So welcome to Week 1- germination through until the end of Day 7. Same set up as always- 3x3 Gorilla Grow tent, 6" Hyper Exhaust Fan with speed controller, x2 Secret Jardin Monkey fans (one above the plants, one above the lights) and x2 Electric Sky 180’s for a total 360 watts. This is a passive air intake system supporting x4 five gallon fabric pots filled with a mixture of potting soil, Fox Farm Happy Frog potting soil and perlite. This is the 3rd and final grow using seeds from The Original Sensible Seeds Co. My last two grows on GD (Bruce Banner #3 and Zkittles Auto) have been genetics from this seed breeder and it’s been a bumpy ride. The Bruce Banner went to seed shortly after being moved outside and I had no idea why? Until the following grow- the Zkittles Auto! I found about a dozen male flowers in the lowest branches on 3 out of the four plants. I removed them, watched them like crazy and made it through to a successful harvest. I now believe that the same thing happened with the Bruce Banner but I missed the male flowers when I moved them outdoors :( So I’m now growing the 3rd and final batch of seeds from Original Sensible Seeds and we’ll all see what happens together! I planted 4 seeds in Jiffy peat pellets and germinated them in the tray provided with the Jiffy peat pellet starter kit. They were up/through the soil 4 days later and within hours transplanted into their final containers for this grow. At the end of Week 1- Day 7, they are doing great! I have only watered twice but I have a great schedule when using soil- I water every 4th day, working my way up from 1 litre to 3-4 litres per watering over a period of about 4-6 weeks. I have just kind of learned how to watch my plants and give them what they need- when they need it. Temperatures in the tent are nice and warm around 78-80 degrees but humidity is low. I struggle with this issue every winter but the only fix is a humidifier directly in the tent. The LED lights are about 3 feet above the pots and the seedlings don’t seem to be stretching. I also have a Monkey fan oscillating just above the top of the pots and constantly moving all 4 of these plants. I am hoping that this is an easy grow producing a big batch of high quality old school Skunk! Cheers until next week. 🙏
@Philindicus, hoping you are healthy and happy! I love Gaia Green but with a quick strain such as this one- I need almost instant results. General Hydroponics Flora Nova Grow and Bloom 1-part liquid nutes have been my ride or die for years now. They are relatively cheap, easy to find and extremely effective. I realize that they are not organic and probably not great for the environment but I have used them for years with my outdoor summer grows.
@DoDrugs420, not so much when they develop male/hermie parts and you end up with a harvest transitioning to seed :(
Perhaps this would have been a great strain had the genetics been better!
So I have a relatively similar grow. Using the same floranova grow/bloom, soil, watering at a PH of 6.0 and same size pot. I feel like I'm having some issues with the plants though. The PH runoff was 5.5/5.4 and Ive been watering religiously at 6.0. Did you experience any PH issues with soil and water at 6.0? After looking at the amount you used, I can tell mine are over fed too. Should I give them a week break on the feeds?
