Jan8 Following some pretty specific rules relating to the Seed Germination warranty.
And that’s Ok when you see positive results.
As directed, seeds in water for 18 hrs. No obvious tails, but both of the shells appeared cracked, and into the paper towel w/ water, folded, drained excess, darkness in an open room. Bang, tails. 3/4” and 1/2” in just over 24 hrs.
Right into Solo cup & plain potting soil.
Tonight (fri) the tent was established and ready for the grow to begin. Pictures to follow as relevent.
Seeds spent the afternoon on the window-sill and were put in the tent with lites-on and a 18/6 schedule.
** Thanks to the 3 growers for answering my question today. I don’t plan on stressing these autos and really appreciate the recommendations. New to Auto’s.
I’ll go direct to the big pot next.
Thx ~ d
Morning of the 9th.
-At the End of the very first exposure to light for these seeds, after being transplanted into soil and given 18 hours of light, One of the seeds has sprouted already ! That’s impressive.
Jan 10, On Sunday. the 2nd seed popped above ground and is doing fine.
- Week 1 starts soon enough for these seedlings
14th a.m. both seedlings look strong with the next wave of Leaves forming already. Definite growth happening
- tent re-organized & ready to go
15th Day 7 sees the Seedlings getting transplanted into the bigger, final Pot. During the transfer one of the solo-cup contents disintegrated while I was moving the seedling.
Gently I put all the pieces in the soil and watered.
The other seedling was no issue. The good news was that there is solid root development down to the bottom of the soil in the cups. Roots were aggressively sticking out the bottom 1/3 of the cups
When planting seeds directly to soil, Is it necessary to re-pot them into medium-sized containers... or does it make any sense to go directly to larger, final pot?
With autos I think it’s best to go straight from your starter pot into your final chosen pot size. Potting up multiple times is better suited to normal photoperiod type plants.
The reason for this is minimal transplant shock slowing growth and not inhibiting its root growth.
Happy growing buddy👍
@Mrs_Larimar, thanks again, I had lost track of How Much assistance I had provided to the plants, until I started pulling Wires & bamboo.
it makes perfect sense to have delayed full ripening a couple of weeks. First auto-grow, I appreciate the words leading to patient actions
@Roberts, fyi in my 40th year of appreciation… and 3rd as a grower. Lol so there is a bit of a database. But its beautiful that there are so many actual resources. questions = answers.
Man, what a beautiful harvest! I am new to all and on my first indoor grow. Autos are something I want to try. I found you by search for Beaver Seeds. I am an outdoor gardener, not cannabis, so I am familiar with seed quality. Beaver seeds genetics appear to be very good. Dude, you make me impatient with my garden. You do a wonderful job my friend! Thank you for the pictures and the detailed explanation and notes. Diaries like yours... help beginners like me. Thanks!
@Wyregrasser, Hey! you just made my day. Thanks for digging around and so happy you found something to chew-on.
This site is great, people will share facts and we all love the same things. I’m still learning daily…
