Germination

8 hours soak then direct sow into 3 gal fabric pots of ffof. Planning no nutes for at least 3 -4 weeks. Maybe some watery big bloom and microbe brew. Second try on Autos. First was a gold leaf which were miserable plants. I didn't understand the distinction that with autos every day is precious!!! Got these seeds as freebies that came with a giveaway package. Double free speed seed😄 7 weeks? Doubt it!! But we shall see. Happy Harvests to all! Any and all comments or questions welcome. Done this a few times, but I love sharing ideas and gaining new insight. Don't be shy !

Looks like we made it through germination. Now to get some size on these ladies. Moved to 24 inches from light on Day 8. Day 10: They love it. No nutes again this week as they are perfectly happy and growing in the ffof.

They are looking strong and healthy with decent branching before LST. I expect them to be some nice little bushes. I am thoroughly impressed at the rate of growth and maturing on these. I really hope they don't finish in 7 weeks. They are already clearly into their stretch and beginning to make bud sites on day 26.

Small plants loaded with bud sites. The flower:leaf ratio on them is wonderful. Resin beginning to develop. Smell is sweet fruity anise or licorice atm. . I hope she will hold out for at least a few more weeks and bulk up. All the data I have suggests they will. Increased nutes a touch. I saw improvement from last week but they still wanted a bit. Otherwise they are happy and healthy and we comin down the home stretch.

Everything seems well. I keep upping my nutes as my indicator leaf keeps wavering back to yellow. These ladies, in 3 gallon pots, are not light feeders. After a little over a month with no added nutrients in ocean forest soil, they were fine. Once I saw the first signs of nutrient deficiency though, they were pretty damn hungry. I been chasing that yellow off for weeks. They are very different flower structures. One is long sativa spears, and the other is more indica chunky style. Day 54: Leaving for 5 days. They will only get one watering before I see them again. Watered hard and actually flushed #2 last night because I think I saw some issues. Gave both thier dose of nutrients tonight. Otherwise I think they should be done or very close when I return. Stay frosty ladies. Day 52: The yellowing and browning on the #2 is slow but unrelenting. I will do a slurry ph test tonight. So far the smell comming off of these guys is like blackberry and licorice. The trichs filling in are covering the calyxes completely. The indica shaped one is building bulk already while the sativa looking one is still shaping its buds. I think the small bushy one is beginning to mature. It may be only 2 or 3 weeks away. The other seems like it might go a little longer. That's it for now Happy Harvests!!!

Getting very close now. They will come down any day. #2 will surely be down this week. There is heavy amber among the sugar leaf and it is just beginning on the calyxes. #1 seems like it will keep blowing up for another week before its final swell. I expected it to get a little bigger, but it seems like I got one of the very fast phenos. #1 might be more what I was expecting. I am completely satisfied with the quality of this seed so far.

This stuff is perfect for a beginner. Very little maintenance. 9 and 10 weeks start to finish averaging an oz of good bud per plant. Hard to beat that. The taste is still settling in but pleasant as hell for now. #2 is Kinda sweet and flowery with that licorice aftertaste. #1 is still very early on flavor, but it's primarily humelene hoppy notes with some sweetness. The punch of this stuff is serious. I have a VERY high tolerance and I was pleasantly surprised when I didn't even want to finish my breakfast nug. Awesome genetics. It was an awesome learner for me with autoflowers. I would highly suggest this to first time growers.

This stuff was fun. My second ever autoflower and MUCH better than the first. I am amazed at the speed of the speed har har. At jarring i am at 27 grams of manicured bud. I hoped for an ounce off of her and she came through. Smell has returned and uncured, is very berry and baked good spices. like anise or licorice. 2 week cure update: Smoked a bowl this morning and after 2 hits, did not need more. My tolerance is VERY high. I am shocked at the potency. The Smell is very licorice or berry anise. Very smooth smoke. Flavor is similar to smells still with an earthy and piney aftertaste. Effects are pretty fast and continue to develop for about 45 minutes at which point the high is very relaxed and slightly psychadelic. Long lasting effects begin to wear off in about 2 - 3 hours. A++

All Done!! 45 grams of very nice bud. #2 has the bag appeal tight nugs. #1 was stringy but more resinous. There is a definite piney odor to the fresh smoke though it doesn't come through in the flavor until after a good 2 week cure. I suspect a 1 month cure will be proper on this crop. Loved it. I highly suggest this to anyone new to growing or new to autos.

It feels like I ran into a PH problem at the end here. I'm glad it was such a fast plant. I have fixed my water situation again. The learning never stops :))

@Dirty_Hippy, funny I done the same with brown/yellow tips. Only a few on each plant think it was a combo of light and feed but gone in 48 hours so kept feeding I have been uesing ph perfect feed and have had no problem with over feeding and was at max with grow and now in day three in bloom at at there max of 4ml per liter and they are very happy. Looking forward to seeing your up date at end of week. Have a good one 🤙

Dirty_Hippycommented4 years ago
@Goodvibs, Those tips I was talking about did brown a touch. I guess I was a little early even with my extremely mild dose. I attribute this to the soil I am using. Personally though, I like a couple barely browned tips. Tells me I am at full nutrient capacity lol... but it is a really good indicator that they are not hungry yet. Hope yours are thriving this week, can't wait to see em

@Dirty_Hippy, it’s cool to watch the 2 grows as there so close together. Being my first grow I’m probably going to go wrong a few times , so will be cool to see the difference in how you look after yours. Like the soil your uesing I didn’t think to hard on soil, went for coco. Have a good week mate 🤙

@Dirty_Hippy, thank for the info. Big thing for me is smell so has to be done in the tent I’m running a dehumidifier at the mo and I imagine I will when drying too. How many weeks do you think I’ve got left ? Ours have been such different grows, grate to watch.
Dirty_Hippy
Dirty_Hippycommented4 years ago
@Goodvibs, I don't know your RH environment enough to suggest anything. If it's very humid and you run a dehumidifier, try starting to dry the first cut near the exhaust of the tent, but not in direct flow of the air. Also cut smaller chunks of branches. when the other finishes all can go in the tent. If it is very arid where you are, best bet is to get a humidifier. In this case you would want to start by haning the whole plant as one. You can have a drastic effect on drying time by how many fan leaves you remove, how much stem you leave and how itact the entire plant is. If it's a smell isue, might need to work on another plan. Hope that helps.

Goodvibscommented4 years ago
@Dirty_Hippy, true that, the more I look it seems to pretty much depend on when people swop to bloom nutrients if you do that at the very first sight of pistols the grow gets done quicker. I’m a little worried that one of mine looks more mature the problem for me is the only place I can’t dry it is in the tent so have to chop everything at the same time. I’m hoping for another week or two, as they are starting to put som Weight on now but don’t won’t to over cook them as would like as strong as possible smoke 🤙

Looks awesome, I think you're gonna get an excellent harvest from this grow. I'd say there's a good bit to go yet, probably 3 weeks minimum if I had to guess.. plenty of time to get their chunk on! I'll be keeping an eye on how this one turns out, good luck with the next few weeks pal.
