This first week was setup preparation for grow an finally planting seeds in soil. I have had a lot of success with pre-soaking seeds in 50/50 hydrogen peroxide distilled water for 24 hours. Then planting directly in soil in the size pot they are staying in due to autos not liking transplant. Seeds were soaked for 24 hours and planted 1/4 inch deep in Fox Farms Happy Frog Top dressed with Ocean Forest in 5 gallon Fabric Dirt Pots I left them in the dark for 3 days then turned lights on 18/6 cycle five days later plants are starting to pop up Gorilla glue and Grapefruit are the first to start. Day 6 all seeds but one grapefruit germinated I expect by end of day today or tomorrow it will pop up started spraying seedlings with liquid seaweed diluted in a spray bottle. Trying to get more light having shipping trouble. Last grapefruit finally popped up day 7.
This week I had couple of plants that seem slow to grow but they were the last plants to germinate. I started out watering with Big Bloom then quickly realized it didn’t have enough nitrogen so I switched to Grow Big in hopes of correcting the lack of vegetative nutrition. I’ve been watering about every 2 days. The temperature in my tent was getting to high so I opened the lower vents. I added two 315w CMH lights by Vivusun so I now have a 630w CMH in the middle of my tent flanked by the 315w lights and some LED lights to fill the rest of the tent. One plant seems to have color variations and curling leaves but the rest seem ok. I’m not going to make to many changes this next week and I’ll continue to use Grow Big every other watering. Overall I’m pretty happy with the outcome so far.
I stopped using big bloom and went to strictly Grow Big during my veg stage. I have added some epsom salt and black strap molasses. Most of my plants have seen significant growth besides the two runts and one variegated grapefruit which seems to exhibit signs of he or light stress which would make sense because it is lacking chlorophyll besides those three plants the rest seem to be very healthy with no issues.
This week there was an incredible amount of growth. Even in the little runts the last 2 that popped up. Lots of different phenotypes in here. The variegated plant continues to show signs of stress no matter what I do I even moved it around trying to find a happy place for it but had no luck. Overall I’m happy with the progression considering these are only three weeks old. Strawberry Pie is starting to show her sex with some nice wispy pistols.
Some of the plants started flowering this week. I surprised that there are so many different pheno types all Fast Buds seeds feminized autos. We’ll see how they turn out in the end.
Buds are starting packing on more everyday these truly are Fast Buds lot of flowers for week 5. The Gorilla Glue is a short bushy condensed plant where the grapefruit and strawberry pie seam stretchiest more sativa appearing plants.
Still stacking up buds starting to fill in. I just realized one of my bulbs blew out. So I will replace as soon as I can get one. I have been watering every other day alternating plain water with Beastie Bloomz every other watering. Strawberry Pie is really getting full of resin really sticky has a stronger smell than the others with that strawberry smell really coming through
Still stacking up grapefruit is not as impressive as gorilla glue and strawberry pie. One of my Vivusun 315 watt CMH ballasts stopped working after only a month’s use. I’m trying to get a replacement but the company is making me jump hoops for warranty. I have had a Topolite 630w CMH for three years and it’s still working great. I cut lights down to 12/12 to see if grapefruit will start to stack up. The smell is definitely getting stronger with the sticky strawberry pie being the strongest.
Not there yet checking trichomes starting this week. Probably have 2-3 weeks left. The strawberry pie continues to outshine the other strains. Gorilla glue is a close second with nice dense buds but not as many trichomes. The grapefruit may be a late maturing plant it seems like it’s starting to stack up but has a long way to go I’m guessing 4-5 weeks so not so impressed with the grapefruit for an auto. The grapefruit is acting more like a photo as you can see in the pictures the tallest plants are grapefruit. Only time will tell but I like autos for there fast turn around time if I wanted a plant that takes 12-14 weeks I would get photos and get bigger yields.
Starting to ripen up probably another week or two on gorilla glue and strawberry pie the grapefruit is just now packing on bud so I’d say maybe 4-5 weeks left on grapefruit. Little bit of amber showing on the gorilla glue. Mostly clear yet on the strawberry pie. Overall happy with gorilla glue and strawberry pie. Grapefruit not so impressive yet. The smell is quite strong at this point and is getting stronger by the day with the really sweet notes of strawberry and the earthy medicinal smell of the gorilla glue.
Ready to trim. Gorilla glue and strawberry pie turned out great couple of grapefruit are ok overall happy with the outcome. On to the next round of fast Buds seeds.
