I'm off the first tee on my first grow, trying to reach the green. Seeds went in yesterday. I've read so much in preparation this is already proving to be the most difficult part - waiting for the seeds to pop! It's like a baby due any day. Update: And we have liftoff. Checked all five seeds and casing has broken, tap root exposed. This is so exciting, I was worried lol.

All five have germinated. Peat pots placed into fabric pots with Foxfarm Happy Frog. Distilled Water. So far so good! Update at end of week 1: 5/5 looking healthy and happy. Added an oscillating fan to strengthen them up a bit, they're responding well. So far happy with ~ 100ml per day (thanks @Bulbi !) plus occasionally misting. Room temp seems to hover around 80-83, RH 43-50ish. It's just in the corner of a laundry room with the door closed, no tent.

Managed to keep the peat pellets hydrated and they've all germinated (5/5). They've all also successfully been transplanted into the Happy Frog; how much water now? Am I watering for the size/area of the seedling or am I watering for the volume of soil in that pot?

Hey there GIR, you’re right to ask ! At this stage , you only need 50-100mL of water really . You know the plant is small right now so it doesn’t need much . You can also place a dome on top of the plant to keep the humidity up. Fox farm soil can be a bit hot at this stage so be weary of that . In fact it’s another reason you don’t want to over water. Just do this for 10 days or so then start watering for the pot. Hope this helps! 🚀

Pleased with the progress. Added a small oscillating fan on Friday last week so only 50% of an oscillation cycle hits them. They seem to be appreciating the slight movement. Main stems thickening, a few nodes looking healthy.

These look pretty healthy to me at 10 days in 1L fabric pots. The big empty one front left in the 2nd pic is one of the 7L each will move into. How long am I okay in these 1L? I plan to do various training methods soon enough but when should I move these into their final home?

Basically when the plant leaves are reaching out past the pot by about 3 inches is a good time to transplant. Roots should be all through the planter by then. Cheers

Looking good to me. I'm curious why they seem low and bushy - not concerned, but so many other similar-aged plants look taller and thinner. I had lights at about 24" and just moved them up to 36" which seems to have facilitated some height. Stems look good too. Still only 100 ml per plant per day which they seem to like. End of week update: I topped OG1 and 2 and FIM'd the others on Tuesday. All have rebounded and remain happy

Just starting third week of veg and all plants have 3 or 4 nodes. I'm planning on topping and manifolding them. When should I move from 1L to 7L (final home)? Before or after I start training? I want to minimize any shock/recovery to the plant Thanks - you guys are awesome

I would let them vegetate longer, let them build more roots. But you can start topping them now. and you dont have to follow any schedule what first what theen... just follow thee plant.. she shows you what is next. It was good to rise the Lights, to make them reach for the light, this way it iis easier to train them----- just start topping them and let them grow again... if you feel like the growpot is filled with roots,,, transplant her... just give her alittle break inbetween every training.

Great progress at the end of Week 4. Topped the OGs last Wednesday and FIM'd KT1, KT2 and Blueberry. All recovering well, though I wasn't so sure at first. Transplanted into final homes (7 Gl) last Sunday, everybody came through like a champ. Thanks for looking and happy growing! Edit: Snuck in some LST on OG2. Not the prettiest but I think it will hold up. Also thought OG2 would suffer on the side there away from the light but somehow she's the tallest with the thickest stalk. Curious to see where it goes

Week five was great. Lots of new growth, took a stab at some LST on the OGs as they were really shooting up. All three strains are in the same environment with same soil and water. It's interesting to see how different they are. The two OGs seem to have happily taken the topping and are off and running with two nice new colas. The Blueberry FIM was weird - all the new growth came out twisty with round leaf tips. Everyone is green and healthy but they're taking their time. The two KT FIMS were pretty good; one looks like a 3 (maybe 4) -headed hydra and the other one seems more symmetrical. It's all just for fun until they go outside and it's totally out of my hands. Few more weeks. Thanks for reading Happy Growing

Week Six in the books with some drama. Noticed some burning on a few leaves on KT1 and after lots of research decided it was the lights. I moved the whole light rig over about a foot and raised the height and there's new growth all around that seems happy. Everybody else is humming along too. Blueberry growing well in the back but still putting out oddly-shaped nodes with twisty, rounded leaves. Totally healthy and thriving, just seems to be doing her own thing. One of the main colas after the FIM looks like it's splitting itself into 3, see pic. It's still too cool and rainy to harden them for outside but I'm hoping to get them out there soon within the next 2-3 weeks.

Interesting week. I was starting to get concerned that KT1 was anemic and Blueberry still growing strangely. Blue was a FIM but ever since recovery (4 weeks now) it's grown kind of spirally? I seem to have created some sort of mutant. Growing well and healthy, just looks strange. Hoping she explodes somehow. It finally dawned on me to use a little more of the space I have available and spread them out a bit. Also increased watering to go more by 'feel'; not so much the weight of the pot but getting more of a touch around how much they need and how often. Both of those seem to have helped this week - everybody has perked up, grown up and out and seem to appreciate a little more (literal) breathing room. Oscillating fan passes by them too. Not too worried about a canopy as these are all going outside in the next two weeks or so, Southern Ontario. Thanks for looking and happy growing!

