This is not an easy grow.
Now that I have been in flower for a couple of weeks it is clear that I have 4 different phenotypes between 5 plants. They all seem to have different requirements.
Indica / Afghan pheno:
They seem sensitive to nitrogen. I have not fed them in over 2 weeks and they still show dark and slightly clawing leaves. Strange structure and bud development. This is the most affected pheno by variegation.
Small hybrid:
Height is similar to the Indica pheno but the structure is more like the sativa. Slow flowering. Slightly affected by variegation.
Tall hybrid:
Height is closer to the sativa pheno but structurally it is like an indica. This is the fastest flowering and the most hungry / picky eater. Normal leaves but it burns easily from overfeeding.
Sativa pheno:
This has been the easiest to grow but it is growing tall. It is the slowest flowering. No over or under feeding issues. Normal leaves with no variegation.
All of the plants were treated the same from the beginning but due to their phenotype requirements they have different problems at this stage.
Banana glue is an unstable strain as far as phenotypes go. Not for beginners.
I have yellowing leaves from the bottom up. It resembles either N deficiency, MG deficiency or both.
Growing in soil.
PH is between 6.5-6.8.
Feeding 1ml/L fish mix and 3ml/L bio-bloom every other watering.
I tried adding cal-mag with N at 1ml/L and if anything it's got worse.
Hey there ghettosetup, I have good news for you growmie ! What youβre seeing is scenescense , thatβs the βnatural twilightβ of the plants life cycle. Think of it as the sun setting on the plant. This usually happens towards the end of the grow , some genetics do this you do everything right. So itβs a good sign, and it will look fantastic. No need to pluck the leafs or do anything . You did well, congrats ! Hope this helps ! π
It looks like we have joined this grow at the perfect time π€
We are super excited to see how our Blackberry Gum performs as you enter flower/bloom (12/12)π€
Good luck my friend π
Kind regards,
Seedstockers βοΈ
@GhettoSetUp, This is very unusual and something we can only apologise for π
With every Seedstockers strain brought to market we go through rigorous testing prior to release and we have a few grows online with Blackberry Gum with very few issues occurring.
Drop us a message and we will do our best to rectify this issue π
I'm so sorry about this π
Kind regards,
Seedstockers πΏοΈ
@LgrowCollective, thanks for your comment man! I've done a bit of research and I think I know what's going on. Blueberry strain is prone to hermaphroditism. Couple this with the way that feminised seeds are made (reversing females to males) and we have the perfect storm for hermy prone seeds.
I should really have looked into this beforehand instead of learning the hard way, lol.
@GhettoSetUp,gutted for you and confused as Iβve grown these(auto version) and some cracking genetics and decent harvest from both separate grows..check my diary on here, one on ig with Kannabia ginger punch auto and the other 3 one I snapped at seedling stage accident and 2 didnβt push tap out even tho cracked in paper towel..π± absolutely gutted you have had bad experience with these but I urge you to try them again and maybe explain to SeedStockers what went on,theyβre a decent company with lovely customer support ποΈ
@GhettoSetUp,ecothrive are the dogs..Iβve just started a grow with their life-cycle and been using the biosys since last run π― recommended @ecothrive π―πποΈ
@Med_in_Tropic, that's right mate, a microbial tea essentially. There's a good product called biosys ecothrive that's designed for this purpose but I have also had success using cheaper general gardening mycorrhizae mixes!
It's a real sin for the BlackBerry Gum, it has the potential to be really fantastic! I'm curious to see what will be released from the Banana Glue, I took a look at her gene tree and looks amazing! I didn't know the Grower Choice Seeds and I must say that it offers many interesting varieties
@GhettoSetUp, Experience is always the best teacher π And all of us at least once tried to put too many plants together hoping to have as much weed as possible π€£
@HirdoWeirdo, thanks for your comment! I was disappointed about the BlackBerry Gum but I'm over it now, it was probably a blessing in disguise.
Looking at the banana glue in flower with it's many phenotypes I think I would have struggled for space with 9 plants.
I've learned an important lesson about planning my grow better and using stable strains π
People who like "fear and loathing" are trustworthy people in my opinion!!!
Enjoy the fruits of your labor!!

They make HPS glasses, for looking at your plants. I've heard of people using them as a filter for your camera. I've seen pictures through them, and they are not bad. I'm sure it takes time to figure it out, holding a pair of shades and your phone at the same time. But I believe it works. You can always shut the light off. I take pictures of my plants at night most of the time with no problems. But I'm sure there are people who will tell you not too. Good luck with the new light. HPS always makes great buds. π€
