plant number 2 had different genetics it seems. plant 1 is performing normal as it should be and plant 2 was always lighter green colour! and now he's got 5 stems who are shooting up and the other plant is growning normal in the same conditions. i tried to supercrop the 5 stems and broke them in 90 degrees but well it's a very resilient plant . all the stems recovered they are standing up again .

i have 2 C Banana in the same conditions and 1 of them is growing like crazy and stretching while the other is growing normal. is it just the genetics? the second plant also looked ligther green from the beginning and did not flower the same time as the other.

Hi @Bluesbreeder! If you're sure that the light coverage is the same for the 2 plants, and if the conditions are exactly the same (same soil, same trainings, same feedings..) then yes it's phenotype-related. You have 2 different phenos from the same strain. Good luck with the tall one!

i did a little more of sensi coco A and B in the feeding. took it from 3ml/L to 3,5ml/L but after a day i saw little tip burn . i will be taking A/B back to 3 ml/L i think this is the sweet spot for these plants. plant number 2 seems to be streched so i don't think she will produce nice compact buds and she's running behind on developing buds. if i compare her to plant 1 there's a lot of difference let's wait and see if she will explode later when i put her on overdrive.

hey, i have lowered some nutrient because had some tip burns. so lowered a few things . all is going well and today i took out all the plants to give them a good trim to have a good light penetration to the lower bud sites . the plant number 1 is a lot taller then number 2 but i put nr 2 a little higher so they both are aprox. the same distance from the lamp i broke the biggest stem when i put them back in the tent because it's getting to high . looking forward to the next couple of weeks

well it about time to flush the girls. from plant 2 last week i supercropped the big buds that was sticking out to high for me. had problem with my light getting to close and i could not get my lamp higher no more space. so it might look like a war zone bit all the buds are in good condition. next week will be harvest day.

this is a great strain and one of my favourite's because of it's happy feeling and it's great for daytime smoke. this will be growing again very soon . the grow was a grow without any real problem. only this plant can stretch so watch out i had to supercrop the highest buds because the were getting to close to my lamp. but the buds are real dense and i'm loving it : 1:.00

Nice green photos this week. You seem to have your hands full in your tent! That is a lot of bud! I wouldn't worry about the stretchy pheno. She could have a bit more sativa to her. Once she is done with all the stretching then she will start to fill out. I would guess that she will not be ready to harvest at the same time. Otherwise everything is looking great! Beautiful color to your girls. The buds are forming nicely. You might want to give your girls a haircut or five. That way some of the lower buds can develop.

Bluesbreedercommented7 years ago
@Quexos,well for me it's no problem because i like more the high feeling then the stoned. so i will have 1 C.banana good matured and the other more virgin weed . all good for me :-)
Quexos
Quexoscommented7 years ago
@Bluesbreeder, I understand. I guess you could move the carbon filter, but if your set up is anything like mine, it would take hours to undo all of the parts. It just isn't worth it. Maybe for a future grow you could build a drying box that has some sort of filtration. The biggest difference will be the type of high. The one that isn't quite finished might have smaller, less dense buds, but I'd guess not. Trichomes would definitely not be as mature so that will effect the type of high, but probably not potency unless the plant is really far away from finishing. It really depends on how far away the less mature plant is from harvesting.

@Quexos,over here growing is not legal so i need to watch out my neighbors don't smell something :-) when drying

Gratz Bud! Those are some fine looking mason jars. You had a great yield for only 2 plants. I like how this strain turned out. The buds are pretty good size, and the pictures show some real dense structure. Great job!👏 I wonder if that breeder has any other strains that might be worth trying out.
Bluesbreeder
Bluesbreedercommented7 years ago
@Quexos,well yes that's why i'm running the same diary again with 2 gorilla's and 2 C.banana so we can check if it makes a lot of difference.

@Bluesbreeder, How about a side by side test grow?
Bluesbreeder
Bluesbreedercommented7 years ago
@Quexos,also known as backbuilding or bud pinching. i used this on my Ultimate grow and on Cinderella Jack . for this grow i did not use it but i'm going to use it again. had good results with them but it's hard to prove it really works.

Those girls look ready for harvest! I wonder why the final stage is taking so long? Your trichomes may never go all milky/amber. I was reading that some strains won't do that. I believe the leaves changing colors is your buds taking nutrients from the plant itself. Its nothing to worry about, and its an indication your plant is about ready. Have you looked up this strain on the breeder's website? Do a Google search for this strain and see if you can find other grows, or more information. Hopefully that will give you some answers. Overall, she sure looks about ready.
Bluesbreeder
Bluesbreedercommented7 years ago
@Quexos,well i’m guessing this will be more. The buds are very dense! When i got her out of the tent 1 of the plants collapsed under the weight from the buds. Last evening i got leaves from the inside of the bud and under the microspope they whete all milkey so i decided to harvest her. I think next weekend i will post the harvest week with the dry weight. Looking forward to tasting it :-)
Quexos
Quexoscommented7 years ago
@Bluesbreeder, I did a little reading about your strain after I posted my reply to you. From what I read, your plants should've been finished. A lot of the pictures looked similar to yours. Your strain sure did have a tangled lineage. On my last two grows I got about 17% of my wet weight.
Bluesbreeder
Bluesbreedercommented7 years ago
@Quexos,i took a closer look today little deeper in the bud and they were all milkey so i harvested her. i removed my week 18 from my diary so i can post the harvest week. in a few days i will post the results with wet and dry weight. wet weight was 828 so i'm guessing around 200 dry!

