient related and initial thought was light burn but not entirely sure. She's young and hoping I can get her to bounce back

Seems to me that it is related to overwatering or cold.

Overwatering was the issue! Thanks for help folks. I had precut cut holes into the bottom of the solo cup but I guess they got clogged. I had to transplant early but the bottom soil was pretty soggy. After 2 days she perked right back up and had been happy ever since. I also used a mortar and pestle to crush 1 tablespoon of malted barley and spread it on top before watering. I plan to do this once a week or so. Again, thanks for the quick responses everyone!!

What a happy girl! Have added no nutes yet and letting the soil do the work for now (NFTG4+extra perlite). I have done a second dosing of malted barley that was hand ground and dusted before watering. Seems to enjoy the soil and light so far. Wish I could get temps up reliably but the electric heater had temp swings that were going to cause issues, so she's gonna live in the 68-72 day time and 64 nighttime for now Also! Wanted to include a short video of her dancing in the wind😊

Late post! Took these pics on Sunday (my usual diary day) but just got caught up in the work week. She's doing awesome so far I think. Gave her some crushed malted barley and a good watering and seems to enjoy her soil so far. Have not added any additional nutes as of yet since I'm still trying to decide what route I'd like to go (SST or use the Botanicare line I already have). I intend to SCROG her and will be topping her this week at the 3rd node I believe. I'll see what makes sense once I'm ready. Ideally, I'll take the topping and try to get it rooted but space is limited so it may not happen this round

Added first round of nutes this week! My intent was to top her this past week but knew I wanted to give her the first feeding to see how she'd respond before stressing her out. Been about 24 hours since her feeding so will likely top this evening. I kept the solution pretty weak for the first round at 520ppm (including 100+/- from filtered tap) and pH at 6.7. I am thinking I'll go feed-water-water-feed while listening to her unless someone has some sage advice!

Another week in the books! I topped her 6 days ago and she responded super quick! I did a another round of malted barley (mortar and pestle to crush). Waiting for top soil to dry and do another feeding. Outside temps are -35F so indoor humidity is low and had to bring supplemental heat to keep temps above 70. Edit: she was ready for a feeding today! Ppm landed on 800 on the nose at pH 6.6. I'm in the process of assembling my SCROG screen and will hopefully have it setup by the weekend

Got the screen put up on Friday, and by Saturday she was poking above it! Went about 9 inches above the soil for the screen to make sure I can reach under for feedings. Also gave a feeding of 1Tbsp of crushed malted barley for enzymes. Growth doesn't seem as explosive as I was hoping but not seeing any deficiency so I'm leaning towards genetics (CBD specific strain, maybe slower veg??) but hoping she'll start to pick up the pace soon

Is the yellowing of the leaves normal? Seeing light areas between veins makes me think light was too close (had it around 14 inches away and have since moved it up). Otherwise she seems to be slowly chugging along. Did a watering until runoff and got 770 ppm and 5.8pH. not sure why the growth seems like slow for this stage and hoping she picks up the pace, my supply is running low!!

Late update!! I missed a week or two since I was out of town on and off so didn't have time to update. I flipped the lights and she's about a week into her stretch and looking good. I did one feeding with veg nutes the day before the flip and a minor defoliation the day before feeding. There was no observable lag from growth. Did another defoliation yesterday to make sure all the potential bud sites had ample light and cleared some unnecessary leaves under the screen. She's drinking quick and drying out her soil in about a day and half and is a thirsty girl!

Pistils are starting to develop and this update is a few days early (since I'm headed out of town). She seems to be moving right along and having no apparent issues! Always nervous when I leave the ladies at home alone and crossing my fingers I can have a buddy give her some water while I'm gone since she'll be a day late when I get back. I decided adjust and let more grow through the screen to get some more vertical bud growth. Typically I keep shifting branches about but end up with tons of little nuggets that don't have a ton of stem and bud sites to grow up from.

Not a whole lot to report, which is a good thing I suppose! She gets about 3L of nute solution every 7-10 days, then 2 cycles of water before the next feeding. Each watering is also 3L and ground up malted barley on each first watering after a feeding. Pistils are coming in strong and starting to stink the place up (in a good way!)

Kinda miscounted my days from flip and fed kinda hotter than I intended but she seems to be soaking it up! No signs of nute burn or anything that I can see. She's starting to smell more outside the tent but certainly VERY pungent when the door is opened.

I think I had this problem at the beginning of my grow but not sure if it's the same issue. Is this pale/yellowing of the leaves overwatering related, or nutrient related? Pics are on day 30 of 55ish

Sorry for the late update! This will serve as 2 weeks since I missed a week of updates. Still unsure of what caused the early yellowing. I did see the answers but results were not definitive. I flushed with pH'd water and got 6.9 pH runoff with 520 ppm. Took a few days to dry out and just re-fed with slightly lower EC/ppm (1.8/1220) to see if that helps. She has not seemed to be stunted and appears to be fattening up! She's at about day 42 as of today (pics were taken 2 days ago).

10 day update! Pics were taking on day 52. I went with pH'd water on day 52 since the strain is estimated at 55-65 days for flowering, thinking this would likely been on the tail end of that range due to some nute issues a few weeks ago. She's recovered well and is progressing nicely, getting fatter each day! Trics are mostly clear with a spattering of cloudy. Still not sure if I'll do a weak nutrient solution or stick to the pH'd water when she's thirsty in the next couple days (very open to suggestions!)

Day 62!! I'm terribly impatient and it's driving me crazy lol. Trics are starting to get more cloudy but haven't seen much amber at all (aside of the one or two randomly placed). She's popping out new pistils and getting fatter each day. Smell has breached the tent and surrounding room with a sweet, pungent stank. Expected timeline was 55-65 days and I assumed it would be on the later half, might extend a few days past depending on tric development

Today is Day 65 (55-65 day strain according to Dinafem). It's been about 2 weeks since last feeding and she's had just pH'd water since. Trics look mostly clear with a handful cloudy, and sparse amber. How much longer, and should I do a light feeding?

She has a good week or two at least. Personally I have never found flushing necessary and feed bloom nutes and molasses to feed the microbes up until I chop.

Well shit, still here.. waiting impatiently lol The week+ in early/mid flower that had some nutrient issues seems to be causing the delayed harvest. No issues to report, she's fat and happy! Two branches will probably need external supports as they are leaning pretty hard from her weight. I found my 60x loupe so was finally able to get a good look at trics. Some cloudy, some clear, some half and half, with a few amber sprinkled around. Not sure about this specific strain, but my intention is to harvest when I have as close to 0% clear as I can so long as ambers don't take over at that point. I'd be stoked for 85% cloudy, 10% amber, 5% clear

I certainly did not expect to still be flowering, so thanks for the comments helping me tune it in! Also, very glad I fed her last week! Super happy with these genetics! The plant was hardy and resilient and was able to withstand suboptimal temps/humidity at times (winter in Alaska can be brutal even for indoor plants!). I've been super pleased with Dinafem so far and look forward to checking some other genetics from. Massive props to all the folks here who helped along the way!! The information was invaluable and genuinely appreciate this community 😊
