We have left the 7th week behind us.
Buds are filling really fast, most likely due the 20 hours’ light schedule; this is the best feature of auto flowering strains.
Following something I read somewhere, by increasing the exhaust I’ve kept flowering temperatures lower than my other runs, supposedly it stimulates bud growth and thricomes production; as a byproduct humidity has been lower than usual.
Plant A is putting everything into flowering and just at the end of the week it has shown the first signs of PK deficiency, so I upped the feeding strength from 0.65 EC to 1.35 EC; for those that wonder, I actually prefer to see this first signs of deficiency before upping the feeding strength, a slight deficiency does not impact yield and is easily and quickly fixed, but even a slight burn can be disastrous. I expect it to take 2 or 3 more weeks for a total of 9 or 10 weeks.
Plant B on the other hand looks like it will take another 4 or 5 weeks. I’m quite interested in how it will develop it’s flowers; with all the bending I did, most if not all the flowers are at canopy level, there’s no middle or lower buds.
As always, enjoy the pictures
@TomatoloverBoy, winter too, like I'm in now. By using 20/4 light cycle (with autoflowers) and the fans at a low voltage setting, I take care of low ambient temperatures.
Light comes on at 6 PM and goes off at 2 pm, the 4 hour period, between 2 pm and 6 pm is when the day temperatures are warmer and the house is even warmer due heating system.
@zerotwo, thanks, later today I will post the 1st week pictures, I took longer than usual, because I killed one of the seeds and had to start over. That's why 1 seedling is 5 days behind the other.
Low wattage grows are mind boggling! I started with household bulbs and thought I was ‘graduating’ when I bought three real grow lights at 280w each. I received notes from the power company saying I’m using more juice than my neighbors. That could be partly due to my 37 year old refrigerator. It’s huge and awesome and I’m not getting a new one.
. @@Athos’ work (Blynx redux) is inspiring
@growdoctordc, Are you doubtful of the thruthfulness of my light wattage? I did not invent this system. A guy called Blynx did a few years ago, there's a bunch of microgrowers using similar LED bulbs, check the comunity in the ICMAG forums, Marijuana Growing > Grow Diaries > Micro Grows subforum
Great looking plants Athos. The way the four lower branches have developed on Plant A is awesome! Is that directly a result of the fimming process or genetics?
@outdoorsman, LED bulbs promote tight internodes and early side branch development, it's mainly that, also in this case an early FIM, early transplant and good genetics.
I tasted this strain before, it has a sweet woody aroma that makes for a smooth delightful burn down to the end, this is one experience I have to get my hands on again.
sorry for delay @@Athos, with me the effects will vary depending on mood diet activity of the day, but i recall more on the sativa side, alert aware and most important not paying attention to or relying on the tic toc of the clock on time.
@ShaggyGrower, thanks man. It's hard to follow a set feeding schedule, since different strains have different needs; so I prefer tiny feedings every 5 days or so and at the first sign of deficiency, I up the dose. This autos have been hungrier than my other runs, must be the difference in light schedule.
@growdoctordc, even better. Perfect for the wife to use when visiting my parents or they are visiting us. Actually when asked, I ask those t-shirts on her size
Your setup is really inspiring me. Low watts amount , space management with LST , organic nuts : great combo. I was stuck in the "growshop" way to grow with boxes , HID , a 12 bottles set : but you'r showing me the oposite and I like that. Great job bro