So you are figuring a 12 week flowering cycle in all? They will really fatten up in the next 3 weeks. I noticed a huge bulking up during my flushing period. Supposedly they will gain some weight when you leave them in the dark at the end of your grow. On another note: OMG those bud stalks look amazing!😵😵😵
Quexos
Quexoscommented7 years ago
@Bluesbreeder, On my last grow I did a last flush then did a 3-day dark cycle. Then I did a wet trim, and initial weighing. Next I hung the bud stalks to dry on a hanging rack in my grow tent with 2 computer exhaust fans and a humidifier. They were dryish after 4 days. Then I did a dry trim and put them in jars. I just did the final flush to my current grow. It is in timeout Carrie style.
Bluesbreeder
Bluesbreedercommented7 years ago
@Quexos,what i read about it is that the plant would make more trichomes in the dark period because it thinks it will die . i'm not really sure if it works and read about 48/72 hours in complete darkness. what do you do? and do you see a difference?
Quexos
Quexoscommented7 years ago
@Bluesbreeder, I did a dark period last grow, and I'm doing a dark period as we speak on my second grow. I also have read of a lot of other growers using the dark period method. I'm not sure exactly why you give the plants a dark period before cutting them down. I know mother nature never schedules her solar eclipses for harvest season. Lemmings will be lemmings!😉

You are going to have way too much herb when you harvest. I suggest you send me some! Those plants are looking fantastic! It looks like you added some new nutes to your list. If you are getting burned tips then you will need to flush and cure awhile longer than usual. It will take a bit of time to flush out those nutes from the soil and plant. Curing takes a little longer as well.
Quexos
Quexoscommented7 years ago
@Bluesbreeder, I used Flawless Finish on my last grow. I think I only used it once though before I harvested. I'm still not sure about adding nutes during the grow, especially during flowering. Finding the right frequency is difficult. Last grow I gave nutes probably 3-4x a week . This time I'm only feeding once a week.
Bluesbreeder
Bluesbreedercommented7 years ago
@Quexos,no i flush them at the end with flawless finish. but i ment that once i had some problem with a plant and about 3 weeks into flowering i flushed the plant because it looked like a deficiency and by flushing it the plant got a lot worse then before. i always flush the last week before i harvest.
Quexos
Quexoscommented7 years ago
@Bluesbreeder, True Dat! I'm not sure what you mean by worse. When you stop feeding nutes at the end of your grow, your plants will start taking nutes from the plant itself. They start to "fade", or look poorly, as the nutes are used up from the plant. It doesn't affect bud formation, or potency in a negative way.

You are getting towards the end! Do you have a separate drying area, or do you have to use your tent? I built a cheap one using a wardrobe box (48x24x24) from U-Haul, some string, and a cheap fan, used as exhaust. Its been keeping my drying bud at around 74 temp. and around 55% humidity.
Bluesbreeder

@Quexos,hahaha well with 1 house between us lives a cop .so i don't want to take a risk that he wakes up in the morning goes to his window, takes a deep breath and smells the scent of drying buds 😬
Quexos
Quexoscommented7 years ago
@Bluesbreeder, Yeah, I didn't have an answer for the smell either. My wife was less than pleased with me when she woke up in the morning and the bedrooms and hallway smelled like a dispensary.
Bluesbreeder

@Quexos,hey i dry my buds in the same tent. i don't have the space to do it anywhere else and also for the smell. so my tent is my only option.
Quexos

She is finishing up nicely. They look very healthy. My prediction is another 3 weeks. I think you'll see a lot of bulking at the very end. My current grow is about 1-2 weeks away and its starting to really fatten up.

@Quexos,well i think i need to put some stick in the pots for support ! it looks like some buds are getting to heavy for some branches . i always take the smallest plant out to give them water and have some room but its getting harder and harder not to move to much and make them brake. but i like big buds and i can not lie :-)

Bluesbreeder
Bluesbreedercommented7 years ago
@Quexos,well i broke it myself :-) it was getting to high so i supercropped it. maybe i was not clear in my message. i'm very curious how the buds will develope . the stretched stems are also filling up nice so let see in a few weeks what the harvest will be.
Stick
Stickcommentedweek 107 years ago
Hi @Bluesbreeder! If you're sure that the light coverage is the same for the 2 plants, and if the conditions are exactly the same (same soil, same trainings, same feedings..) then yes it's phenotype-related. You have 2 different phenos from the same strain. Good luck with the tall one! 👊
Bluesbreeder
Bluesbreedercommented7 years ago
@Stick,thanks but i don’t like it that much . It seems streched and then the buds won’t be compact ! But we will see the end result in a few weeks . If the smoke is good and the potency that’s the most important.
