I start lst on three moby dick and on the one critical plus in the end of thew third week circa, critical plus 2.0 showed a really slow growth, maybe duo to the old age of the seed (It has been conserved for two years).
In the middle of the 4th week, I have practiced topping on Critical plus and on one of the three moby dick.
I Found some pollinated flowers on the three moby dick.
I also found some banana on critical +, so i think the impollination is duo to her, confermed by the fact that I didn't find any others bananas in the others four plants, I found them too late to do something, they were already formed and opened.
Critical + also stopped his flowering in the closer weeks. After some week she started growing normally as before.
On the end of the 7th week, according to the needed seven weeks of flowering for this strain, critical + 2.0 was ready to be cutted. So I did. I put her in completly darkness the days after the 7th week, but just for 2/3 days and then I cutted. The quantity of resin it's really impressive.
In this week I stopped feeding with bloom bastic all the moby dick.
I'm still feeding the Critical + with B bastic that showed a stop of the flowering for some week. In this weeks of stop I gave just water to her the avoid any other demage or wrong situation. Then I resumed giving water and nutrients. Now critical + is still back growing and she goes on to the next stage of flowering.
I've already harvest one of the two critical(critical + 2.0), and this is the result.
I have some problem with temperatures, here in sicily(Italy) there are high temperatures yet, of 25/26° Celsius, so it's really hard to maintain an optimal temperature inside the growbox, even with a system for the air.
For the first Moby dick: The cycle was good, not so many problem except for the hot temperature in the last month, I think this plant has soffered the hot temperature, about 32° Celsius, and slow down the growth at some point. I harvested about 35/37 grams, not so good but neither so bad I think. The hot temperature of the south of the Italy can give you problems in the spring yet, so I think that temperature have the main fault
For the second Moby dick: well this two of the three MD grew up very similar, many colas, not so big, but enough to give me about 75 grams of dry weed and despite one was low stress trained and one was fimmed, their growth has been very similar.
The third Moby dick: strange fact, the third Moby dick has been only fimmed, not topping, and the respond was really impressive. A big huge apical cola and many others very big too. I don't know why the others plants seemed to be stressed by the hot temperatures, but this third Moby dick seemed to not be stressed by the hot temps.
I loved this cycle, I felt in completely aromony with all the plants, doing lst every day and all the other stuff, was funny and was a challenge for some moments. Show it here on grow diaries help me to give more attention and commitment by watching the others greats growers doing the best having awesome results. 12821128210
Well what can I say, critical is a solid strain when we talk about of what to choose when you want to start a new cycle. You can't go wrong whit it. I used many others times before this genetic and I can say that Its really reliable for what concerne taste, flavor and effect power. A really good high typical of an indica dominant plant.
About the growing: well, it responded very well and very fast to lst (expecily). With lst I reached a very good canopy shape with a good number of colas (about 16/18) and topping made the rest. Unfortunately this plant showed, at a some point a heavy slow down of the growth. For about 2 weeks, in the flowering stage, the plant didn't grow up, blocked by some shock. I think duo again to the hot temperature. I found also some male flower that can confirm that there was some stress. This stop has bad influenced the fullness of the flowers unfortunately, the duration of the cycle (it has finished after all the Moby dick) and at the end the wight of the buds, of course.
Two years? that seed is still a young'n! Don't forget those tough outter shells are made to withstand harsh dry winters. I've had perfectly viable seeds that are well over a decade old. While newer, fresher seeds are probably always better,
Nice job on the topping mate and done at the perfect time :)
Will be watching this with interest my friend :)
Best of luck with the grow and I'll drop back in on the next update :)
All the best
Mark..
I love the training work you have done and well done on the topping :) A great way to open that plant canopy up to expose the lower sites :)
Steady growth and healthy plants.
Nice work!
