Banana and Trainwreck taking off well which is very surprising considering those two accidentally fell over when planting germinated seed. Took me so long to find the seed among all the coco and perlite all over the ground. The G13 and Girl Scout Cookie were planted perfectly yet are having quite the start. In theory, maybe the cups thst spilled were more aerated and buffered as the others just had just water poured on top? Not sure. Banana has been strong since Day One. Other then the stem still not showing green, pretty decent start. Trainwreck is thriving and will most likely keep up with the Banana next to it. G13 started with two distorted leaves most likely from calcium deficiency. Then the second set, well... only one leaf grew. but it is a beauty. GSC started very strong. Color is a little pale and spotty making me think it needs more Nitrogen. Then second set altogether just hasn't grown. Light Green and small in color. May hit it with some Superthrive on next feeding (#5 or #6) Day 12 Update: Poor leaf development. Drainage Readings are on point. Not sure what the hell it is. Nutrient lockout? Grow Questions

I read defoliating throughout week 3 of flower is around the last time you should trim. I cleaned up the bottom real well, but Do you think I trimmed too many fan leaves up top? A lot my bud sites have one fan leaves and the nodes under it have none at all?

Hi there, your plants look healthy and well trimmed. From now on, you shouldnโ€™t stress them anymore and stressing them at late flowering stage can even lead to hermaphrodite or hermie.Let her grow happily until harvest.Happy growing... โœŒ๏ธ

High Frequency Fertigation in Coco, nutrient burn issue. I know I have to be careful w/ diluting substrate. Do I also need to always include some type of Cal Mag in my water, even if just topping off reservoir. Dial back nutes or increase fertigation frequency? H&G pic in gal

Hey there Kansas, I gotta admit I donโ€™t know why youโ€™re asking about this stuff seeing as how picture perfect everything is right now for you. If youโ€™re worries about the burnt tips , you might as well dial back the NPK just a touch , but if you donโ€™t the plant will muscle through it as it grows anyway. Same with the cal mag, yes you always need it , but youโ€™re already adding it. So donโ€™t stop. The fertigation frequency is less important following the wet dry cycle correctly . And youโ€™re doing totally fine. Hope this helps ! ๐Ÿš€

Plants are giving off strong plant like smell rather than bud smell. Almost chlorophyll or ammonia like. Is the white residue on the leaves signs of mildew or does it look healthy and it's just sugar?

They look healthy and yes those are trichomes aka the frost or sugar on your leaves not mildew. The smell is also normal and will get stronger like more of a bud smell.

Day 85 Update: G13 has a ton of fan leaves turning fast. Pretty sure it's a PH issue. Should I wait until they're dead to trim them off or get rid of every fan leaf that is affected more than 50 percent of the leaf?

@kansasscott725, so they have this device called bio wave its frequency that is specifically dialed in for cannabis supposedly. So I did some research and found they love 1500 2500hz one end stimulates root growth and the other end top growth. And the only instrument that can hit that is the violin.

@kansasscott725, canโ€™t really help it after the stretch, I like to leave them alone at that point, the plant makes hormones in the tallest parts and in my mind I donโ€™t want to mess with that? Idk just my theory lol. Most times i support it to be straight up also for bud uniformity as well. I kinda get ocd, thatโ€™s why I like training and scrog so much lol
kansasscott725
kansasscott725
@Festerus, Thanks for the update. I'll definitely be following now. We have very similar approaches. What are your thoughts on super tall sites after the stretch. Let them grow or tie down at 90 degrees and let sites grow all down the stem? I'd imagine you'll get similar results either way... just curious

Yeah close ups are hard! A naked eye rule I like, is you can tell when itโ€™s super sugary and glistens like diamonds, still clear. It will get duller in brilliance and youโ€™re almost there. Obviously this isnโ€™t scientific nor how you should do it, but I use that before I bust out the scope :) Also I use my cell phone and hold a lense to increase zoom, just me lol Great scrog tho sir!

kansasscott725
kansasscott725
@MrStryker, Ditto. Currently doing DTW in 70% Coco & 30% Perlite Mix. I tried this High Frequency Fertigation technique I found from The Coco for Cannabis site - https://www.cocoforcannabis.com/principles-fertigation-feed-water-cannabis-coco/ The results have been amazing, and though I am fairly new to growing, those with experience have been shocked at fast rate of growth. I probably could have switched to flower in week 3 or 4 and still had the same results (just smaller in height). Girls are in 3 gallon air pots, and I'm currently watering three times a day (each plant receives about half gallon a water during each feeding). I have self draining saucers that feed into the bucket inside the tent that also has a sub pump that pumps the water out of the tent once the water level gets to about 2 inches. My only regret is having four plants and trying to keep up with this watering system. They all require slightly different amounts of water, so unless I get four different pumps with four different timers, the automatic system is pretty much a high tech manual system. Never Flush or Rinse with fresh water... always include fresh nutes even if topping off reservoir. I've enjoyed this method over soil any day of the week merely because if there is a problem, it's most likely rectified in the next 1-2 feedings whereas with soil, if there's an issue, that issue will only get worse until you're "able" to water it again. Keep me posted on your RDWC setup. Highly interested.
