Hi guys so had to update tonight as busy tomorrow. They are looking good. I’ve been cutting a few leaves of to give a bit more light to the buds. Not much to say they are being well behaved. My only issue now is when to cut, I’m in no rush won’t them to be as big as I can get them. But I can only dry in my tent so all will have to be cut at same time, think one is way in front of the other two. Any tips about when to cut them down would be gratefully received. Thanks for looking Have an epic week people 🤙🤙

Thanks for all the help this site has already given me, I’m now up and growing. I will be useing Sensi Coco Grow A and B, When do I start feeding and how much. I have a copy of there feed chart but unsure how big my plants need to be. Growing Ecothrive - Coco Lite with Charge 🤙

Hi !

Don't worry to much about run off at this stage . Just water around the seedling lightly , you want the Coco around the edge to stay a bit dry so the tap root seeks out air and grows quicker. It's easy to overwater at this stage. They don't require much at all, just a light feeding and patience is required. Good luck 🌱

Bulbi had a good answer. I mostly agree with him. Within a strain there is variation. Some breeders actually list this on their site as phenotypic variation. Flowering time on this strain from what I have seen is from between 8 weeks from germination to about 15 weeks.(This is based on grow journals, so is moderately reliable IMO) Personally I think I have some very fast ones. Pretty sure my #2 won't go past week 9. Looks like a couple more might fatten #1 up, so she might be 11 weeks. IDK. I generally don't harvest in stages even when they ripen unevenly. I probably lose grams of larf and even some potency, But space is precious for me so I want em out of the way. When the tops show me the amber I want, I harvest all at once. I can't remember ever saying, "Damn if I had only let this larf go a couple more weeks... oh well maybe next time." I say it's better to make room for another. Looking awesome buddy!!! Dense, covered in trichs... The hardest part now is patience. You got it.

They are certainly ripe enough for harvest now and will have peak THC, providing a great trippy head high, but this peak of THC will be declining from now onwards, due to the plant being past its prime health and with a slowing metabolism. Leaving the plants much longer will see the THC breaking down into CBD and CBN, giving you a more sleepy/heavy body stone. So it comes down to which effect you prefer, a mind bending high or a sleepy body stone. If you prefer the body stone effect, wait until all the pistils have turned brown. Congratulations on your first harvest and I admire your choice of breeder, Sweet Seeds are my favourites! Hope this helps,.......... Organoman.

Hey man, looking so so good, a picture of health! I would keep feeding this week if I were you, and possibly next week. You'll start to notice some of the pistils turning orange/brown and curling into the bud - this is normal and a sign of the beginning of maturation. You can see it beginning to happen on your toppiest top buds. I'd say you still have 2 - 3 weeks to go, maybe even 4 if you want max yield, so be patient. This is the hardest part! From our little chat last week I did a bit more reading on flushing and found an interesting study (conducted by a nute company so take with a grain of salt) that indicated no statistically relevant difference between flushing and not. Link: https://www.rxgreentechnologies.com/rxgt_trials/flushing-trial/ What I take away from this is the following: if removing nutes for 2 weeks before harvest doesn't affect the final product, I see no reason NOT to flush. It is just more economical, saves on some nutes and time. It also MAY have some positive effects on curing time, but this wasn't mentioned in the study, as the removal of nutes in the last two weeks encourages plant to use up energy stored in leaves, including chlorophyll, which is what we are trying to remove from the plant when we cure. Getting a two week headstart means you'll have awesome cured nugs a little bit sooner. Based on this evidence, I am converted. I will be flushing my grows from now on and would recommend others do the same. I can't really do it with my current set up using biotabs but if I was using liquid feed I would 100%. Really impressive grow for a first run. Quality genetics + a little knowledge is a powerful thing. Can't wait to see how the rest of your run goes. Godspeed! P.S., I feel like a total growing nerd but I am so envious of the health of your leaves. I hope to dial my environment in a bit more for next run and have a plant looking this healthy at this stage of growth.. mine get put through their paces that's for sure!

@GreenHillZone, with organics you do not need to flush, there is no salt in the medium or plants, it is microorganisms that feeds your plants with pure natural nutrients very unlike ferts. MJ grown in the tropics or warm climate do not die because of lack of food but because their internal clock told them it is time to, their metabolism slows down and they stop eating and demanding food. You can speed up your plant internal clock by stressing her, like ice cubes on top of medium or stabbing main stem... On the other hand if you use synthetic ferts you need to stop feeding few days prior harvest.

@Dirty_Hippy, my pleasure. The chlorophyll hypothesis is definitely a bit of conjecture/bro-science on my end and I wish they had considered that for this study. It makes sense to me though.

@GreenHillZone, That's the first time I heard the point made about chlorophyl and cure time. Excellent!!!! Finally there is a logical reason to flush lol. I have always done it anyway, just because it seems to be the most popular method. But, I had been questioning it recently due to some studies like the ones you mention above. As soon as I read the word chlorophyl in a sentence relating to flushing the light bulb went on. Thanks for putting that information out there.

