For this second grow, I will not post as many pictures or comments compare with my first grow.
I will try to grow organic as much as I can. I will not use bottle nutrients like the previous grow.
I germinated the seed between paper towel and place them in soil 3 days after.
For this grow I started them in smaller pot and I'm planning to transplant into final 3 gallon fabric pot after 2 weeks.
D13 (07/03/2021): Here we are at D13 from placing seeds between paper towels. During the week I did add pure hen manure (5-3-2) on top of the soil. This organic fertilizer is in form of pellets that break down when water is applied.
D20 (14/03/2021): Here we are at day 20 from placing seeds between paper towels. During the week, I transplanted them into 3 gallons fabric pots. I made a soil mix of:
- 3/5 of the premium soil I used for seedling which is a mix of coco coir, soil and perlite
- 1/5 of earthworm casting
- 1/10 of bone meal
- 1/10 of pure hen manure
**Note that it's all approximative ratios.
The day before, I brew a tea for 24h to feed the plant after transplanting them:
- 3 tbsp. earthworm casting
- 2 tbsp. pure hen manure
- 1 tbsp. organic marine phytoplankton soil enhancer
- 1 tbsp. organic molasses
**Note that it's all approximative mesures.
I also sprinkled the roots and added Myke mycorrhizae in the hole before transplanting the plants.
Glue Gelato #2 and Banana Kush #2 recovered well after transplanting in bigger pots. Gelato did not and she is behind the others. Hopefully she will recover. I transplanted the plants at day 17 and I think it was to early. I should have wait 3-4 more days.
***Note that I started to count the days when I placed the seeds between paper towels. The seeds were planted 3 days later and sprouted from the ground 2 days after being planted.
D22 (16/03/2021): I started the LST on Glue Gelato #2 and Banana Kush #2. Gelato was not big enough to start LST so I waited 3 days before starting LST on her. I sprinkled some pure hen manure on top of Gelato soil to help with her light green leaves.
D27 (21/03/2021): Gelato still growing slow but her leaves are greener. Banana Kush #2 is the healthier. Glue Gelato #2 still have dark green leaves like nitrogen toxicity but she still growing. She is the one that drink more. I need to give her water more often cause the ground dry up faster. I removed 1 or 2 big fan leave on each plant cause they were blocking light form reaching potential bud site.
- Light: the lights are at 100% and at 36 inch form the plants.
- Temperature: during the day: 23-26C ; during the night: 19-20C.
- Humidity: the humidity is maintain around 58-60% all the time.
- Air circulation: There is an oscillating fan on the ground, one fixed fan pointing on top of the canopy and one fixed fan to help cool the lights.
- Water: I gave water every other day or when the ground feel dry or the pots feels light. I use tap water that I let sit for a minimum of 24h with air stone: 125-135PPM and around PH6.1-6.6.
- Nutrient: I only sprinkled some pure hen manure on top of Gelato soil to help her with light green leaves.
***Note that I started to count the days when I placed the seeds between paper towels. The seeds were planted 3 days later and sprouted from the ground 2 days after being planted.
D34 (28/03/2021): Gelato is still light green. At this point I think it's this phenotype that cause that. Glue Gelato #2 and Banana Kush #2 are growing healthy. All of them showed pistils this week so it will be the official start of flowering next week. They are just starting to stretch as I need to readjust the LST ties every other day. I removed a lot of leaves that were blocking potential bud sites. I gave a compost tea and I'm planning to make one every week from now on because the demand in nutrients will increase as they enter in flowering stage.
- Light: the lights are at 100% and at 20 inch form the plants.
- Temperature: during the day: 23-25C ; during the night: 19-20C.
- Humidity: the humidity is maintain around 58-60% all the time.

