DWC_LED | OG Kush (Reserva Privada)

Hey guys! Welcome to my RP OG Kush diary! My favorite strain all time is the og#18, I had more than 50 successful plants back in 2013-2014 and it is by far the dankest/most pungent/strongest pine/fuel/herby kush smelling & tasting (and hardest hitting most euphoric K.O.) bud I have every had. I wanted to try growing og#18 again (despite reading online that apparently its not the same anymore 😰 ). Anyway the og#18 is supposedly a chemmy/sour phenotype of this og kush - which I got as a freebie! Very excited to grow this one, I read soooo much about og kush back in the day when searching for the 'strongest best tasting strain', however in coffee shops in the Netherlands I have never had any good og kush so I don't really know what to expect, but still have high expectations 😛. The plan is to have 4 plants this run, with 2 big ones (Kmintz and OG Kush) which will go into bigger 30L dwc buckets and 2 smaller ones (purple punch x dosidos and la x sorbet) which will remain in these 12L water capacity oxypots. Gonna mainline/manifold this one and will need to tame her stretch since the other strains it is growing with are indica dominant short/medium stretch genetics. Topped on day 24. LST on day 27.

Day 41 update: She is growing the most vigorously of the bunch! 😛 Will need to tame her size, she probably also has the most stretch of the group so will top her the most often I can... 😃

day 48: Topped for the 3nd time a few days ago. She is growing by far the most vigorously of the bunch, topped her to a low internode to keep her short, will need to tame this beast in flower :D All going slow and steady --> not using enough air pumps to get full potential from the DWC system, but anyway they have another 30+ days before moving to the flower tent so don't want them too big either.

Day 55 update: OG Kush growing vigorously!!! She had a lot of foliage, removed more than half the plant during the last topping (4th topping, currently16 main growth shoots)! Trying to keep her low, anyway she will definitely become the largest plant of the group... Looking forward to seeing the stretch in flower 😜 So far very easy plant, responds well to training, grows vigorously and is the last to complain of the bunch I have! 😀

Day 69: OG kush doing great! After topping for 16 main growth shoots her growth slowed down by a lot!!! However she is finally picking up and growing a few cm per day again 😀 I have the highest hopes for this plant, hopefully a true piney/fuelly og kush with euphoria waves and 'in the moment' effect 😀😋 Flower starting in 2 weeks approx

Day 88: Vigorous growth, having a hard time keeping her as short as the rest! 32 main branches... :D

moved to larger hydro reservoir in bigger tent under stronger light did a big defoliation, left top 15cm started flower

normal hybrid stretch I expected her to stretch a lot (og kush genetics in dwc...) so topped her for 32 tops to make her bush out more, so far she is filling the space evenly :D drinks the most water of the group

stretching nicely! she is filling up a bit more than 1/3 of the tent she is stretching pretty evenly, easy so far :D the buds are developing early! (compared to the rest, she is in advance)

Defoliated 2 days ago, she is reacting great! filling up nicely, she is producing more buds that the other plants but not much thc so far. Easy plant to keep healthy, good internode distance and plenty of buds :D

She is filling out nicely! Taking up all the space she was allowed to! "long" buds for topping her to 32 main branches! She really reminds of Chemdawg with the dark green thin round sugar leaves in the buds! It doesn't look as good as modern strains but Chemdawg lineage tends to look like this and packs a punch :D :D :D She doesn't smell much yet, but will come end of flower :p

==> Decreased the base nutrients for less Nitrogen She is doing great! Calyxes swelling slowly and uniformly :) Looks more and more like a Chemdawg family strain grown in hydro, as she should :D Will be the biggest harvest, doesn't smell too strong yet and doesn't have the most resin but OG Kush is a legend and the looks don't always correlate with the quality of the effect and flavor. I still have very high hopes for her :D

Day 42 defoliation later today! 😛 She is doing great! 😃 Buds are still filling up 😎 When I open the tent a nice sweet herby smell fills up the room 😀😛 however this og kush doesn't smell strong yet She is going to harvest most of the 4 plants clearly, I hope she has that DNA genetics kush taste and effect that's all I need to be extremely satisfied 😍 ==> lowered the EC considerably to 1.0-1.1 (by lowering base nutes, still same does of bloom booster) to reduce chances of getting grassy smell/taste. She seems to handle the new nutrient dosage well with dark green leaves and no burns/deficiencies for now.

==> lowered light power to 75% ==> Planned harvest date in 18-28 days, which would result in 70-80 days of flower (documented as an 9 week/63 day strain in breeder info, and +14 days on top of breeder info is normal) ==> Will feed without nitrogen starting tomorrow ==> Showing slight nutrient deficiency (molybdenum and calcium) at EC of 0.9 --> increased EC to 1.2, ph stable around 5.8-6.1 She has some early amber trichomes, but still mainly transparent 😅 She is starting to smell a bit (she didn't smell much before), she has a bit of a pine/forest smell with a bit of kush notes but not much yet 😋 When rubbing the buds by hand it is not very oily and I really need to press a bit to get sticky fingers, and then when I rub my fingers I get more of a kushy smell 😅😋😋😋 Removed 1 banana... I was expecting her to hermie anyway but I think she is not big fan of the strong led grow lights (which is now reduced to 70% power) Some of her buds are 'flat' on top (3rd pic)! And buds still swelling overall so looking like a pretty nice yield for an og kush... 😁😍

==> Lights set to 60% power for last 10 days Harvested the next morning (day 66 flower) before lights on! 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀 Some of the buds have pink and purple notes!!!! 😋😍😋😍😋😍😋😍 Some of the leaves started to fade nicely! ====>>>> 😍😋😍 A STRONG DISTRINGUISHABLE 👹 BURNT TIRE 👹 SMELL ARISES WHEN RUBBING HER FLOWERS !!!!!! 😍😋😍 <<<<<====== She should have flowered at least another week or two... but she showed nanners weeks ago so I harvested her early, she will have a lot of popcorn... ***** HARVESTED ***** Dry method: ........................ entire plant upside down in 18-19c 55%rh Dry time: ............................... 9-10 days (fluffy buds but still nice quality) Dry weight: ........................... 135g Yield per square meter: ... 607.5g/m^2 Current rh in pots: ............. 68%rh (aiming for 60-63%) ************************ ===============> Will update with pics and most importantly the smoke test, rosin press results & review AFTER 6-8 WEEKS OF CURE :D
