Left two seeds in a shot glass of room temperature spring water overnight and they both split open and sunk without being dunked with my finger. Transferred them to a moistened paper towel on a plate in a dark closet at 68 degrees Fahrenheit this morning. I will check the seeds first thing tomorrow morning. As soon as they have at least a half inch root tail sprouting, I have two 18 ounce Solo cups already packed with Fox Farms Ocean Forest with a 3/8 inch pencil tip indent to transfer them to. I typically only give plants a week in the Solo cups but, obviously, I will have to wait and see how much they grow and if they grow at all. Last CBDutch Treat grow I waited two weeks and when removing them for transplant to 5 gallon felt bags they had roots climbing back up the sides of the soil. So, two weeks might be too long. I want to see roots at the bottom of the packing not climbing up the sides to the light. At some point between now and next week, I will clean out two of my felt bags so there are no leftover nutrients soaked into the bags. I have also scrubbed the tent clean while everything is off the floor and the last grow is drying in there. When the last grow heads into mason jars to cure, I plan on rearranging my fan and light set-up in the tent. Currently the carbon filter for the fan is just sitting perpendicular with the floor supporting the weight of the fan. I would like to hang it as high as I can to clear up some real estate on the floor. I am excited this time around to try main-lining and light stress training. I have my fingers crossed that both of these seeds germinate well because I only have two seeds left for the next grow. Also hopeful that there is at least an ounce or two on the scales after drying of the last grow. I will update the other diary when I weigh them.

Not much going on. Both seeds germinated quickly and sprouted the morning after going into the soil. They are both an inch and a half tall today. Although, one has larger leaves than the other one. The smaller one had the shell of the seed stuck to the top of it its first three days poking out of the soil. Could explain the delayed size in the leaves? I'm not worried about it. Happy growing!
Not much going on yet. They're still growing, so that's cool. Wish I could get the humidity in the tent up a little higher. Bought a cheezy 500ml usb dehumidifier that has only brought the rH up from mid 20's to mid 30's. I'm aiming for 45-55% relative humidity. Oh well.
Not much happening this week. Next week they get topped. They're growing much slower than the last grow. The only things I am doing differently is: I've added a small humidifier to the tent and I've switched from Fox Farms nutes to General Hydroponics Flora series. If they don't start growing a bit faster, I might go back to the Fox Farms nutrients.
Switched nutrients back to my usual Fox Farm's routine as the General Hydroponics was TOO much and shocked both plants for a week. Next grow I'll try 1/3rd of their recommended amounts. Flushed both to get them back to growing and spreading. Topped both plants. Defoliated quite a bit. Some of the fan leaves were bigger than my hand. Opened up light to the lower end a lot. Tied the runt outward as it was all growing too close together even after defoliating. I will keep spreading that one out further and may do the same to the other next week before switching to 12-12. The runt is all twisted and asymmetrical. I have never seen that before. It is also growing out of the soil at an angle before twisting all over the place. I don't know if this is good, bad, or irrelevant.
UPDATE: (for my record so I don't forget) Checked on Twisted and her sister this morning and found two incredibly small bugs flying around that were not fungus gnats! Freaked out, topped both plants soil with diatomaceous earth then a mix of perlite, vermiculite, coco-coir, and Fox Farms Ocean Forest Soil ( 0.125/0.125/0.125/0.9625 respectively) about 1/2 an inch thick atop the diatomaceous earth. Added a sticky trap to each pot just in case, as well. Also removed the humidifier, had no problems with bugs until now, so it's got to go. The diatomaceous earth on the "normal", yet stunted, plant seemed fine after I mixed up measured portions of soil amenities but noticed "Twisted's" diatomaceous earth was caking and moist. Neither plant has been watered in over 48 hours, with another 24 hours to go before the next watering. I am assuming Twisted isn't absorbing ANY of the water it is being fed. I have never experienced this before. After checking the pH of the soil, they are both at 7. I typically use bottled gallons of spring water to feed them both whether it is a nute day or not. So I picked up some pH down and using tap water in a gallon bottle got the pH down to 5. Tomorrow when they get fed I will use that instead. Hopefully I can get the pH back down to around 6 even over the next few feedings. Which means keeping them in veg for a few more weeks until the rebound from whatever is going on.
