4x blackberry gum germinated first, after 4 days in the soil the first leaves showed 🌱 I thought I was wasting space / electricity so I ordered more seeds, pots and soil. 5x banana glue arrived a week later and took 4-5 days in the soil to show growth. The seeds were unusually small and pale and one of the seedlings was missing a leaf having struggled to shed it's shell 🌱 The banana glue are around 14 days behind the blackberry gum - but they will all go into flower together in week 5 or 6 🌱

D7 There's not much to say yet, I'm still germinating half of the seeds. I'm much happier with the amount of plants planned now, I don't feel like I'm wasting space or electricity 💯 4x Blackberry Gum from seedstockers = 100% germination rate 🌱 5x Banana Glue from Grower's Choice = just gone into the soil 🌱 D12 I now have 3x Banana Glue seedlings and still waiting for the last 2 to pop. They seem slower to develop than the blackberry gum was at the same age 🤷‍♂️🏻 D13 We now have 4 out of 5 Banana Glue babies 🌱🌱🌱🌱

D14 Blackberry Gum: good strong seedlings with a lot of vigour 🌱 Banana Glue: these are developing slower than the blackberry gum did at the same age. They have struggled to shed their shells and one lost a leaf in the process 🌱 D16 After a wobbly start with the Banana Glue we now have 5x fully established seedlings. Hoping to give them 3-4 weeks of veg before I flip the tent to flower 🌱 D19 Blackberry gum: these plants are going crazy, very impressed with the vigourous growth with this strain 🌱 Banana Glue: still very slow to develop, I hope they speed up a bit once they've developed proper leaves, I don't have lots of time to veg them to make up for this slow pace 🌱

D21: Now we're cooking on gas 🔥 Blackberry Gum: continued good development, if they keep up this kind of growth I will run out of space in the tent 😁 only 21 days from seed and already throwing many side branches 🌱 Banana Glue: I gave these girls a Micorrhyze soak for their first full watering and it looks like it's done the trick on speeding up development 👌🏼they have come on leaps and bounds the last 24hrs and I look forward to them being more substantial by the end of the week 🌱 D26 Blackberry Gum: First feed last night of very diluted bio-grow 🚰 Banana Glue: They look like they can finally take the HPS starting from next week! One of them looks a bit mutated, we will see if it grows out of it 🌱

Apologies for the stripes on some of the photos, I've just switched to 600w HPS and my phone camera doesn't like the light intensity 📸 D28 Last week of veg for both strains. Blackberry Gum: these are seriously some of the healthiest weed plants I've ever had the pleasure to see in person. Stems becoming thick and fan leaves are huge 🍁 there's a mild smell of weedy blackberry after watering and at lights out 🌱 Banana Glue: These are 10 days behind the BlackBerry Gum but they're starting to catch up on growth rate 👌🏼 I have one mutant with twisted / rounded leaves but I'm not too worried about it as otherwise it seems very healthy 🌱 D30 Just water for both strains today. Feeding again in a couple days. They're drinking more and more 🚰 D31 Some mild heat stress on the Blackberry Gum but I think I caught it early, I've thrown an extra fan in between the canopy and the lamp to help circulate air. I've also spread out the plants now as the blackberry gum's are getting so large they were in danger of shading the banana glues 🌱 D32 I flipped to 12/12 starting last night with their first 12 hour day today. The Blackberry Gum was starting to shoot pistils and they're looking rather big. Considering the possibility of stretch I don't think I could let any of them get much bigger without running out of space further down the line! 🌼 D33 Hydrogometers / Thermometers added above and below the lamp so I can dial in better. Luckily it seems I was already running in range although perhaps a little warm. Fed them all with 2ml bio-grow and 1ml cal-mag per litre 🚰

D35 Flipped to flower on day 32 🌼 Blackberry Gum: They're not stretching up so much as stretching out. I'm glad I didn't let them veg any longer! They're turning out to be monsters. They stink too! Lovely dark colours from the blueberry parent.🌼 Banana Glue: I knew there was something funky about these from the beginning. They were really slow in veg but they've picked up in flower. They've also been showing a mosaic pattern and the odd bit of variegation. After some research it's my understanding that the chem lineage carries this trait and it's likely genetic (GG#4 parent is riddled with chem ancestors). I have ruled out a mosaic virus as the plants are otherwise healthy and it's not spreading. It was there from seed 🌼 D37 Fed the blackberry gum - I've swapped the bio-grow out for fish mix. It seems more gentle on the plants. I was getting slight N claw from the bio-grow. 🌼 The banana glue is drinking very slowly, I'm going to leave it til it's bone dry before I feed / water it again. 🌼 D39 Last night I fed them all with Biosys ecothrive soil inoculants. It's made them explode upwards and outwards! 🌼