@Goodvibs, damn look at them fattening up!!! I just wanna eat em. Couple more weeks buddy!!! You are pretty much done with the growing. Just waiting for them to reach maturation. I assume you will be gauging maturity by trich color. Start watching now with a loupe or usb microscope <-- my favorite. By watching now you can see them go from clear to cloudy to amber. Watch the crystals on the leaves to get a feel for what you're looking for. These will turn much faster than the trichs on the calyxes. For determining maturity, use the trichomes on the calyxes as the guide NOT the ones on the leaves. I am really excited for you. Patience is your only friend from now until you smoke. I'll throw some drying/curing tips at ya when you get closer, but I think you have probably already done your research. Awesome Job man this weeks post looks fucking amazing!!!!!

@Dirty_Hippy,hay man. The aroma is nice I’m finding it quite citrusy, not as strong as I thought it might be by now, I hopeing for 3 more weeks minimum, get them big and fat, but so don’t want to over cook the grow time or go to short and not weigh in so well. Very different plants, I think that very early and quite hard LST had an impact on how mine look in comparison. Ordered some hydration packs for the cure think they are worth the money 🤙🤙🤙🤙

Looks great buddy! You're really on your way now. Bet it's starting to smell delicious in your tent! I'm surprised you are able to bump up the bloom nutes so significantly, I'd proceed with caution and keep a close eye over the next week for signs of burn. Not saying you are wrong at all, just from my (extremely limited) experience this is a light feeder as I mentioned. Now, its entirely possible that my environment/schedule was out of whack on my first grow (very likely in fact) which could have contributed to a lack of nutrient uptake, and therefore signs of burn, so dont take my words as gospel. There are so many variables to take into account so heavy feeding might not have been my issue with this plant. You obviously have your setup pretty dialled in based on the excellent growth you've been posting so carry on as you are. You cant go too wrong from this stage anyway. Just keep on the lookout for stress/mold and you'll be smoking some lovely homegrown bud before long. Well done so far!!!

@GreenHillZone, want a good yield so will take it as far as I can before I panic and chop it. Been doing a lot or reading about harvest and curing as always I’m finding slow and steady, which is some times easier said than done Thanks again man 🤙🤙🤙

@Goodvibs, Nice! There's no "right way" to do things I guess - as long as your plants looks happy and healthy I wouldn't change a thing, you seem to have a good understanding of the technical side of things, that plus a little experimentation is a powerful combo. Every strain will be different at the end of the day, and your grow looks great so well done! In terms of harvest, it's a total guesstimate but 3-4 weeks looks about right, based on how developed your plant is and from looking at all the other diaries/finishing times and how your grow is progressing comparatively. Based on how clued up you seem to be I assume you are familiar with the concept of checking trichomes for colour differences, clear white and amber. If not you could start looking into this stuff over the next couple of weeks. As far as I can tell there's a lot of preference involved but without having a bunch of grows under your belt I'd suggest following the common advice of harvesting at ~10-15% amber trichomes. You could experiment with earlier/later chopping on future grows, but the general consensus from my research is 10-15%. From a new grower to another: it will be extremely tempting to chop it down as soon as it looks "done". The urge to chop once most of the trichs are cloudy will be strong. However, they really pile on weight in the final stages. My first run I chopped at 77 days, after thinking about chopping first at 65, then 70. I am really glad I waited, the buds must have increased by 50% or more in the last 2 weeks. Edit: in terms of flushing I have no idea, there's a lot of conflicting opinions on the topic and I didn't bother my first time and probably won't this time. It's definitely a controversial topic and I don't know enough to go one way or the other, and definitely not confident enough to give you a recommendation. Maybe someone else can chime in with a more experienced perspective.

@GreenHillZone, thanks man. It been an awesome new experience, and loads of fun so far. I have seen a lot of people saying they are light feeders but so far I’ve had the ph perfect grow up in the max for several weeks and then after two days of introducing the bloom went all the way up to full again, I’m not uesing anything else and if the ph or ppm are a little high I just run another 1/2 Liter through them and bring it down and that seems to have done the trick. I know it would only be a guesstimate but how many weeks you think before flush and harvest. Thanks 🤙🤙🤙

You're well on your way to a great harvest. Looking super healthy! I've only run this strain twice in total but I wouldn't be surprised if you have another week of stretching. Dont be shocked if your tent is a jungle this time next week... but I dont think you would mind that haha! Beautiful grow, especially for your first time. Think you've got green fingers Goodvibs

@Goodvibs, My experience with this strain is that it's a pretty light feeder, so if you do switch soon I think starting off on a nice low dose would be the way to go. 1/4 recommended dose probably a good starting point Good luck!

@Dirty_Hippy, thanks man. It’s been awesome my partner said I was spending to much time with them but it’s been worth it. Dident finish them the way I was hoping as as was called away for work would have liked a few more days and the ability to fluch properly and keep them in the dark for 24 hours. But can’t have it all and I hope it haven’t affected the smoke to much. Had a littel vape to try it out and tasted sweet. Hopeing the dry will go as well. Very happy with the first grow and am looking forward to starting something new when the tent has finished drying the bud any thoughts on seeds ? Thinking of trying a bubble bucket Or self watering system as it was a pain to have to water every night kind of ties you down and the worrys of not watering where too much. Hope yours are coming along well you must be nearly there.

Really great development this past week. Slightly yellowed tips is nothing to worry about, you did the right thing backing off the feed but it's not the end of the world to end with some gnarly tips. I reckon there's *at least* 3 weeks left on this plant, so plenty of time to get bulkier. I think you'll be in for a bumper harvest, and deservedly so. This grow has been great to follow.