- Nutrient: I made a compost tea with the following ingredients that I let brewed for 24h:
- 3 tbsp. peat-base soil
- 3 tbsp. earthworm casting
- 3 tbsp. pure hen manure
- 50 ml organic marine phytoplankton soil enhancer
- 1 tbsp. organic molasses
**Note that it's all approximative measures and it was made in a 2 gallons container.
***Note that I started to count the days when I placed the seeds between paper towels. The seeds were planted 3 days later and sprouted from the ground 2 days after being planted.
D38 (01/04/2021): It was a stretch week since they grew about 8 inch in a week! It's crazy! Glue Gelato #2 looks crazy healthy and he is going to be a bush with a lot of bud site! Gelato looks better and as stretched to the point where he is the same size as the Banana Kush #2. I'm really happy cause I was not sure if he would have survive the transplantation but he did! Banana Kush #2 still look super healthy.
D41 (04/04/2021): I removed a lot of leaves that were blocking potential bud sites. I gave a compost tea again this week. I stopped adjusting LST ties but I'm bending branches to make sure all of the bud sites gets proper amount of light. Overall a good first week (maybe 2nd ishh) of flower and I can't wait to see bud forming on those beauties! 😍
- Light: the lights are at 100% and at 15 inch form the plants.
- Temperature: during the day: 24-26C ; during the night: 19-20C.
- Humidity: the humidity is maintain around 57-58% all the time.
- Nutrient: I made a compost tea with the following ingredients that I let brewed for 48h:
- 3 tbsp. peat-base soil
- 3 tbsp. earthworm casting
- 3 tbsp. pure hen manure
D48 (11/04/2021): Some deficiencies showed up this week on Glue Gelato #2 and Gelato. Banana Kush #2 is fine and show no sign of deficiencies. It looks like phosphorus or calcium deficiencies. I top dressed my plant with 6 tables spoon of the following ingredient:
- peat-base soil
- earthworm casting
- pure hen manure (4-4-7) (I add way more then 6 tbs. of pure hen manure)
- Bone meal (2-10-0)
I also gave water with organic marine phytoplankton soil enhancer (175ml per gallon of water). I think the compost tea I was doing was really not strong enough in nutrients. I will buy some good shrimp compost this week and will do a better compost tea. Despite those brown ish red spots, they all seems to grow well. Banana Kush and Gelato seems behind Glue Gelato but they showed more pistils this week.
- Light: the lights are at 100% and at 12 inch form the plants.
- Temperature: during the day: 24-26C ; during the night: 19-20C.
- Humidity: the humidity is maintain around 55-56% all the time.
- Air circulation: There is an oscillating fan on the ground, one fixed fan pointing on top of the canopy and one fixed fan to help cool the lights.
- Water: I gave water every other day or when the ground feel dry or the pots feels light. This week, I almost gave water everyday.
***Note that I started to count the days when I placed the seeds between paper towels. The seeds were planted 3 days later and sprouted from the ground 2 days after being planted.
D49 (12/04/2021): I bought Gaia Green power bloom 2-8-4 and top dressed the plants with 2 tbs. / gallon of medium. After showing deficiency, I felt that my plants needed more then just hen manure. I also bought shrimp compost to make proper compost tea.
D54 (17/04/2021): I made a compost tea with shrimp compost, sea weed extract and phytoplankton soil enhancer. I continue to defoliate and remove leaves randomly when leaves are blocking light to bud site. Glue Gelato is amazing!😍 She's starting to bulk and her pistils are getting longer. She's also starting to have some trichomes. I'm expecting the smell to ramp up this week 👌 Banana Kush has stretch a lot and she is as tall as Glue Gelato but less bushy. Gelato is really smaller so I lifted the pot with wood block so she can get more light. It's been only few days and I can already see that she appreciate receiving more light 👍
- Light: the lights are at 100% and at 12 inch form the plants.

