This is my First time RDWC Indoor Grow, in the middle of my setup is this feminized Critical from RQS. The Plant started off outdoors in some hydro-ton while i got the grow box ready. Unfortunately i have not kept a journal as of yet and the girl has been vegging a while, I Have tied her down, topped and fimmed, mainlined her. but ill start recording from now as week 6. Sorry about pictures, phone has cracked lens. She was starting to get really bushy, so i've decided to take off a lot more of the lower and middle leaves and branches, Was worried i took off a bit much, but hope she keeps going and then starts to fill up the screen, I'm Still debating this res water method of the oxygen boost and clean res to keep water clear, Seems to be H202, I've managed to order some Vermicast Compost and Effective Micro-Organisms cultivated on Molasses. a 2 Liter bottle that says dilute 1:1000. It doesn't give any more info than that or what strains and bacteria is in there, unfortunately being in Africa has its limitations. Thinking maybe a Compost Tea through the top fed hydroton would help with water slime that develops over time. The other options would be the bleach or pool shock methods, but i'm still a bit wary of that. was hoping the beneficial would help with the plants uptakes and macro and micro minerals but also dont want to end up with a issue where the bad bacteria takes over or causes issues.

Brewed a Vermicast/EMO aerated compost tea, added that through netpots, Seems to be keeping water clear and no slime, plants growth seem to be enjoying it, there is new white roots as well, the older roots are a bit brown, not sure if it root rot or if its stained from the tea, they still seem quite sterdy. will see how this goes for a bit, if nt ill give the chlorine method a try. I built a peltier cooler but doesnt seem to cool the res efficiently enough, not for the amount of power. Busy with an arduino kit to sense most of the conditions. Update. 6 days later and i've decided i should probably start the flower, the plant has shot through the scrog net and having to try weave them as they get long enough. ive flushed the plant and now change the res out. the plant is growing quite nicely those Effective Micro-organisms seem to be helping since i added and keeping the water clean. and i have been adjusting the timer down to 12-12 over the last few days. and should start my flowering in a day or 2. ive added more 3000k leds this week to help spectrum change.

Had to do quite a bit of defoliation as the light wasn't getting through. tried to tuck as many fan leaves as i could under the scrog. Found a Little Security guard in my room so thought i'd add him in the cupboard.

Have piched a few more stems on this and tied them down, will see how they react and hopefully release them in a week they will be growing a bit more away from the middle to let more light through. Day 17 - added about 700ml of EWC tea brewed with E.M, Vermigro , Treacle Sugar and mycoot through the net pot. Day 20 - Raised lights a little, Tucked some fan leaves, pinched a stem to bend over and snapped it about 40% hope it pulls through

I do Feel i let this grow get way out of hand for the space and light available. Day 29 - Added another 20L to res at half strength nutes. Did quite a bit of defoliation as there was not much light getting to the lower buds. This plants have been stretching like crazy so have had to cable tie a few down Day 30 - Added 400ml of Tea ( 5L water, 2 cups E.W.C , 1 tsp Mycoroot supreme, 50ml E.M. , 10ml Liquid Silicon+ ) Day 31 - Supercropped the stems to get a nice even canopy and hopefully get light closer to bud sites. Day 32 - Added a cup of tea into each net pot Day 35 - Added a Cup of Tea to each net pot

Day 36 - Changed out res and nutes, hoping the plants will start building some weight to those buds this week. Changed time of light to 11 hours Day 37 - Added 2 cups of tea through net pot. Day 38 - Clip colas to backbuild, hopefully will fatten things up a bit. Seems like this plants is growing the slowest out of the rest. Day 39 - Raised lights another 5cm, was losing coverage and thought it might be a bit too close.

Grow Questions

AfricanGreenstarted grow question 7 years ago
Worried my 3 plants are far behind, could it be its to crowded? (But i have seen grows where more dense canopy's fatten up) Or lights(7x50w 220v cobs, 2x12v 50w cobs, 1x36v 100w, all from ebay & 75w cfl)? did i defoliate too much? or mite it just my imagination?

I notice over the past three weeks that temperatures, air; substrate and solution, have gone down considerably. Mid 60's from early 70's. I'm a fan of warm substrate & solution as I think cold really halts growth, veg or flower. Air temp can get cold to tell the plant Winter-Is_Coming, but I won't now sacrifice warm substrate & solution. I don't think you have defoliated too much, although I find when I defoliate it stresses plants and they take some days to recover, these days I add on to the projected harvest date. Example, three defoliations taking ~4 days to recover = 12 days to add on to projected harvest date.

Day 43 - Changed res with fresh water and nutes. Day 44 Flowering - Added 1 cup of tea through each net pot. Added another 0.3ml/L of bloom as nutes had dropped 100ppm over night Day 46 Flowering - Added 1 cup of compost tea through each plants net pot. ph was lowering quite a bit, the tea compenstate it to bring it up a bit. Day 49 Flowering - Added 1 cup of compost tea through each plants net pot. ph was lowering quite a bit, the tea compenstate it to bring it up a bit.

Wow so what a week, My Grow cupboard almost broke and pulled away from the wall about 5cm, I Had to take the plants out the scrog as the scrog then damaged some branches. The Critical seems to have had it the worst with it being outside using natural light. it was out the cupboard for 2 days. i managed to repair the cupboard slightly but still have light leaks. I can see some foxtails on some of the buds. not sure if this is from the leaks which ive tried covering of just genetics of this strain. Day 57 - Changed nutes and water

The trunk looks so strong 💪

@ChefDan420, Thanks, It is very sturdy. If I move the buckets the stem just stays straight and starts pulling the net pot out, I think liquid silicon is amazing with growing stronger stems

@AfricanGreen Hi there! What a crowd! They may cannibalize themselves if they're too close, I'd recommend to defoliate a little more so your bud sites can get the maximum air + light. Also, I'm not convinced about the 11H-light schedule, I guess you want to speed up the process and I can understand, I may try this technique during the last week of flowering, but your buds are not fully developed, and they still need decent amount of energy. Let them do their thing, help them with light defoliation, as much air+light+love as you can, and you'll be rewarded soon! Hope this helps, keep us up-to-date and happy growing! 👊

@ShaggyGrower Yes, unfortunately we i am the winter has hit us so the temperatures have taken a tumble.. Normally i would think this would help in flowering with the plant thinking winter is coming. but may have come a bit early as well. i think the defoliating did stress out the plant and took a bit to recover, they buds seem to filling up a more this week. Just going to be patient and see what happens. Thanks
