Grisly I've been growing outdoors for a few years but decided to try an Indoor Grow for a new challenge. Immediately managing Space became my biggest learning curve. Also hoping the light is sufficient to produce decent flower.... also hoping the pots are big enough 😁
Photoperiod Bubblegum and Gemstone (Wolfe Genetics) from feminized seeds. Leighsweed is a photoperiod custom strain from standard seeds.
SPOILER ALERT: Front left is male, pollen harvested Week 9.
Seeds were germinated in the pots pictured (11L) with damp Promix substrate. No water required for for 1st 3 weeks.

Grisly Temperature is average and peaks at 28C and drops as low as 17C. Each strain has reacted differently to the fertilizer with Leighsweed needing the least and Gemstone demanding the most. Thinking of dropping fan to pot level to help drying.

Grisly Plants not real happy with topping and defoliation. Having never used any of these techniques outdoors it was tough to cause such damage on purpose. Hoping I got the right ratio of branches to pot size, lighting etc. 😁

Grisly Pulled 1 male from tent just before blossoming - whew! Suspected this one was male but was surprised to see it bloom before changing to flowering light cycle.

Grisly 1 Leighsweed was male. Plant removed from tent and saved for pollen. Thinking more defoliation is required given light strength.

Grisly Second week of flower and Leighsweed is out stretching the Gemstone and Bubblegum. Adjusting LST to hold back Leighsweed and defoliating all 3 daily 😁
Grisly Continuing to tie down Leighsweed, trying to hold it below 36" in height. Two branches are now 60" in length.
Changed the nutrient ratio to a 50/50 veg/flower mix as Gemstone and Bubblegum leaves are showing a need for a touch more nitrogen - hope it works 😊
Not sure if the number of branches is okay for the pot size and light strength but time will tell.
At the end of week 12 the plan is to pollinate a flower from each plant using Leighsweed pollen - Should be fun!!!
Grisly Feb 23/2021, Week 13, Day 85, Flower Day 23. Pollinated 1 Gemstone and 1 Bubblegum flower with Leighsweed pollen using a Q-tip.
Plants appear healthy although some leaves are showing deficiency. Considering increasing fertilizer strength. Continuing regular defoliation to keep flowers in the light. Here's hoping they keep on truckin 😁
Feb. 24/2021: Completed heavy defoliation of Gemstone. Will see how it produces vs Bubblegum.
Feb 26/2021: Gemstone flowers surpass Bubblegum in only 2 days. Changed strategy and completed Bubblegum defoliation as well. Sugars are starting to show and the smell has become heavy. I now know the filter works! 😁
Mar 1/2021, End of Week 13. Leighsweed showing serious potassium deficiency. Increased fertilizer but believe it may have locked out, bad news at this stage if that's the case 😩. But Gemstone and Bubblegum appear to be rockin right along. 😁
Grisly Mar 6/2021, Week 14, Day 96, Flower Day 34
- Disaster for Leighsweed! Check out the pics to see the damage! I had the light too close, and had swapped it at the start of flower to the 400 watt version. Looks like the penalty will be a heavy hit on yield although resin production looks good and smell is still heavy. Fortunately the hybrids were about 4" shorter and seem to have resisted.
- I replaced the 400w light with a 200w, added plain water and let them dry out. The Gemstone and Bubblegum flowers have stayed dense and the leaves appear to be colouring the right direction, so here's hopin' I caught it in time 😁
Grisly Mar 9/2021, Day 99, Flower Day 37
- Switching light back to 200 watts appears to have solved the burn issue
- Its too late for Leighsweed but it continues to grow ever longer horsetail flowers. Given the stress its been under I'm keeping an eye out for male flowers, might be better to just harvest it
Mar 13/2021, Day 103, Flower Day 41
- Switched to Advanced Nutrients; Gemstone flowers continue to fatten and the branches are starting to show the weight. Bubblegum growth has slowed but pistils on both plants remain predominantly white. Hoping they tolerate the Switch 😁
Grisly Mar. 17/21 - Gemstone buds starting to weigh down its' branches. Used soft tie to brace. All 3 plants finally getting real sticky and stinky 😁. Doubled Advanced Nutrients dose to 50% of recommended. Condition of plants continues to improve after switch in nutrients, nutrient amounts, and light intensity
Mar 21/21- Good to Bad in 4 days. Found a couple seeds in Leighsweed, to much stress after all so I decided to harvest it. Bubblegum went the way of Leighsweed seemingly overnight. No sign of seeds but the flowers have horse-tailed and burn/deficiency is evident. Gemstone is still looking good and getting fatter by the day, hoping I can keep it going 1 more week at least
As victim of lock-out this Leighsweed plant still yielded 68g of loose, sticky flower that stinks of pure skunk. It was harvested once seed was spotted. Ah well, next time 😁

Grisly Not much to say other than I need another grow to verify the strain's potential
Grisly Mar 25/21 - Well the grow finally made it to Week 8 of Flower, wasn't sure I'd make it this far. No lack of lessons learned re indoor growing 😁.
I started with 4 plants, pulled 1 male and lost the potential yield/quality of 2 more plants to nutrient lock out. But the Gemstone caught nicely and is still bulking up so I can't wait to try again and apply lessons learned to a new crop.
Looking forward to posting Harvest entries 😁. New indoor grow planned to start Apr 21 and outdoor grow Jun 21
Plant was another victim of lockout but produced 72g of loose flower, plenty of resin though. Will have to try again to give a proper review.

Grisly Plant was another victim of lockout but produced 72g of loose flower. Time to make Hash 😁 Silver lining though was that the Leighsweed pollination worked, can't wait to try it out 😁
Grisly Mar 30/2021 - Gemstone is the last plant standing and longest flowering plant I've ever grown. Typically outdoors I will get about 50 days before the cold, wet and mold move in for the kill. This Indoor growing is great 😁 Finally seeing more resin production and opaque trichomes.
Apr 1/2021 - Gemstone keeps on rolling. Still no amber trichomes
Apr 7/2021 - Gemstone is done, Harvest day was Apr 5 after 64 days of flower. Decent flower density, stems would be broken without support. Looks like this one might bring in >3oz but we'll see in a few days 😁 Can't wait to try this strain again 😁
Gemstone produced a decent yield of relatively dense flower. But best of all is the smell, taste, and potency. The smell is an intoxicating citrus over diesel, a real sweet and sour with an overall flowery cannabis smell reminiscent of an old style dispensary or Amsterdam Coffeeshop. Good 90min high with a 0.3g smoke. Cant wait to see what it produces on the next attempt.

Grisly I'm growing this one again to see what it produces now that I've got a better handle on the nutrients, light, and watering. Best of all was finding 2 seeds from what I believe is the Leighsweed pollination. I'm fairly confident given it was the tagged flower but I'm not 100% as both Leighsweed and the Bubblegum produced seed as a result of lock out stress. Regardless this was so much fun that Grow #2 is underway and Gemstone is back in the mix 😁
@indoorontario, Thanks for the interest, hope it works. I'm attempting to X a robust No Name with the 2 purchased hybrids. Fun not knowing what you'll get 😁
