Week 9 has been uneventful. I gave one last compost tea and have been watering only in anticipation of the approaching harvest(s).
I will say that other than the sparseness in buds on dark devils, they still continue to look the best in my opinion. It’s getting close to max end of breeder harvest date, but those trichs are not amber and still a bunch of clear ones. The foliage and pistils are saying a different story...so I’m watching them trichs intently!
The Skywalker has the greatest smell I have had to date. The buds are a bit piddly, but they look beautiful and I just can’t get over that smell...wow wow wow, I freaking love it! That being said can anyone chime in on why the buds are so small? Is it because this is an organic run? Maybe I didn’t feed and supplement enough?
The lemon continues to ripen, but man are those some teeny buds, there is zero smell, and the trichs are on the very low end. I must be doing something wrong... again it’s my first orgo run...I think I have some major tweaking to do for sure.
Thanks all.
4/27 update:
The Skywalker was moved into darkness for 24 hr starting today. I have been checking trichs everyday, more so for the dark devils, but all got a once over, and there are ambers popping up on the Skywalker. Real bummer, I was hoping she’d fatten up but no dice. I can’t push her any longer, it’s time. Oddly, the dark devils still have no ambers...🤔
Will the trichs change to amber on this strain? I am a few days past the breeder harvest date, but there are no ambers and more clear ones than I’d expect at this point. I certainly have had plants go for longer or shorter than recommended, but based on trichs I am getting mixed messages. These girls are looking like they are on their last leg and borrowed time. Any advice or pointers for this strain? Thanks!!
It is always great to see an organic grow. The will to do one is more than enough reason. Regarding the small buds issue, happened to me aswell in my first endevours and it turned out to be excess nitrogen during flowering stage. The source most probably the compost tea. And/Or not enough pottasium. So yeah it´s a lot of tweeking required, but the journey should be nothing else than amaizing. The dance of elements, microbes, paramecium, enzymes, mycorize (by the way consider them next time, they´re great) is something to be a part of. Thumbs up and play!
That’s an interesting point you bring up about N. I have been adding worm castings to every tea...plus the little bit from other elements added (kelp, alfalfa, non meal, etc.). That could be it. I also have not added any myco. I have some RAW in my arsenel(N, P, K, and Ca/Mg) and even though it’s not organic it is each element in its pure and soluble form. I plan on using micro amounts so I can selectively add individual elements as needed.
All good points, appreciate the feedback. Best of luck with your ladies...looking good in flower!
Congratulations! 👏
