This is my first indoor tent grow so I´m quite excited.
I chose Critical Kush Auto from Barney's Farm, because I heard that this autoflowering plant is ready for harvest in 8-9 weeks.
It has a small size, usually 50 cm and no more than 90 cm, which is perfect for my small tent..
Update: 7th March 2021, the seed that I planted directly in to the jiffy didn´t germinate at all..
So I put a second seed and put it 24h into a glas of water and after that 36h into a paper towel and the results are way better!
What a week!! I planted the seed and some days later, I see my plant growing..
That feels so good..
My questions:
- is the distance of the light to the plant ok?
- is the intensity of 25% correct?
- should I remove the seed coat or should I just let Mother Nature do it, eventually it will be blown up..

On Day 29 I started to install my ScrOG Net. It's my first autoflower build, so I hope everything is ok with my installed net..
Furthermore, I started to turn on the fan, because I had a humidity of almost 99% in the tent. I have the fan running without activated carbon filter, as I can not detect any smell at the moment....
This week my plant is growing like crazy and it slowly starts to smell a little bit.
I am really happy to witness the progress every day..
It's also super thirsty, so I have to fill up the AutopotXL system almost every day!
My plant is still growing like crazy every day. I have now hung the light system again further up that I have again at least 25 to 30cm distance to the top bud.
Furthermore, I noticed that they have become really thirsty and I have to fill up a lot of water every day, since I use the AutopotXL system..
It really can not be any simpler!!
My plant now smells even more intense every day. I am very happy to use an activated carbon filter, so you smell absolutely nothing outside the tent. I have now started to hang a camera in the tent and am experimenting with different durations for a timelapse recording. Currently I take a picture every 30 minutes, but will go up to one every hour.
One bud in the middle of my plant is much lighter than all the others, which all look healthy and green. I think it was due to the too small distance of my light, which was only 20cm (8") between canopy and light. I have now moved the light to 35cm (14").
What are your opinions?
With the light you use, in my experience, is a certain light burn. I keep mine, for example, between 60 and 75 cm. Anyway, the manufacturer gives a minimum of 30 cm during flowering, so if you had them at 20 cm, well.... Now they are well stressed, so give them some care :-)
I have noticed that Mars Hydro indicates to set the distance of the light during flowering to 30cm. Since I suspect that my plant has burned a bit on the light, I have now increased this slightly and hope that it will now be better.
Furthermore, I have removed the ScroG net, so as not to expose her to further stress...
The plant now smells very very strong. The trichomes do not yet change color to amber. I think in 2 weeks it should be so far. I can hardly wait anymore...
DIe plant now smells really extreme and I can only open the tent for a short time. It can not be long before the harvest..

I am not sure when the exact harvest time arrives. I will post pictures of the trichosomes again afterwards. There should be some amber colors visible by now.
I am not that good in reading colors. I can't see that much amber colored trichomes through my microscope.. I was already waiting 2 more weeks.

Once all the pistils have gone brown, THC is rapidly breaking down into CBD and CBN, giving you buds that have a sleepy body stone with a diminished THC head high effect.
In future, try harvesting when the pistils are 95% brown, this will give you buds with peak THC levels and the most psychoactive effect.
If you prefer a heavy body stone, harvest when all the pistils have gone brown.
Deciding on harvest maturity solely judging by trichome colour is, in my opinion, not a reliable indication of trichome composition. Some strains will never have amber trichomes and others will have 75% amber after only 4 weeks of flowering. Waiting extremely long past 100% brown pistils for amber trichomes to appear can result in ending up with second rate buds, due to nearly all of the THC having broken down into CBD and CBN, two non-psychoactive cannabinoids.
Once all the pistils have turned brown, the plant is nearing death and a nearly dead plant can not support prime quality trichomes.
Peak cannabinoid quality, with the most THC and the most fully developed terpenes occurs when there are 90-95% brown pistils.
Pistil colour is a more precise indication of plant health, and it is plant health that determines cannabinoid quality, not trichome colour on its own.
I would say harvest ASAP, before even more of the remaining THC breaks down into non-psychoactive compounds.

On the whole, I am very satisfied since this was my first Grow. I have used the Autopot, which was a self-runner. You really only need to sit back and fill the tank from time to time.
