Day 0. I soaked one seed in pH'd water for 12 hrs overnight. The morning of Day 1, I ensured that the seed sank when I tapped it in the water. Then I transferred it to the rockwool, sealed it in a Ziploc bag, and left it in the tent with lights on 24/7 (the lights were needed to keep the tent warm as I did not have a heater). Day 2 was uneventful. Day 3, the sprout was observed emerging from the rockwool. The first full leaves emerged on Day 4, and I adjusted to 18/6 light schedule. On Day 6, roots emerged from the bottom, but decided to wait one more day to transplant. Day 7 (beginning of week 2) I transplanted it into DWC, and a picture is included.

The first two actual fan leaves continue growth, and the second set is growing in. The water level is at the rock wool level while root growth has grown a couple of inches into the water. End of week 2, roots are fully in the water so I will be lowering the water level when I do the water change.

Changed nutrients completely to a Veg nutrients schedule. Lowered the water level to leave an air gap between the water and net pot. Adjusted the light power to 100% (up from 80%). Significant amounts of growth were noted sprouting up to the fifth node, so I started introducing minor LST in preparation for more later on.

Lowered nutrients (slight N tox), LST'd more, and topped plant at the fifth node. The plant drooped for two days but then fully recovered with explosive growth at the new nodes. Calcium deficiency noted, so waiting on CalMag to arrive. The one leaf experienced strange deformation but never showed up on any other leaves.

The shipping for the CalMag was pretty severely delayed due to the snow, so, unfortunately, had to ride out this week with the brown spot appearing more. At the end of the week, I knew the CalMag was coming the next week so I topped one more time to stay on schedule. ScrOG also will be introduced next week. My clumsy fingers snapped a branched but luckily not completely off so I taped it back up. (Looking back I definitely did not need to top for a second time since I was doing scrog anyways)

Found out that pH fluctuations were caused by a lack of nutrients in the water, so I upped nutrients across the board as it was nearing the flip anyways. The calmag finally arrived and decided to wait a week since the last topping to flip. At the end of the week, one week since the topping had passed and the calcium deficiency spots had stopped spreading so I defoliated lower and large leaves. Since this is a 2x2x4 tent, I wanted to make sure there was enough room for it for the stretch so I flipped into flower!!

There was a bit of nitrogen tox at the beginning of the flip to flower nutrients, so lowered nutes a little bit the next reservoir change. At the end of the week (Day 8F), there no pistils yet, but the stretch was evident.

Lowered nutrients by 1 ml/gal to see how the plant would adjust (it responded well, should have started with a bit fewer nutrients to acclimate it). I had spread it out well enough so I removed the scrog net for now so I could reinstall it later to spread out the upper layers. Day 10F the first pistils appeared!! Every day thereafter pistils just started showing up on all the different bud sites. Throughout the week I would go through the plant and trim some fan leaves here and there to increase light penetration.

There has been mild light burn because I, unfortunately, underestimated how much it would stretch. I'm slowly spreading out the tallest colas by tying them to the scrog net, hopefully, that will be sufficient to get them through the grow (the light has already been raised to the highest it can possibly go). I also dimmed the light to 80% and am going to continue monitoring how the plant responds. Did the last defoliation trim at the end of this week mostly to increase light penetration through the middle now that the light is dimmer.

Started the fourth week with the last defoliation I'm going to do. Though I may continue to trim some fan leaves here and there when they're blocking bud sites. Some frostiness started to really show on day 23/24 of flower. The height is becoming too much of an issue and because I had already been planning on upgrading the tent, I will be switching her into a taller tent next week. Was kind of stressing out the last two days because the plant had literally grown up to the light, so I forgot to take photos, sorry y'all! But check out next week for an update!

The tent has been increased by 16" in height! Immediately moved her into it. You can see in the photos that two of the colas were burned pretty severely as they were right up against the light. I was super stressed out myself waiting for the tent to come in, but fortunately, I was able to save the plant before any more colas were damaged. I will be monitoring the burned leaves and see how they adjust. I also increased the nutrients as she seemed to be demanding more the past week. After monitoring for a few days, I’m noticing the PPM is increasing indicating she’s drinking more than she’s eating, so I’ll be slightly lowering the feed again next week. Midweek came to the realization the burns were likely actually from moisture building on the leaves while it was close to the light. I’ve had some problems with this in the past on this plant, and the spots don’t spread so I’ll leave them be unless I decide to trim the leaves away later on.

She’s starting to smell really nice and fruity, kind of mango-ish. There are a bunch of pistils starting to turn amber as well, but most trichomes are still clear. Transitioning to late bloom nutrients, so stopped adding Gro and will be slowly decreasing overall nutrients probably next week. The damaged cola has been recovering as well, and I noted good new growth and new pistils sprouting on its damaged tip. All the other colas are growing really nicely and forming nice dense nugs.

They’re really starting to focus on making the nugs more dense now, and getting close to the 55-65 day sweet spot! I’ve been watching the trichomes and none are amber yet. The smell is really fruity and she’s quite sticky too.

Stopped supplementing with CalMag and only small amounts of nutrients. Refilling with distilled water. Still noticing them growing larger and more dense, and many trichomes turning milky, and there there’s a couple amber ones.

Flushing with half tap water and half distilled water and then put her under 48hrs darkness and will be harvesting Day 60 of flower and Day 100 from seed! I’ll leave my reflections on the harvest post, but excited to see how much this’ll pull. Very budgeted grow so definitely will not be anything too impressive but for my first grow and with a 2x2 tent I’m happy.

Overall a pretty decent plant to have my first grow with. She was pretty sensitive to nutrients so had to play around with it to get the right levels. Buds could’ve been larger, but unsure if it was genetics or mistakes made on my part, will test her again after I’ve had some experience with other strains. I definitely made mistakes with pH fluctuations and light stress (learned for next time!) but still happy with the outcome. Tried some after just a week of cute and the smoke is amazing. Very fruity aroma from the bud, super smooth smoke, and gives a very nice head high.

Good job on your first grow, neat work & Great effort . * Give them few (2 -3) more weeks would yield at least twice more . Generally speaking, start counting weeks from when the flowers start to form (not when you switch to 12 hours lights) and 8 weeks is least amount of time in my opinion it takes for most strains if not all. You have done a great job it being your first grow and at the end of it I bet you have so much experience and most importantly, satisfaction. 🙌 Best of luck with your next one. Also cant seem to drop likes anymore anywhere for some strange reason.... here's a thumbs up 👍
