Did the rockwool cube with the heating pad. Added SLF100 to the cube saturation ph to 6.0. Popped 2 days later. Roots poking out by the 4th day. Placed rockwool in basket today (day 5) a little prematurely because I was having problems with the rockwool drying out rapidly even with a dome and humidity cranked to 80%. Lights set at a 12" distance. 96 watts worth of T5 and the SF1000 turned all the way down to 20%. 24 hour light schedule.
Is my rockwool too propped up? If so, is there anything I can do after 2-3 days. A little deceiving top side. There was quite a bit of roots hanging out.
Nothing too exciting to report here. PH to 5.9, PPM 450. Got the rockwool covered up a little more. Been watering 10ml out of the bucket every 2-3 days. T5 6500k over the top at 12" and sf-1000 at 20% on the side at 12". Will swap them in 2 weeks or earlier if she stretches.
Still chugging along here. Got some really great root growth already. Not a lot happening top side but looking healthy. Kept lights and nutes the same. Day time temp little lower is the -10f outdoor temps.
Nothing too exciting still. Growing a little smaller than I'd expect but the roots seem great. Swapped the lights. Cranked the sf1000 to 100% and put it up to 25". Hung the t5 on the side. Will probs pull it out when it goes to flower.
Really struggling with this gal now. PH fluctuation is so rapid. 5.6 to 7.0 in the first 24 hours of a change. Switched to the GH trio from FF and added in the Cal Mag
Still really struggling with this dwc but she's looking better. Little concerned about it being stunted but hopefully it makes some buds still. One thing I did change was doing nutes the night before PH'd to 5.6. PH it again changing it he next day and PHing a 3rd time the day after the change. Seems to hold PPMs around 675ish and PH sticks at 5.8-6.0 for several days.
Well she started to flower and still looking decent. Clearly 2 weeks behind schedule due to all the previous issues. Avoided LST until she healed up and started today. Cable Clips are awesome!
Cover that hydroton my friend you will find the light will cause algea to grow if it exposed to the light for prolonged periods of time you can do this really easiy by just cutting around a bowl with some sort of waterpoof fabric then cut a small hole in the middle with a slit cut out if you look at some of my grows you maybe able to spot what im talking about :)
@HashCakes, Yeah I seen that not the best idea as the light can turn rock wool green for some reason i think its the water and algea I try to plant them way down in the basket when they are seedlings and just use a foliar spray until the roots hit the water :) yeah you should be okay just keep eye on them temps cause thats where most problems will come the water temptures :) best of luck pal great looking plants never the less im sure youll have a great cycle :)
@TheUk420Show, thanks for the info. I want to cover the hydrotron but I packed up high to cover the rockwool. So I've been waiting till there's a little more room to work without disturbing the plant. She started out just rocketing compared to my organic grows. Then on week 2 she just kinda took a break. Past 72 hours she's catching up though. I change the water every week. Pretty mild with nutes at this point.
@iLoveGoodWeed, if you look at Grow Doctor Guides on Resdit https://www.reddit.com/u/GrowDoctorGuides He explains it better but generally a super sterile environment keeps the roots fresh at high temps. I use a trio of UCRoot, 3%, and SLF100 and sterilize bucket, hoses and rocks with 99% isopropyl once a week on water changes.
