Soaked for 18hrs in spring water, then paper towel method (no cover). kept papertowel moist and , well..... that's it (one seed was gifted to a friend)
Day 0 - 7. I was going to the grow daily with small amounts of water. A handful to a cup or so at most for the first few days. Going to be Mostly paying a visit to the tent every 2 days or so after this point.
These are really making me happy that i switched from bag seed and clones to real genetics and from a seedbank with reviews and all that jazz. This grow is being done at a friends in his veg tent while My family and i look for a new home.
Over the days these little opnes have surprised me. the strength wjile pulling my hooks back up, the amount of vigorus growth. I've never grown an Auto before. and i have to say, I am enjoying myself so far. ( also finding grow diaries was a cool thing, saves me buying notepads.
For the initial LST i use my index finger as a support for the main stalk and then m,assage the bend area with my thumb. not to quickly. just rub with a bit of pressure untilk it bends then support your bend. cut coat hangers work great for someone starting off or in a bind. I started now because they were passed 3rd node and already showing signs of the lowers starting to pop. After coming back and seeing the hooks had been pulled up while the ladies stretcxhed back up. very happy to see the strength! Getting to ther tent on the 30th had me very stoked!!! Seeing the lowers sprout and start popping like this, i think ill be sticking to this method for a good long while. The rear plant however has not been showing the same amount of growth andremains a bit clear in the middle. Hoping I didnt kink the main while massaging it down for the LST hooks. not giving up and she will run the full cycle .
The LST has been doing a great job on the front plant. I counted 8 nodes reaching up so far (jan 3rd) I took the top one last time a pulled her back down. this will be the last one she gets outside of supporting branches and buds, or opening up the middle for air flow. But that wont be for a while .
The rear plant has shown some good growth in the last 2 days. i am going to just leave her alone and see what happens. i do not want to push a runt to hard ( if thats what is wrong, maybe i messed up along the way somehow). either way I am so far satisfied that The Auto grow will be loads of fun and alot to learn from...
Jan 6th. one day left of week 4. no signs of flowering yet and i top dressed again today after not watering for 3 days, wanted them to be thirsty and for sure wanting for the day I top dressed. they both got 2 Tsp of uprising foundation and grow. and i tossed in a .5 Tsp of uprising bloom as well. I have the Roots organics Elemental on the way for a needed Cal/Mag boost. but that won't be here for a few more days at best 6 days. I am still very much enjoying the grow and they are so far very much hassle free outside of the rear one being a little stunted. again , i could have did something to cause that to happen.
Day 31 since sprout ( week 5 ). The front plant is still outgrowing the rear plant. I counted 9 top sites so far and we still have quite some time left. the rear plant is doing much better and has for sure shown lots of healthy growth since i was worried about it being a runt a couple weeks back. The girls are in flower now and will be getting some bloom nutes in a few days when the Cal/Mag mix shows up. Monday these little ones will be heading to a new Vivosun 2x4 tent with a Spider Farmer SF2000, to take them the rest of the way.
Jan 13th: The Calmag showed up, and the girls were looking a little droopy from the move so i thought. Maybe the new SF2000 is a bit much and its now up a nit higher. intensity still around 80%.. I think they are a bit over watered and maybe a bit deficient , but hard to be sure until i get my soil PH tester and then give them a few days hopefully letting the water level lower.
Well, The end of the last week i had gotten the Elemental and decided that i needed to put it on right away ( will not be happening again) and that caused an overwatering issue which pretty much seemed to stop growth for about 3 days... They were super droopy and all yellow. Looked like a sulfer shortage but, ( not a N deficiency) best thing i did was just sit and wait. now after about 4 days the color is coming back super fast and they are both growing and showing.
Jan 21. the girls are back to lookin like they should.. still a lil droop on one of the girls but that should be gone soon.they were completely dry when picked up again so not worried about another over water. took some of the leaves athat are covering bud sites and some of the more yellow or damaged lowers and internal leaves as well, maybe 5 or so leaves per plant. the bud sites are starting to swell up. now we wait and watch to see if these buds will be what we hoped!