D56 (19/04/2021) : Glue Gelato and Gelato started to smell like cannabis 😋 Glue Gelato smell like berries a bit like Cool Aid and gazy. Gelato smell gazy and a bit citrus. Banana Kush has not started to smell. There is no trichomes yet on the buds and leaves.
D61 (24/04/2021): I made a compost tea with shrimp compost, sea weed extract and phytoplankton soil enhancer. It is the last compost tea I will gave them. During next week, I will top dress them with some dry organic amendment one last time and then only water for the rest of the grow!
- Light: the lights are at 100% and at 12 inch form the plants.
- Temperature: during the day: 24-26C ; during the night: 19-20C.
- Humidity: the humidity is maintain around 46-48% all the time.
- Air circulation: There is an oscillating fan on the ground, one fixed fan pointing on top of the canopy and one fixed fan to help cool the lights.
- Water: I gave water every other day or when the ground feel dry or the pots feels light.
***Note that I started to count the days when I placed the seeds between paper towels. The seeds were planted 3 days later and sprouted from the ground 2 days after being planted.
D63 (26/04/2021) : I top dressed the soil of every pot with Gaia Green power bloom 2-8-4, earthworm casting, bone meal and shrimp compost. I think it was a bit late in the flower to top dress the Glue Gelato. From now on I will only give water.
D66 (29/04/2021): I saw more calcium deficiency but on the Banana Kush this time. She is really close from the light and I think this is why the closest leaves got some rust brown ish spots. The lamp under the Banana Kush and the Gelato is higher now. I made a gallon of home made organic CalMag supplement with Epsom salt, crushed egg shell and molasse. I gave all 3 plants 200ml of home made CalMag when watering them. I will gave them approximately 100-150ml of this CalMag supplement every other watering.
D69 (02/05/2021): The smell is crazy 😍 It smells soooo good! The house is starting to smell strong too 😳😅.
- Light: the lights are at 100% and at 12 inch form the plants.

D76 (09/05/2021): This grow is on cruise control. The buds are swelling and they smell strong. Banana Kush does not have a strong smell and not a lot of trichomes, like the previous Banana Kush I grew. The genetic of those seeds might not be the best. Gelato and Glue Gelato smell dank and have a lot of trichomes. The Glue Gelato is starting to have a beautiful pink color on top buds. All three plants are still drinking good amount of water (around 2L of water for Glue gelato every day and the same amount for Gelato and Banana Kush but every other day).
- Light: the lights are at 100% and at 12 inch form the plants.
- Temperature: during the day: 24-26C ; during the night: 20C.

- Water: I gave water every other day or when the ground feel dry or the pots feels light.
- ***IPM: I never mention it but I'm using nematodes pouch as an integrated pest management. I had trouble with pest in my first grow and I learned from it. That's the only thing I do for pest and of course watching closely and regularly at my plants 😊
***Note that I started to count the days when I placed the seeds between paper towels. The seeds were planted 3 days later and sprouted from the ground 2 days after being planted.
D80 (13/05/2021): I'm looking at the trichomes every other days. Glue Gelato is starting to show amber on top buds. No amber for Banana Kush and Gelato. This time I will chop them all at the same time so the one I will rely on is the Glue Gelato. As soon as she is ready, I will harvest them all. Banana Kush and Gelato would probably need more, but in term of logistic, I need to harvest all my plants at the same time.
D83 (16/05/2021): Not ready yet. I'm checking trichomes closely! 😬

D85 (18/05/2021): The weather in my area is getting hot this week and it's also hot in my tent. I know it's not ideal for the last weeks of flower 😕… I might chop this weekend but I want to give a period of darkness before (at least 24h).
D87 (20/05/2021): I decided to put them in a period of darkness. I did not record any video of the trichomes (sorry I forgot) but Glue Gelato has around 5% amber, Banana Kush has no clear trichomes all cloudy and Gelato has started to show some amber. Due to an increase of the temperature and the humidity and because I don't want to ruin anything, I decided that it was over.
D88 (21/05/2021): After 36 hours I chopped and hanged dry all three plants in the same tent they grew in. Sorry I did not take enough picture of the process. I only removed the fan leaves and let all leaves with trichomes. I will edit the harvest once every thing is dry, trim and in jar for cure. It's currently between 21-23C degree and 52-56% humidity in the tent. I'm aiming for at least 7 days to dry the buds.
The weight was done after a week of curing in jars. I just tried a small bud when I trimmed it and it was earthy and berry. After a week, the smell was more like roasted nut and berry. Very pleasant smell, I can't wait to try it after a proper cure of 3 weeks.
The weight was taken after 1 week of curing in jar. I did not taste it yet but after a week of curing the smell is unique! It smell really like a Banana bread. Nothing compare with the Banana Kush I grew in my first grow. I can't wait to try it, hopefully it will taste like it smells! 😋