They are both still slowly bouncing back from the nute shock but they are going to live. Switched to 12-12 yesterday and I think they are liking it. More healthy progress in one night then all last week combined. Guess they just needed a rest? Started using pH down and tap water instead of bottled gallons of spring water. I adjusted the water down to a pH of 5 as the soil has been hovering at 7. I would like to get it down to at least 6 but would prefer 5.5. Last grow, same seeds, same everything but nutrients (which I have switched back to Fox Farms), and the plants were far taller and thicker by this point. But, the soil was measuring between 5.5 and 6.5 the whole grow. So it could be the pH slowing it down but more likely the shock from over-nutes. I was going to give them one more week in veg but I changed my mind and I'm glad I did. I also changed them to 3/4 gallons of water every fourth day instead of 1/2 gallon. And sticking with nutrients every other watering. They seemed to be a tad droopy on watering day. Hopefully an extra 1/4 gallon keeps them fed for three days straight.
The twisted runt seems to be growing into itself even with LST pulling it away from its center. I give up on this one. Just going to leave it alone and let it do its thing. Many deformed fan leaves and completely asymmetrical growth. The monster, however, seems perfect. Next week I will defoliate again, especially the runt.
While the runt is lagging behind, it has many more flower sites than the larger sister. It is still all twisted, asymmetrical and awkward. I wasn't going to LST or defoliate the runt BUT ... it was too hard to look at growing into and twisting into itself. Plus, I couldn't get water and nutes to the soil without dumping it right over the top of the plant. Hopefully she will start catching up to the stretching pace of her sister.
Had to trim them back again. Couldn't see the lower portions from the top. I went a little overboard on the monster but she wasn't shocked or slowed by it. I took two lower clippings from the twisted, oddball runt for clones. I have never seen a plant like this one before. Twisted branches and main stem, asymmetrical growth, deformed leaves, super short, super bushy, you name it and this weird plant has it. I have also never tried to clone a plant once it has hit flowering stage. So it may be a waste of time but if they root, I will have two more oddball plants to watch grow funky.
The girls have been thirsty. Switched from 1/2 gallon each every third day to 1/2 gallon each every other day with nutes, tap water and pH down to 5.5 every other feeding and straight spring water in between. I think they are both done stretching and the buds are starting to fill out. The flower clone attempt still hasn't sprouted roots but it hasn't died yet either so I will patiently wait with my fingers crossed.
Not much to report ... getting some sugar on the upper leaves. Not much of a smell yet. Got my G13 Peach Puree seeds from Seedsman in the mail this week. I will germ 2 of them when it is almost time to harvest the CBDutch. I've read that a lot of people have had trouble getting the Peach Puree to germinate. I have my fingers crossed that isn't going to be me.
The girls are starting to smell stronger and a few brown hairs around but they're not done yet. Buds are heavy enough that foliar feedings aren't happening anymore, branches start drooping from the additional weight of the water. Oh well.
No more nutes. Flushed both plants this morning with a gallon of spring water each and will continue to do so every other day for about a week before harvesting them. They are close but not ready yet.
I can't comment on the taste and effects of this harvest yet but if it is anything like the last batch of CB Dutch Treat, it is a smooth smoke that tastes earthy and creamy and can be smoked anytime of day. The CBD is fantastic for my anxiety and keeps me calm and worry free. The THC is low enough that I can function as normal without couch lock or paranoia. It is also great a few hours before bed to keep me asleep through the whole night. The buds are dense and very sticky. While I had one of two this time around grow very awkward, it actually provided larger, denser buds.
I still have to fully trim these after drying but I'm guessing there is going to be about 2 ounces after cure.
I have already started on 2 Peach Puree plants and 1 Blueberry Fem in solo cups. Cleaned out the mess in the tent for the P.P. and am planting the Blueberry outside. First outdoor grow ever. I am excited and nervous about having zero control over the grow and letting nature do it's thing.
Update: 3 dried ounces! Started cure yesterday. I'm sure they'll lose a little weight during cure BUT ... I was hoping for 2 ounces and got 3! they aren't going to shed a whole ounce during cure so I am very excited. They smell fantastic! I will sample after a month. Then divide it up into 2 larger mason jars and give one to my brother who smokes a hell of a lot more than I do. He is usually an Indica guy but he seems to love the CB Dutch Treat. I'm sure it being free smoke is a perk. I love it too.