Jan 28: The first plant is still showing some issues. I am thinking maybe the microbes in the worm castings are spent up and as i have not added more at all.. or its deficient in nitrogen still... I've actively kept both plants the same as input goes. so not sure why on is doing pretty well at this point and the other is adding uo to look like some larf poof. maybe shock from the move to a new LED? The lack of new microbes ie the worm poop? or did i just skimp out and am playing catch up on an ongoing N shortage and recovering from an overwater? notes to look back on and more things to learn from. either way: $ cups ( solo) of water today and a TSP of elemental for the last time. one more feed coming and then its done. so we shall see what we get. and readjust from there. any one have any input, im all ears?
Jan 31: Had ordered some of the Roots organics Super phos, oreganism, fish protien. 2:3 are here. so i top dressed a half tsp of the super phos, a tsp of grow for a N boost ( needed) plus a tsp of trhe oergansim. not even sure if that will do much. but some new roots wouldn't hurt. after top dressing re-cal on the PH meter just to be sure and that was on. so a 2 cup water @ 6.25 today just in case the PH was off on the last to waterings causing the yellowing at the top..... I think I've covered alll things on this one... the runty onbe is still somehow being the beast of this grow. stacking up super nicely, really just hoping i can get them, buds to fatten up and get dense.. the bush is upset and hopefully will be saved a make something of herself. boticed that some leaves were showing signs of cal/mag deficiency. Removed those and wil be watching for new growth/fans having the spots. other than that we are over Day 50 since sprout and things are getting to be toward the final weeks.
Feb 4: Starting off week 9 a lil rough. color is fading from the top down and it looks i think like a sulfer / mag deficiency. but ill be posting a question shortly. the one on the left i think is to far gone and won't end up being much at all. I don't think she took to the switch from the old light to this new one all to well.... not pulling it yet. The middle plant looks super good and is stacking great.. but if i cant traet this deficiency then it'll be done son.!
Feb 7: select defoliation, and 3 cups water.. that's all.. and pending chaos, that's all it's going to be until i harvest. starting to see some trichs now
Feb 11: Select defoliation again, and 3 more cups of water. I guessed they would be ready by the 25th when they sprouted... but i don't think that is going to be the case. shock from the tent/light change maybe stunted them to much and they won't fill out much more. lesson learned either way. I'm starting to see thricome development on the middle plant but also seeing the hairs start to turn ( I know that isn't a tell tale sign of ripe but still it is at best an hourgralss for being done) the left plant is however going to most likely not become anything at all.. but if it does end up with anything it will be some decent butter hopefully....
Feb 14: Water was a bit low in PH today at 5.98 and i was out of PH up so i went with it.. flooded the top and let it sink in then one more time.. wont water agin for a few days due to work and weather, Yay Michigan.
From what i understand these ladies are normally done from 60- 75 days. and we are in the middle of that. I for sure light shocked them heavily when i switched them into the new tent with the SF2000. and it was set right at 80%. The Fastbuds i am running next will start in that tent and will be a better run all together!
.
Another week we wait.
Feb 17: hopefully the Final week begins, hoping to see some more frost development, but not looking that way. the middle girl is looking like she might yield a bit. if the buds dense when they are done with dry/cure. the other will be made into butter, if anything at all comes from it. just water and waiting now. they can flush out for this last week.. day 66 i believe, so maybe 10 more days.. lets keep checking
Feb 23: the left plant has gotten a bit fatter, and has griwn a bit over the last days. maybe leaving her a few days longer will be ok. day 75 rigth now and the middle one is starting to ripen. but seems like there is a fair amount of days left before it'll be done. maybe another ten or so. 2 cups of water each and no more until they are nice and light to the touch. guessing 4 days or so. weather has gotten nicer outside and the psycho snow/ cold chill we had is now gone (not texas). so maybe some cold slowed the feeding down. getting to be that time though.
Feb 27 : The fade is coming in heavy, and growth has stopped on the middle one. She is dense, more so than I thought. Just about ripe as well. Still clear thrichs and no cloudy at all yet, so it should only be a few days now. This is day 79. and i don't thinkj she will make it to see 90. but , until then i wait.!