D42 Blackberry Gum: very healthy plants! I've removed some large fan leaves to open up the canopy but nothing too extensive. Watered today with no feed 🚰 Banana Glue:. These weird little mutants still haven't shown any pistils yet, I guess they're still reaching maturity. I'm lollipopping them slowly as they grow due to space, I'm hoping that doing it gradually will reduce the stress levels 🌼 On the compost heap with the Blackberry Gum.. all 4 Hermed on me 😭😭😭 Just 5x Banana Glue now. D44 Banana Glue is really taking off 🚀 they're loving the extra space! D46 I've spread out the Banana Glues to make use of the newly available space. All they've had this week is water and one dose of biosys ecothrive. Couple of them are growing a bit weird with signs of variegation and some slightly droopy leaves but I think that's just genetic from all the chem lineage involved. Keeping a keen eye out for Hermies after the BlackBerry Gum incident but so far so good 🌼 D47 They seem to have stopped stretching now. They've stayed short like I intended when I flipped them to 12/12 after 2 weeks of veg. Lots of pistils showing at flower sites 🌼

All 4 Hermed 😭 They were super healthy, environment was dialed in and no light leaks. I didn't even do any training and only removed maybe 5 leaves from each plant. My guess is it's genetic. I will be going elsewhere for my seeds in future! Edit: to be fair to seedstockers I think it's my bad for choosing a strain with hermaphroditic tendencies in feminised form. Lesson learned the hard way lol 😅

All 4 were hermaphrodites. I don't think I did anything wrong... I guess it must have been genetic. Either that or removing a couple of fan leaves was enough stress to cause it. Seems unusual though.

D49 Bit of a mess last week, I had to cut the 4 blackberry gums as they all hermed going into flower 😩 I spread out the Banana Glue to give them more space for the end of their stretch. They seemed to spread out wider rather than grow taller 🌱 I have been giving them only water for the last week as they don't seem at all hungry - a couple of the plants take twice as long to drink the pot dry compared to the others 🚰 Slight MG deficiency on one plant but I stopped it in its tracks with Epsom salts! D50 I can't lie these banana glues are some strange plants. They just don't seem hungry. 10 days since last nutrient feed and they're still looking like they've had enough N. I gave them some more Biosys ecothrive today and that's all. I'm basically waiting for them to look hungry before giving them any flower nutes. Even though bio-bloom has low N I don't want to overdose them 🌱

This is not an easy grow. Now that I have been in flower for a couple of weeks it is clear that I have 4 different phenotypes between 5 plants. They all seem to have different requirements. Indica / Afghan pheno: They seem sensitive to nitrogen. I have not fed them in over 2 weeks and they still show dark and slightly clawing leaves. Strange structure and bud development. This is the most affected pheno by variegation. Small hybrid: Height is similar to the Indica pheno but the structure is more like the sativa. Slow flowering. Slightly affected by variegation. Tall hybrid: Height is closer to the sativa pheno but structurally it is like an indica. This is the fastest flowering and the most hungry / picky eater. Normal leaves but it burns easily from overfeeding. Sativa pheno: This has been the easiest to grow but it is growing tall. It is the slowest flowering. No over or under feeding issues. Normal leaves with no variegation. All of the plants were treated the same from the beginning but due to their phenotype requirements they have different problems at this stage. Banana glue is an unstable strain as far as phenotypes go. Not for beginners.

Flowers are starting to stack, all at different rates due to different phenotypes. I've given up trying to feed them all according to their different needs, they react unpredictably. Some are hungry and eating their bottom leaves while others look to be overdosing on nitrogen. I am now applying standard doses of dilute fish mix and normal dose bio-bloom to all plants. I think it will probably be a staggered harvest. The sativa pheno is likely to take the longest, with the hybrid pheno being the quickest. Indica pheno somewhere in the middle.

