BornAgainGrower o.k. so gonna try doing a diary from start to finish now that i got the kinks worked out after returning to growing after a 15 year hiatus.
I purchased a 5 pack of seeds. To pop them i soaked them for 24 hrs in room temp water. Then i transferred them to a moist paper towel and placed in a sealed plastic bag with some air in it. I placed them covered on a seedling mat set to 78 degrees F for 24 hours then checked them. After the first 24 hours all had sprouted and all but one had shed it seed husk. they were all between 1 to 2 inched long. I had pre-soaked and PH balanced some side-split rockwool. The soaking solution had 150 ppm of nutrients and clonex formula in it. They are currently sitting under a 25 watt LED about 3 inches above the canopy. Using a seedling mat to maintain 78 deg F.
My RDWC system is set up for 4 plant's so I will be keeping the best 4 best out of the 5 to transplant when it's time.

BornAgainGrower o.k. so exactly 1 week from popping the seeds they were ready for the system.
i premixed and balanced the nutrient the solution the day before to allow the water to warm up. Unfortunately didn't take any pics of the seedlings before i transplanted them. 3 appear to be quite vigorous and the other 2 weren't far behind. It was a coin flip between the last 2 for the final spot in system.
In addition to the floraduo A&B i added some amino acids, great white, and my homemade version of hydroguard. I mix my own using Dr. Marijanes pro-biotic powder which has the same main active ingredients as hydroguard along with 2 other bacteria. It's pennies on the dollar and should be just as good.
A little about me and my setup. My first grow I kind of winged it and worked the kinks out after 15 years away from growing any herb. It was my first time ever growing hydroponically despite a decade of experience in the distant past. I knew it would be a bit of a shit show, and it was. Although the yield was respectable(15.9 oz off 3 plants in a 4X4) and the quality was excellent. But this time I'm going to document things as I go. I'm really excited to see just what can be done with good genetics and a good set up.
My tent is a cheapy from amazon. GA is the brand. It's a great tent for the price actually. They are sitting under two mars SP 3000's both dimmed to 30% (so about 180W total) at 24" above the bucket tops (which is actually a couple inches higher then the seedlings themselves currently)
Ventilation wise I am running a 6" exhaust and 4" intake both with charcoal scrubbers. The speed control for the fans are daisy chained together to ensure i maintain negative pressure.
System wise, I am basically running a DIY under current style system with a chiller. I made 2 improvements to the system for the 2nd run. One was I added a second air pump and a 2nd set of stones to the buckets and run them concurrently for redundancy in case one pump fails. I also added a top up resevoir.
Going forward I plan on creating a mini rdwc system using 5 gallon buckets in another tent to get a head start on the vegging and training. Since it will only run for a few weeks at a time I think I will to try to run it sterile using a UC Roots hack using pool shock as the ingredient. Hopefully avoiding the expense of a chiller. (plus save on UC roots for pennies on the dollar)

BornAgainGrower Hi folks,
It's day 2 of week 2. The plants have established themselves nicely. One plant is 9" in diameter, two are 8" and the smallest is 7" across.
Day 1 of week 2 I increased the lights to 50%. I also installed a temp/rh combo controller and additional humidifier so I can try and maintain ideal VPD. Day 2 the roots of the smallest one reached the bottom of the 8" net pot. I drained enough water from system to lower the water level to just kiss the bottom of the net pots.
I did NOT do a resevoir change this week. They are so small (essentially still seedlings for another week) they aren't putting a dent in the nutrients available. It would be a waste of nutrients and needless work. I'm running a chiller and using bennies so it won't be a problem going 2 weeks without changing it. Will do a change for start of week 3, and lowering the water level to about 1.5" below the bottom of the net pot.
I refreshed the bennies and I also added a low dose of cal mag as week 1 i only used base nutrients and bennies. This brought the EC up to .7 (450 ppm). I do NOT use RO water but my water is relatively soft at about 100 to 120 ppm. The mineral content is so low I have to add salt to the water in order to use my steam humidifiers.

BornAgainGrower hey guys,
So it's day 1 of week 3. Ran into a couple issues with my warm mist humidfiers so I have some ultrasonic's on the way but won't be targeting VPD for a couple days while I wait for them to arrive.
Whats new this week:
-increased lighting from 50% to 65% (aprox 390 watts)
-first rez change. .7 EC, 5.8 PH, 68 deg h20
Will likely top the 2 biggest in the next couple days. And hopefully the 2 smaller by end of the week or the beginning of next. Most likely will top the larger 2 at 4th node and at the 5th for the smaller 2 in an attempt to even out the canopy.
So far quite happy with these guys, I do wish the smallest was a bit bigger, but that's how it is growing from seed, there always seems to be runt. I don't mind a runt, just hoping it's not a completely dwarf plant like one of my Glookies.
The plans for a 6 bucket mini rdwc system to handle seedling/early veg is underway. I can chose the best 4 to transplant to the flowering tent. At that point i should have a better idea of what I got, making the final cuts for the rdwc system a week after popping the seeds. isn't ideal. You just don't really know what you have at that point.