The left girl has added on some bulk. the stigma are still white and stretching so I am going to extend her cycle on after I harvest the middle one. Kinda wanna see if she will gain a bit more weight, or if she will cycle ot and be blah. I'm hopefull that it will at least ripen up and get dense. small nugs are still nugs. Considering i didn't think she would survive the shock, I am happy to see the growth of some decent sized lil SMoL guys on her. they might make for a decent press or BHO blast. maybe some terps at least in lou of moderate THC.
Mar 01: with the fade being this close to done but the buds on the left plant not being close, I added some worm casting to the smaller plant and watered hoping to add a week or so worth of help to her finish somewhat strong. she isn't all too dense but will for sure make a good amount of tincture. The middle girl is starting to turn cloudy. the color fade is close to being the right time. and seems to have some soft bluish/purple tips on the colas. I am pretty excited to run the last 2 seeds from the pack i got a bit later down the line and see what i can do with them in round 2. not much longer now and the time will be right!
Its day 85 since sprout and Fade is in and we have 5 days max until chop day. i'm guessing 3 days but either way it will be harvest time for the big girl this week.. the left plant , I have decided, is going to finish it's life in the pot. when i harvest the other one i will do 1 final watering on her and then she will have 2 days in the tent to soak up, finished by sitting in darkness until she is dried enough to shuck for cure.. I've heard good and bad things about trying this, and recently smoked some that was done this way. I gathered it was worth trying, especially on one that was stunted and not going to be a big yielder.
Mar 10: Still showing lots of clear trichs on the middle one.. but Sunday is the day for sure ready or not. the other one has at least 2 weeks left so says the looks of her.. but thats way longer than i've seen and have heard for an auto. we shall see.. harvest coming up next
Mar 17: Day 97 the middle plant will be chopped and hung to dry today. she is cloudy and ready. the other two will be ridin it out a bit longer. not developed enough to be cut. but also to close to feed one last time... so another week and thats that for this grow. I have learned alot about Autos on this run. I wil be doing more runs of autos for sure. learning as much as i can as i grow. after the one i chop today dries it will be getting bucked down in to a grove bag to cure for a min of 30 days. Harvest report will be updated then
Took down the 3rd auto today. so now it's just the one that seemed like she wasn't going to recover. another few days and she will be coming down as well.. ill have seperate harvests for them. but only because of the damage done with the light shock and tent change
For sure made a few mistakes this round. Which would attribute to the quality of the flower. Overall i'd recommend growing these just because of how well they actually recovered from the light shock and the yield and quality i managed to actually get. these things really bounced back more than expected and were pretty damn stable the entire time. I am glad i gave autos a try. and will be putting some more seeds to water and strting a new journal for the auto tent part deux. Fastbuds edition.. Cropking. I was skeptical but you did me well... would for sure recomend to a first time auto grower or grower in general..
This grow was a lesson learning adventure for sure. I am however very happy with the outcome of not only the yiel dalone but the quality dense buds that were harvested. all 3 smell a bit different but it;s only subtle notes.. I have a list of some mistakes and missed things that i will be getting more attention on the next run. from light shock to a week of recovery from an overwater. and then a steady deficiency of i believe N and sulfer that kepot them from maintaining the green that i would have loved and that just adds to the quality of the bud. I was a doubter for cropking. and thought after starting these i made a mistake.. but damn these things are resistant to a hell of a lot... and im not blown away by the high.. .but it gets me there, the buds are dense and taste good while smoking smooth. plus the yield upward of 130g for the 3 plants... These plants grow for sure. and will be coming back to redo these with the final 2 seeds and see what they can really do. i did realize they like it a bit colder and were happiest in the 65 range. had a cold chill come through and they put on some good color. Next round coming and im excited for it. Dutch passion and Fastbuds
@GuerrillaNo_4, definitely a favorite of mine But, not all that common around me. White widow and girl scout cookies are the ones that I grew up on. Thanks for stopping by homie 😀👍
@CachimboDaPaz, Thanks!!! Just found out about this site a few days ago so it took a bit to upload it all and catch up. but , almost done with Week 4 now!!!
