The moment we have all been waiting for... the summer outdoor flowering photos... enjoy :)
Started the season off with a difficult start... I put them outdoors while the says were still too short. The plants all started to follower, but then as the solstice approached they all converted back into veg and grew like crazy. I was sure my entire grow was fukd...
Now we are well into August which is solid flowering for Ontario growers in zone 5.
Nice Start.. But i wont recommend her for Outdoor... because they need so long for flowering. But maybe its much dryer in Ontario than I think, and we have a good year.....
. Happy and successful growing. I cant wait for outdoor season. In my region ( northern europe) iam very limited with strains i can grow outdoor, because in second week of September the Rain begins... and only plants who end in this time or a week later have achance to get ready
I found my outdoor strains and iam very happy with them.
I go with 2 rounds of automatics and early flowering // express Photoperiod strains.
I started this strain for indoors yesterday... very courious... and happy growing
@Mrs_Larimar, yeah, the express flowering are the very best. I'm going to put some autos in the ground this year... for the first time. I usually keep them in pots. Real estate in my garden is dear :P
@Mrs_Larimar, yes! I'm growing this one in the dirt but under a structure that I can install a green house to extend the grow season by a few weeks. Fingers are crossed that we can keep them warm enough!
@PEV_Seeds, thanks for providing me with the seeds!! I have two plants and the genetics are amazing. We just need to see if they will finish before winter comes to Ontario.
@Mrs_Larimar, they are looking amazing now :-) They really do like the outdoor growing environment, and I think I'm going to be good to harvest before frost and winter comes.
Outdoor cannabis growing in Canada means avoiding frost, but these plants are more durable than most people think. Theyโre more frost resistant than tomato or potato plants. I donโt know if it will stunt growth if itโs too cold too early, but they should do fine with a lightweight covering. We had -3 C here a few days ago and the four cannabis plants already in the ground were fine but I lost two nice tomato plants. Anyway, happy growing for another season. ๐
@Njanne, I know the feeling. Listed as Master but just trying to figure it out. Trying KNF this year and itโs awesome. Plants are a bit small from cold and a bit of a lack of N (my fault) but the buds are great and itโs all super cheap and easy.
@Northern_Ent, yeah, I've neglected the veg stage of my plants... so I haven't been posting until now :-)
I hardened my plants off too early, so when I put them outside the nights were long enough to trigger flowering :( I thought the whole grow was going to be a bust.
But... then the days got longer and they all re-vegged and ended up growing and stretching and now... flowering again.
The FFT testers suffered stunted growth, but even with that they are pretty big and the colas are fat.
I like to 'learn from doing' and I think this makes me a real expert now LOL...
@Njanne, hi there. Long time no update. I was noticing last night that three of the good Canadian outdoor growers are seemingly out this year (you, Hellishjam, and Butterstotch). I hope things are okay with everybody.
Also, my autos werenโt โthatโ tough and were stunted by the cold weather in mid-May. The cold did more damage than the historic heat waves. Good luck for rest of season.
@DoDrugs420, my dad is pretty proud of me :-) He's actually more of a stoner than I am LOL... and he's retired so he can do my trimming in the fall. It's a win-win.
I enjoy watching your grows. I just started my soil mixtures this weekend and bringing it inside to warm up to room temperature. I always harden my plants but Iโve never set an exact plant date. Guess I should start my new diary too. Best of luck to you.
@Njanne, I try to get outside as early as I can, and some times I get burned. I like to get them going in containers inside and set them out during nice days just to get them used to wind and temp changes. Builds a sturdy stem which it needs to survive in my region. I start seeds like you do, but Iโve never cloned. I want to do that this season so I am going to watch your postings and follow your advice because of your success in the past. What is your soil mixture?
@@PirateJoe, I try to harden mine off in two groups... one group (six plants) goes in the dirt under the plastic removable 'green house' shelter a week or two ahead of schedule for my hardiness zone... usually the first week of May. The second group goes in a week or two later into the center plot where we have no covers... I like to live on the edge a bit... eek LOL
