Feb 1 @5pm: Pot amended with approximately 60% new coco coir, plus second time used coco coir, and Wiggle Worm Castings. Approximately 65% Coco Coir, 15% Perlite and 15% Wiggle Worm Castings. I added 13 tablespoons of Gaia Green All Purpose 4-4-4 and a top sprinkle splash of "Multi Collagen Protein Powder - 5 Types of Food Sourced Collagen Peptides - Hydrolysed Grass Fed Bovine, Wild Caught Marine & Free-Range Chicken, GF, Non GMO."
Feb 1 @8:30pm: Seed dropped in water and placed in dark
Feb 4: Removed her from water cup and put her in a damp paper towel
Feb 5 @4pm: Dropped into coco medium
Feb 8 @11am / Day 1: Seed breaks through coco medium
6.5 days from seed to sprout
Feb 10 / End of Day 2: 2" tall
She burned in dehydration and is rebounding well.
March 15/Day 35: Heavily defoliated, LST and amended topsoil with 10 tablespoons of Gaia Green All Purpose 4-4-4 and 10 tablespoons of Gaia Green Power Bloom 2-8-4. 50/50
April 2: I switched her from 24 to 12/12 lighting. She is scraggly. I did not focus on LST and defoliation, throughout. I usually do with my grows. Her stalks are not as thick as they could have been. :) All good!
Day 70/April 19: Top amended soils with Gaia Green Nutrients. Did heavy defoliation and trimming of weak branches, with more to go. Paying a bit more attention to her these days. :D
April 23: Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Heat and or light being too bright at her canopy may be the cause. Her canopy must have been fairly warm in some areas, with a fan running on her, prior to me moving the light up an extra 10" to 17".. today. I'm guessing 29-31C for 12 hrs a day, 7" from light to canopy. Though, she has not been at this height and light was not close to the canopy for long. hmm Maybe it did or didn't contribute to her turning into a hermie plant. I neglected her, as briefly documented in past weeks. Her balls have pistils coming out of them. See pictures. I removed most of the balls and left a couple here and there that I will get to daily, over the next while . I believe it's early and these squishy sacs would end up holding seeds. I notice one on either side of her nodes, for now. Does not look like every branch is affected. Maybe this has to do with maturity of each branch. I had not been paying much attention to her underneath until today. What to do? :)
April 25: She is ending week 4 in flower, including preflower stages. I'm going to give her a few days at a time and see. I went researching again and found out about swollen calyxes. I laughed, imagining that I cut off swollen calyxes instead. I don't think so. :)
April 25: Defoliated a lot. Got rid of twigs and slower growing branches. Will take pictures soon.
April 29/Day 80 from seed: Still trying to figure out if she turned hermie. Not sure if I started pulling swollen calyxes or seed pods, starting last week. It is hard to get them all off in one sitting. She has a lot of nodes. Each node pretty much has one one each side, except for the less mature stalks. This week, I cut a lot of the weak stalks off. I'm not finding any bananas. The more developed calyxes, whatever they are, have pistils coming out of them and feel a bit harder. They're somewhat stiffly attached to the node areas and are easy to remove. At this point, all of them that I have squeezed are squishy and I have not seen any signs of seed development inside.
When do seeds become obvious seeds in pods? She is 27 days on 12/12 lighting. When I started to see preflower I switched her to 12/12. Female flower production is coming along nicely. Any advice would help. I have not noticed this on any of my grows, most of which I have journaled here. This is my second photoperiod grow in flowering, both feminized seeds. Every other plant I've grown was autoflower.
So... during week 11 and 12, I'm pretty sure I pulled off hundreds of calyxes and not seed sacs. I stunted her growth by removing what I thought were hundreds of developing seed sacs, afraid of pollination. lol I've not ever seen such large calyxes. Though, I'm also used to growing autoflowers.
She has gone through a lot of stress and done very well. Heat stress which caused dehydration earlier on in her flowering and this week I should have had my a/c unit installed. Calyxes that were removed would have gave me a MUCH bigger yield. Her calyxes turned out not to be seed sacs and she did not hermie. I pulled a lot of her calyxes off thinking they were seed sacs. lol Lesson learned. Boy, does she ever have beautiful trichomes and she smells STRONG!
You learn. If I had not of plucked off 100's of her fat fat calyxes, in which I thought were seed sacs forming, she would have a lot less spaces between her colas and have fatter fat buds. :) I chase THC effects and am going to harvest her today, Day 108.
I usually craft trim my cannabis. This time I went above and beyond my usual of removing stems and sugar leaf trimming. Her dry weight is dryer than I would have liked to jar. Maybe a day to long drying out. Not bad at all! :) I have been enjoying her quality buzz of energy, happiness, creativity, euphoria and laughter. She keeps on giving to immunity. :) If you're trying to sedate or sleep... you don't want Jack. :)
$hit happens, right? If it's worth anything, I still think she looks good and I hope the harvest is quality. I'll be happy to throw this on the follow list.
Nice buds, she cant even handle the size of some of them xP I would advise supporting them abit next time, just if even for the looks of it ^^ Happy smokes!
