- Planning to employ some LST shaping in the coming weeks, no topping/FIMming.
Shaping the plant is more for space control.
*** this autoflower is hard to think about applying any shaping to, as the Nodes are right on top of each other, in a very short section of Stalk.
We’ll See where it goes.
Feb 2nd
- the leaves from the 7th node are visible. Hoping it flies into Stretch real soon.
-New Growth around the stalk and leaf junctions is full speed ahead.
- committed to feeding nutes and the levels are going up each batch.
-Bigger feeding circles on the soil, trying to make good use of the root space available
- feeding tonight & will check activity under the canopy
-molasses is a nutrient every other meal; not tonight.
** Last 2 pictures show there are branches to start LST with, and to find some sense under those leaves **
Feb 3rd
- trimmed the big fan leaves and exposed Bud sites.
- found the L plant main stalk to be close to 45degrees, in the wrong direction. Stood it tall with a stake. They are now equal in height while the R plant is slightly more developed.
- I’m giving the main stalk a couple of days to continue with it’s own kind of upward reach, And it is happening
- LST applied by the weekend.
* made a decision to feed these two autoflower plants at 50% of recommended Veg/Flower nutes; including Rezin, when we get there. Moving them up slowly.
Molasses, cal/mg & rapidstart will see use as needed.
It’s an “Economy-driven decision” from a sudden curiosity about autoflowers. (And an empty tent lol)
At the rate they are picking-up speed now, I will be watering them as one soon enough.
Feb 5 a.m.
- applied some LST to begin gently shaping the plants for my smallish tent. 24x24x64
- L plant has been kind of wrapped around the stake, to provide something to help lever the branch in the direction I need. Given its funny angle coming out of the ground, it’s an improvised rig that’s working so far.
- R plant no issues
- hard to see in the pics, but the plants main-stems are anchored to the back of the pot, and they are being gently pulled / shaped towards you.
PM
- LST completed & successful in finding a nice pattern for the branches on the plants. More of a horizontal orientation with Minimal loss of bud sites and leaves.
No hard-bends but over the evening a shape was applied
Feb6
- In the morning the plants looked spectacular after their LST Session last nite. Leaves have rotated to the lite and away we go. Leaving it as is for a few days to accommodate my bullying...
“impressed with these auto’s”
& the height is back to 4-5”
When planting seeds directly to soil, Is it necessary to re-pot them into medium-sized containers... or does it make any sense to go directly to larger, final pot?
With autos I think it’s best to go straight from your starter pot into your final chosen pot size. Potting up multiple times is better suited to normal photoperiod type plants.
The reason for this is minimal transplant shock slowing growth and not inhibiting its root growth.
Happy growing buddy👍
@Mrs_Larimar, thanks again, I had lost track of How Much assistance I had provided to the plants, until I started pulling Wires & bamboo.
it makes perfect sense to have delayed full ripening a couple of weeks. First auto-grow, I appreciate the words leading to patient actions
@Roberts, fyi in my 40th year of appreciation… and 3rd as a grower. Lol so there is a bit of a database. But its beautiful that there are so many actual resources. questions = answers.
Man, what a beautiful harvest! I am new to all and on my first indoor grow. Autos are something I want to try. I found you by search for Beaver Seeds. I am an outdoor gardener, not cannabis, so I am familiar with seed quality. Beaver seeds genetics appear to be very good. Dude, you make me impatient with my garden. You do a wonderful job my friend! Thank you for the pictures and the detailed explanation and notes. Diaries like yours... help beginners like me. Thanks!
@Wyregrasser, Hey! you just made my day. Thanks for digging around and so happy you found something to chew-on.
This site is great, people will share facts and we all love the same things. I’m still learning daily…
