Considering that this is purely experimental, I’m actually quite impressed with the results of the week. I started this grow randomly, literally out of a bag and without any clear desire. But now, I’m becoming attached. I still have an issue with overwatering but I’m gradually becoming cognizant of it. The rapid rooters are truly a godsend as all my other germination methods yielded mixed results. I will certainly be using them exclusively in the future. I’ve taken a hands off approach this week and it seems to be working out. I’m a little anal about the watering and I’m realizing now that it’s best to just stay away unless they show me signs of need. Today, I transplanted one of my plants from a vitamin water bottle into a a 3 gal fabric because the root system had grown quite large. This plant has shown some strange drooping of leaves that the others do no exhibit. The transplant went smoothly with no damage to any roots but I’m a little concerned about the dropping leaves although the plant looks otherwise vivacious. Time will tell. I added another layer of Mylar to the front of my makeshift “grow tent” this week and the plants seem to enjoy the extra light being reflected. I raised the light a bit and have been trying to get the temp and humidity up a bit during the day. I originally started this grow with various vegetables in an effort to test out the ts1000 and I’m very impressed. There are random cucumber plants scattered throughout that are as vivacious as in the sun. So I think this is a good sign that my light and watering is sufficient. My tomato plant is literally my best plant right now and seems to get enough light in the front right corner at about 18 inches. And it drinks like a fish! Considering my watering habits, I hope the others catch up to me. Eventually, all the other vegetable plants will be sacrificed to the gods and I will pick my best six bagseed plants to be transplanted into the 3 gallon fabric pots. After that, I will attempt to sex them and hope for the best!! In all honesty, I don’t want to have to choose. Every plant that sprouts has become endearing to me. Every day that I watch their little nodes begin to form, I feel a sense of achievement and appreciation for the symbiosis of the universe. Without me, they may never have existed at all.

@Polaskis, I sincerely appreciate that! This grow started as strictly experimental before I take the plunge with feminized seeds or cloning. I feel like I’m doing well, so far. Definitely have an issue with watering and wanting to fertilize even though I know it’s unnecessary. Thank you for the kind words.

First thing I noticed when I came across your thumbnail was the coloring of the little dude and I was like! SHIT! Over watered!?! (Im really bad at doing the same) So I clicked over and you made the same comment. I would have to agree, pull off for a day or so, let the plant droop from getting dry and slowly feed her back till shes healthy. One thing I heard that stuck for me was " Its not about how much water you give it, its how often you give it." Basically saying you can give it as much water as the pot will hold (within reason, eventually it will pour thru) one time for each day. The water will go into the plant, the soil will dry a bit. Oxygen moves in the air pockets, the plant gets to breath. Next day, she wakes up and just like most people shes thirsty/hungry. But if you water it in the morning a bunch and then come back later for another douse when does it get time to breath? And if your soil is holding water for more than a day or two you might need a better medium. Throw some perlite in there. Too much of anything is bad for anyone. I believe wilting or yellowing is a sign of the plant suffocating in some situations. But Im still learning here too, I just thought I would respond since I didnt see any others. I hope this helps, I hope my assumptions are correct. If not please, *anyone* set my dumbass straight. Im always down to learn. Anyways, best of luck to you and your little ones.

@Nottaclue816, Hey no worries! Its all for the love of the plant, sometimes we get a little carried away lol. Hell yea, 3 gallon fabs are where im sittin also. Thats crazy with the clear bottle, Im wanting to do the same at some point just to see it in action under a time lapse over a few days. I think itd be pretty dope to watch develop? And no problem, just figured Id throw my two cents down. Keep it green meh!

@SweetVibes420, Thanks for the input, man. I’ve always had an issue with over watering, no matter what I’m growing. I’m really just experimenting at the moment and have noticed that my best growth has come from plants in taller pots that are watered less frequently. I just transplanted my best plant into a 3 gallon fabric pot today literally from a vitamin water bottle. In the vitamin water bottle(which I rarely watered), I could actually see the root growth and it’s amazing that the roots actually thrived in the recesses where there was no soil or water. We’ve basically been taught that plants need water and sunlight, not mentioning that those roots need to breathe. Thanks for the insight! I really appreciate it and it helps the thought process, immensely.

@SOBIESLAW, Thanks, man! The plants are really starting to take off, now, after transplanting. I’m spending too much time trying to sex them when I know it’s impossible at such an early age. But they’re vivacious as hell. I keep thinking I’ll mess something up by being to anal. And I probably will lol. But for now, things are looking good. Thanks for the encouragement!
