Week 2 of flower. Still stretching and canopy is nice and full. Transitioning to bloom nutrients. Did some defoliation on day 9 as canopy was very full
The foliage looks really dark green, so it's almost sure that you are over feeding, If you are going to use coco, then an EC/PPM meter is a requirement, else you are feeding blind and there is no soil to buffer any mistake. As for your watering, a quarter a gallon per day is too much, try half that, or even a third that amount of water.
Stretch seems to be going well. Removed all leaves below screen and lots of small shoots. 1-2 stems per square. 32 squares in total. Maybe crowded but I'm learning...have a good or more of room to accommodate height.
Think I've turned the corner last few days. Monitoring ph and ppm in and out and adjusting accordingly. I believe biggest issue was actually underwatering. As I'm growing in coco, need to water and feed daily until you get 10-20% runoff.. Lots of debate on the Web about this but it has been working for me. All three are growing much better now with color balancing out!
We have a similar set up from the looks of it. I'm a rookie too so I cant really give much as far as words of wisdom. Good luck I hope u nail it the rest of the way.
@420cfm,
I'll let u know if I learn anything knew that may be of value to your grow. I'm about to get another tent for my garage but it will be mostly for experimenting with light, training, trimming....
TW 1 is feeling light and will water tomorrow.
TW 2 is feeling medium weight and will evaluate tomorrow.
Ak seems unhappy but she is due for nutrients.
Have been feeding 1-1.5 liters every other water with nutes listed above.
Watering about 2L between feeds.
1 day between each.
Think I've been over watering and under feeding?
@Stick,Thanks. Going to cut back on frequency but up the nutes. Have been doing the mild vegetative dose at half strength (so 1/2 tsp per gallon) plus 1 tsp per gallon of camg. I'm thinking I'll do 1tsp per gallon of floraGro, floraMicro, floraBloon & camg. Any feedback on those levels appreciated!!
@420cfm, Probably both. I'm thinking about a Potassium and/or Zinc deficiency but I also see signs of overwatering, so you may want to feed them less often but with more nutrients.
Just read your whole diary...
You, sir, have the greenest of thumbs! I only hope that my re-entry into the purest of pastimes is half as successful.
Looking forward to seeing your harvest pics and reading your bud report.
Congrats on a killer first grow.!
Week 2 of flowering has been steady as she goes. Raised the lights up as high as possible to spread out the light. 4 daily feedings via drip irrigation. They've easily doubled in height so far. Lots of buds sites showing up. Following GH feed charts with good results so far. Light defoliation and tucking going on to keep everything exposed to light. Enjoying the garden a lot. Very relaxing for me.
Wow. Growth is going crazy. Need to flip then next day or two. Changes:
3x daily watering from drip rings at 10, 5 and 2 minutes. Switched out vinegar for phosphoric acid as ph down.
The two changes and things are moving!
Made a diy drip system with a 5 gallon bucket as my res. to start. Pump is on a timer so I can control feeding amounts. Made the drip rings myself. If they get clogged, will just dump out from the the connections. Got the dropper kit from the dollar store. Keep your eyes peeled for deals there...
So I'm running 2x 600w meizhi leds on veg only. Draw is 400watts and have them at the top of the tent (60"). With bloom on, this would be 500w draw. I calc at 62.5 w/sqrt with everything on. 50w/sqrt in veg. Is this too much light?
Did a flush yesterday. Only 1 gallon so more of a mini flush but some results:
TW 1 - ppm in 150 (added 1 tsp camg), ppm out 178. Maybe 150ml runoff. Ph 6.75. Need to lower ph and feed more often with slightly higher dose?
TW 2 - ppm in 0, ppm out 160. Ph 6.35. 500ml runoff Looks spot on to me. Maybe small increase in frequency of feeding.
AK - ppm in 0, ppm out 600, ph 6.6. 500ml runoff. Seems like I need to flush more. This wasn't transplanted into 7g pot.
Curious for feedback on these readings...
Transplanted into 7g smart pots last night. Have drastically cut down watering and have paused feeding for now. Ive also raised lights as high as i can for now. Probably at about 30"
How often should I be feeding?weekly? What ppm should I be aiming for? My water is 137ppm out of the tap.
Got a ppm meter and some 7g smart pots on the way...Have reduced watering and holding on feeding until meter arrives. I'm using a mix of perlite, coco & soil. Should I go just coco and perlite next time?