I have yellowing leaves from the bottom up. It resembles either N deficiency, MG deficiency or both. Growing in soil. PH is between 6.5-6.8. Feeding 1ml/L fish mix and 3ml/L bio-bloom every other watering. I tried adding cal-mag with N at 1ml/L and if anything it's got worse.

Hey there ghettosetup, I have good news for you growmie ! What you’re seeing is scenescense , that’s the “natural twilight” of the plants life cycle. Think of it as the sun setting on the plant. This usually happens towards the end of the grow , some genetics do this you do everything right. So it’s a good sign, and it will look fantastic. No need to pluck the leafs or do anything . You did well, congrats ! Hope this helps ! 🚀

I didn't expect them to mature so fast. They are fading quickly so I am only giving water with molasses, and biosys. I have already cut the large hybrid but I will do a separate post for the harvest 👨‍🌾 Smells like gassy dirty socks 🧦

This would be a great pack of seeds for a pheno hunter. I got 4 or 5 phenos from 5 seeds. I got 2 indicas, 2 hybrids and 1 sativa. To be honest the instability made them a bit difficult for a beginner to grow as all the plants had different nutritional needs. Although I did not grow them to their best, I am happy with the end result. These plants did seem to show traits of HEMP LATENT VIROID and there is a good chance that's why they were so difficult to grow. Please be aware of this if buying from growers choice.

I harvested 5 phenos on 5 separate days. Pheno 1 - Hybrid structure, mild / generic terp profile, fast flowering. 7 weeks. Pheno 2 - Indica Structure, fast flowering, gassy terp profile, 7.5 weeks. Pheno 3 - Sativa structure, gassy and fruity terp profile, 7.5 weeks (If I was working with mothers and clones this would be the KEEPER) Pheno 4 - Indica Structure, meaty / garlic gas terps, 7.5 weeks. Pheno 5 - Hybrid structure, pine terps, 8 weeks.

@GhettoSetUp, This is very unusual and something we can only apologise for 🙄 With every Seedstockers strain brought to market we go through rigorous testing prior to release and we have a few grows online with Blackberry Gum with very few issues occurring. Drop us a message and we will do our best to rectify this issue 💚 I'm so sorry about this 🙏 Kind regards, Seedstockers 🐿️

@LgrowCollective, thanks for your comment man! I've done a bit of research and I think I know what's going on. Blueberry strain is prone to hermaphroditism. Couple this with the way that feminised seeds are made (reversing females to males) and we have the perfect storm for hermy prone seeds. I should really have looked into this beforehand instead of learning the hard way, lol.

@GhettoSetUp,gutted for you and confused as I’ve grown these(auto version) and some cracking genetics and decent harvest from both separate grows..check my diary on here, one on ig with Kannabia ginger punch auto and the other 3 one I snapped at seedling stage accident and 2 didn’t push tap out even tho cracked in paper towel..🌱 absolutely gutted you have had bad experience with these but I urge you to try them again and maybe explain to SeedStockers what went on,they’re a decent company with lovely customer support 🕉️

@Med_in_Tropic, that's right mate, a microbial tea essentially. There's a good product called biosys ecothrive that's designed for this purpose but I have also had success using cheaper general gardening mycorrhizae mixes!

It's a real sin for the BlackBerry Gum, it has the potential to be really fantastic! I'm curious to see what will be released from the Banana Glue, I took a look at her gene tree and looks amazing! I didn't know the Grower Choice Seeds and I must say that it offers many interesting varieties

@HirdoWeirdo, thanks for your comment! I was disappointed about the BlackBerry Gum but I'm over it now, it was probably a blessing in disguise. Looking at the banana glue in flower with it's many phenotypes I think I would have struggled for space with 9 plants. I've learned an important lesson about planning my grow better and using stable strains 😅

They make HPS glasses, for looking at your plants. I've heard of people using them as a filter for your camera. I've seen pictures through them, and they are not bad. I'm sure it takes time to figure it out, holding a pair of shades and your phone at the same time. But I believe it works. You can always shut the light off. I take pictures of my plants at night most of the time with no problems. But I'm sure there are people who will tell you not too. Good luck with the new light. HPS always makes great buds. 🤗