Another good week. Saw maybe 5" of growth unofficially. Blueberry leading the pack for sure. They went outside today for their first rays of sunshine now that the Southern Ontario weather has decided to cooperate for a while. Hoping for a few multi-hour visits outside over the weekend and outside full time early next week. Thanks for looking!

What a roller coaster. Hardened the plants a few days over last weekend, they went out permanently last Sunday. It’s been unseasonably hot here all week and no rain. Started to see a lot of stress on 3 plants. Surprisingly- the two King Tuts which I had the highest hopes for are the weakest by far. Blueberry and OG2 are great. OG1 was a little stressed and she was gifted to my brother as I can only grow 4 anyway First rain expected today so I’ll cover them a bit until I can get cages around others or maybe stakes. Also added a little bit of FoxFarm Big Bloom to the two KTs to see if that helps at all. It’s interesting to try different things with different plants and seeing how they respond Loving the fabric pots - easy to move around for whatever reason and they drain really well. Thanks for looking and good luck!

Big temperature swing here in Southern Ontario this week. Last week it was 28-33 C during the day, today it's currently 4 C and raining. Added a second cage to OG to join Blue. KT1 and KT2 are bouncing back still, nice new abundant growth. Seems like some of the damaged leaves recovered but some have given up. Gave a heavy feed of FoxFarm Big Bloom which they all seem to appreciate. Thanks for looking

Happy Friday. Another good week, it cooled down to low 20s with a nice breeze and everyone was happy. This week's winner seems to be KT2 who exploded sideways and up. She got a FIM originally on April 7 which seems to be working really well. KT1 got the same but I F'd the FIM and it ended up being kind of nothing, not even a lousy top. I'm happy to leave it and see what happens, she's showing nice growth. OG and Blue still growing tall and showing lots of bud sites. Going to be a scorcher this week in the mid-30s for a few days so I expect big wind and heavy rain mid-next week so I'll have to keep them moving. Happy to have them (staying) in 7-gal. I can't grow monsters anyway and I can still move these easily enough. Thanks for looking and happy growing!

KT1 wins the week with the most growth. She's the one I messed up the FIM and it didn't really top or FIM so I have a little Christmas tree going. KT2 liked the FIM and is spreading out sideways, lots of good bud sites. I need to get a cage around the two KTs this week as they've caught up to the other two. Weather has been great, everyone seems happy. Thanks for looking and happy growing! 👊

Very happy to see buds everywhere. OG averaging about 4” of growth per week, currently shining at 62”. Blueberry still the heartiest of the group - thickest stalks, most dense clusters. Was thicc from the start. KT2 happy in the cage and producing lots of bud sites. KT1 is the mangly freestyle bush. Curious to see the difference between them.

Late update as I was away last week. Had some watering coverage but came home to some very sad, droopy plants after a hot humid weekend. After a good thirsty drink and some gentle caressing and whispering everybody looks very happy this morning. Quick little sip of Tiger Bloom and they're drinking the sunshine. I've given up measuring height, OG well over 6 feet at this point. Thanks for looking

Great flowers this week. Had to put a stake in with KT1 for support. Had some strong winds and OG was a little dry apparently so the base wasn’t too heavy and over she went. Luckily she’s late to flower and the cage helped a lot so there was no harm done at all. Blueberry still holds the blue ribbon for now, just thick dense colas, great aroma and an overall healthy looking pheno. And it was a freebie- thanks @CanukSeeds. Everyone enjoying this tasty Southern Ontario late summer Happy growing

More damage this week. I noticed WPM early in the week and seem to have gotten it under control right in time for torrential rain. OG is simply too tall for her 7 gal and went down, breaking an arm in the process. KTs are very close. Well, I've almost made it to the finish line. Finally brought down the two KTs. Was A LOT more work than I anticipated and the magic wore off quickly! After hours and hours of trimming and some easy drying at about 73 F and 63 RH. About 8 days for the KTs, then another trim and jarred them up. Scale was acting up a bit but my count is 10.4 ounces dry between 2 plants. Happy with the yield. Am currently a little concerned that it doesn't smell like much. Didn't over dry, didn't quickly dry. In jars the RH is showing 61 or 62. Really hoping some individual character comes back to them! Will return to update smoke report. OG and Blueberry still drying.

@CRiSPrGrow, Thanks friend. Maiden voyage for me. Starting inside until after the frost (Toronto) then they're going outside. Won't doming them and keeping the lights close enough cause a problem? The lights are not hot at all, but how tall should a dome be over the plant and away from the light? Thank you so much! 👊
