First sowed on January 30th and sprouted February 3rd 2021. Only had one seed so failure was NOT an option. Nonetheless, success! So far pretty healthy growth, just finished up a gorilla girl xl auto on the Fishtank so the tank is still cycling nicely. Over the summer I bombarded myself with diaries of all my grows and got overwhelmed so hopefully this round on here goes better. I feed my fish an all natural meal worm based flake food, blood worms, brine shrimp, and black fly larvae. I have a piece of driftwood in the tank as well as raw peat moss added in my filter occasionally to help reduce pH and stabilize it. I test my nitrate levels weekly, sometimes more so when I list Fish in my nutrients I'll actually be listing "mg/L instead of ml/L to be more relevant.
Growth was quite slow with just my fish alone so I now give her 4 little shot glass's full twice a day and growth has increased substantially. I plan to reproduce seeds with this particular girl so I am going to need enough plant matter to reverse a big branch and pollinate the others!
Just started to see signs of flowering and pistils popping out everywhere. Therefore I began spraying three times daily with some colloidal silver spray I had bought as 240ppm and diluted with distilled water to approximately 40ppm. I've begun to notice some nitrogen deficiency in the lower leaves on the left hand side of the tank. It also resembles a magnesium deficiency so I switched my cal mag to a stronger version from Gen. Hydroponics that has always seemed to work better for me. I only mix a half gallon jug of the nutrients I have listed and feed her roughly three 1oz shot glasses (it's actually a cover to a baby bottle) three times a day when I spray with colloidal.
Well the nitrogen deficiency has gotten progressively worse, so I added just a touch of Monster Grow Pro 18-36-1. I really hope to see some positive progress very soon.
The tips of the new growth are continuing to stay a healthy olive green and the yellowing on the lowers is starting to build some chlorophyll along the veins too. Flowering definitely begun but growth with this one is slow. I hope she stretches even 50% because as of right now it doesn't seem to be moving much at all. I may also be quite impatient (: haha. I hope to get some seeds to share...
I'm beginning to get concerned that my colloidal wasn't strong enough or something. I increased spraying to at least 6 times a day and have added superthrive (1 drop per 1/2gal) as I've learned it helps lengthen the flowering period and to cause hermaphrodism during flowering. I've pretty much sprayed the entire plant with colloidal so I have to throw it away anyways so I'm willing to try whatever it takes to get some male flowers to pop here. I got some burmese ibl pollen on hand but that wasn't the point of this mini project. I'd like to have more of this original. Live and learn as they say. My camera on my phone broke so sorry for the low quality pictures....
